1.ENDOCRINE-PARACRINE CELLS IN THE SEMINAL VESICLES OF THE GUINEA PIG
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
Endocrine-paracrine (EP) cells, also known as APUD or neuroendocrine cells, have been known to exist in the mammalian genito-urinary system. A fairly common localization is in the prostate and urethra. In this study we demonstrated for the first time the presence of small number of EP cells in the dissociated epithelial cells of the seminal vesicles of the guinea pig. The EP cells exhibited yellow FIF, while a few green or yellow-green FIF cells can be observed after L-dopa treatment. They were stained positive by the Masson-Fontana's method but consistently negative with the Grimelius silver methods indicating that they were of argentaffin nature or other paracrine cells.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 1998;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the immune changes of interleukin-6(IL-6) of placentae and amnion in severe pregnancy-induced hypertension(PIH) and fetal growth retardation(FGR). Methods Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect IL-6 mRNA levls of placentae and amnion. Results The level of IL-6 mRNA in placentae and amnion in severe PIH group (0.71?0.07,0.81?0.02) are significantly lower than those in normal group(P0.05). Conclusions IL-6 is involved in the immune injury in severe PIH. The decreased levels of IL-6 in placentae and amnion may be the cause of fetal growth retardation

Objective To explore the curative effect of prealbumin (PA) in the hand-foot-and-mouth dis-ease and analysis its value in monitoring and prognosing this disease. Method Detect levels of serum PA of 390 ca-ses of children before, after and during the treatment and compare the changes during the treatment. Then observe the prognosis. Results There are significant difference of PV levels between cases of different prognosis (P < 0.05). Conclusion The PV levels of children of hand-foot-and-mouth disease will change significantly after effective treat- ment. There are clinical significance in observing and prognosing the hand-foot-and-mouth disease by detecting the se-rum PV levels.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(05):-
Object A novel microwave-heated extraction (MHE) method was studied for the extraction of glycyrrhizic acid from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. Methods Several factors, such as temperature, time and microwave power were investigated and the appropriate MHE conditions were obtained from the orthogonal test. Under the optimum conditions, the optimal solvent was selected and the MHE was compared with ultrasonic extraction, leaching at room temperature and Soxhlet extraction,. Results The