0.05). Conclusions The expression of XAF1 decreases in both malignant and benign colo-rectal tumors and is significantly lower in colorectal carcinomas than in adenomas/polyps. Thus, XAF1 may have the potential role in differentiating colorectal cancer from benign tumors.

Objective To analyze the natural changes of maternal thyroid function among women with subclinical thyroid dysfunction and euthyroid women during pregnancy.Methods A total of 4 042 singleton pregnant women received routine antenatal care in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University between April and November 2012 were enrolled.Thyroid-stimulatinghormones (TSH),freetriiodothyronine (FT3) and free thyroxine (FT4) of 7 136 samples from 4 042 singleton pregnant women were tested at 8-12+6,13-19+6,20-27+6,and 28-40 weeks of gestation and were used to establish the normal gestationalspecific reference values of thyroid function.Among 3 895 women having thyroid function tested at 8-19+6 weeks of gestation with negative thyroid antibodies,there were 93 cases of subclinical hyperthyroidism,91 cases of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH),three cases of hyperthyroidism and 3 708 cases euthyroid.There were 1 118 women [1 607 euthyroid cases,17 cases of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) and 34 cases of subclinical hyperthyroidism] had thyroid function retested at 20-27+6 and 28-40 weeks of gestation,and without medicinal intervention.Analysis of variance and LSD test were used to analyze the changes of maternal thyroid function.Results (1) The reference ranges of TSH at 8-12+6,13-19+6,20 27+6 and 28-40 weeks of gestation [median (Pz5-P97.5)] were 1.32 (0.03-4.17),1.83 (0.19-4.94),2.27 (0.70-5.42) and 2.34 (0.63-5.52) mU/L respectively.(2) Without medicinal intervention,thyroid function became normal in 80％ (45/56) SCH women at 20-27+6 weeks,but 20％ (9/45) of them developed SCH again at 28-40 weeks.The thyroid function became normal in 75％ (70/93) women with subclinical hyperthyroidism at 20-27+6 weeks,but in 15％ (14/93) of them,thyroid function remained abnormal at 28-40 weeks.9.40％ (30/319) and 6.25％ (21/336) euthyroid women with TSH ≥ 3 mU/L at 8-19+6 weeks of gestation developed SCH at 20-27+6 weeks and 28-40 weeks,while 0.42％ (5/1 202) and 0.86％ (10/1 163) euthyroid women with TSH ＜3 mU/L had SCH.1.66％ (20/1 202) and 1.98％ (23/1 163) euthyroid women with TSH＜3 mU/L at 8-19+6 weeks of gestation developed subclinical hyperthyroidism at 20-27+6 weeks and 28-40 weeks of gestation.(3) In comparison between 8-19+6 weeks and 20-27+6 weeks of gestation,TSH levels increased by (0.47±0.03) mU/L in euthyroid women,and more significantly in subclinical hyperthyroidism women [(0.82±0.06) mU/L],but decreased by (1.67±0.25) mU/L in SCH women (LSD test,all P＜0.05).The FT3 levels decreased by (0.47±0.02) pmol/L in euthyroid women,and more significantly in subclinical hyperthyroidism and SCH groups [(1.02± 0.18) and (0.72±0.08) pmol/L,LSD test,all P＜0.05].FT4 decreased by (2.31 ±0.04) pmol/L in euthyroid women,and more significanly in subclinical hyperthyroidism women [(4.63± 0.62) pmol/L] (LSD test,P＜0.05),but the decrement in SCH group [(1.78±0.28) pmol/L] was similar to euthyroid women (LSD test,P＞0.05).There were no significant differences in changes of TSH,FT3 and FT4 at 20-27+6 weeks and 28-40 weeks among euthyroid women,SCH and subclinical hyperthyroidism groups (F=1.01,1.14 and 2.04,all P＞0.05).Conclusions Women with subclinical thyroid dysfunction with negative thyroid antibodies experience significantly different natural changes when compared with euthyroid women,especially before 28 weeks of gestation.

BACKGROUND: Special anatomical location makes eye lens expose to stressful situation in a long term. Whether the environmental stress can up-regulate the expression of heat shock proteins in human lens epithelial cells? Whether the synthesis increase occurs in the level of trenscdption or translation, remains unclear.OBJECTIVE: To observe the expression and location of heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) in human lens epithelial cells under the conditions of high temperature and oxidative stress, and to investigate the pathogenesis of the cataract.METHODS: Human lens epithelial cells cultured in vitro were exposed to heat (45 ℃) and oxidative stress (50 mmol/L H_2O_2) for 30 minutes, respectively, then allowed to recover normal conditions. At different intervals (0, 2, 4, 6, 16, 24 hours),immunocytochemistry and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction were used to determine the expression and localization of HSP27.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: HSP27 was shown to express in both physiological and stressful conditions. The expressions of HSP27 mRNA and protein ware remarkably increased at 2 hours following heat and oxidative stress, and reached the peak at 6 hours. HSP27 could maintain a high level for 16 hours. The stress-induced HSP27 protein positive particles transferred from the cytoplasm to the nucleus, and gradually shift back to the cytoplasm along time. It is proved that HSP27 exists in lens epithelial cells and can be increased after stress. The data suggested it may play an important protective role in lens epithelial cells in respond to cellular stress.

Aim To establish an analytical method for determination of guanfu base I (GFI) concentration in plasma and investigate its pharmacokinetics in rats. Methods Rats were given a 20 mg?kg~-1 dose intravenously. Blood samples were collected at various times after iv administration. The plasma concentration of GFI was determined by LC-MS. Pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by 3p97 program.Results The method was linear in the 0.05～20 mg?L~-1 concentration range (r=~0.999 4 ). Objective To find out the endoscopic characteristics of peptic ulcer disease in Monglian area.Methods 15826 cases in hospital within past 17 years were retrospectively analyzed.Results In all endoscopic cases,2298 cases of peptic ulcer were found,the detecting rate was 14.52%.Among them,58.98%(1376 cases) were of duodenal ulcer,32.16%(739 cases) were of gastric ulcer,7.96%(183 cases) were of complex ulcer.The detecting rates of male and female patients were 18.53% and 8.06% respectively,Monglian and Han nationalities were 18.43% and 13.15% respectively.Conclusions The detecting rate of peptic ulcer in Monglian nationality is higher than in Han nationality at Monglian area,has singnificant difference(P

Objective To explore the effect of preeclampsia on the expression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis related genesin the hippocampus of adolescent offspring rats.Methods The pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups to be given 125 mg · kg-1 ·d-1 L-NAME or 1 mL pure saline by daily injection from day 14 to delivery.Serum corticosterone (CORT) levels in neonatal offspring rats were detected by ELISA.The mRNA and protein levels of glucocorticoid receptor (GR),corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH),CRH receptor 1 (CRHR1) and IL-6 in the hippocampus of 8-week offspring rats were determined by real-time PCR and Western blot,respectively.Results Compared with normal neonatal rats,the serum CORT concentration of neonatal rats with preeclampsia was increased (P＜0.05).Compared with normal adolescent offspring,the levels of GR,CRH and CRHR1 mRNA and protein were increased in the hippocampus of adolescent rats with preeclampsia (P＜0.05),accompanied by increased IL-6 mRNA and protein (P＜0.05),as a downstream inflammatory gene of the GR.Conclusions We found that adolescent SD rats exposed to preeclampsia showed alteration in the expression of HPA related genes in the hippocampus,which played a role in the impairment of learning and memory in children.

Objective To evaluate the multi-spiral CT(MSCT)imaging features and classification of renal pelvis carcinoma.Meth-ods 76 patients of renal pelvis carcinoma proved pathologically were analyzed retrospectively,and divided into different types ac-cording to the MSCT features.The MSCT differences for different types were analyzed.Results Most of the tumors showed iso-density or slight hyperdensity (95%)on un-enhanced images,and persistent mild-to-moderate enhancement (91%)in enhanced im-ages.All cases were divided into three types:pelvic mass type in 30 cases (39%),substance invasion type in 25 cases (33%),wall thickening type in 21 cases (28%).All cases were also divided into two types:substance invasion type(25 cases,33%)and renal pelvis type(5 1 cases,67%).The occurrence rate of local low enhancement,whole kidney low enhancement,hydronephrosis,lymph node metastasis and vein tumor thrombus were 80%,20%,48%,52%,1 6% in substance invasion type cases,and 4%,42%, 75%,4%,6% in the renal pelvis type cases,respectivily.Conclusion MSCT multiphase enhancement scanning shows important valuation in the diagnosis and classification of renal pelvis carcinoma.Obvious differences of CT features are showed for different types.The diagnosis accuracy may be improved by the knowledge of substance invasion type.

Objective To evaluate the safety and clinical efficacy of retroperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) in patients with incidental renal cell carcinoma.Methods Twenty-six patients with T1 incidental renal cell carcinoma treated with retroperitoneal LPN from Dec.2011 to Oct.2013 were analyzed retrospectively.The operation time,warm ischemia time,intraoperative blood loss,complications and prognosis of perioperative periods were collected.Results All 26 cases were operated successfully without conversion to open or other surgery.The operation period was 90-190 minutes.Blockage of renal artery was applied in all 26 cases,and the warm ischemia time was 15-30 minutes.The intraoperative blood loss was 100-360 ml.The drainage was removed 3-7 days postoperatively,and the hospitalization period was 7-12 days.All cases were clear cell renal cell carcinoma by pathological examinations,and showed negative surgical margins.No complications such as postoperative bleeding,inflammation and leakage of urine were occurred.All cases had normal renal function during the follow-up of 3-25 months without local recurrence or distant metastasis.Conclusion Retroperitoneal LPN for the treatment of T1 incidental renal cell carcinoma is worthy of application with the advantages of safety,minimal invasiveness,fewer complications,quick recovery and good nephron-sparing functional recovery.
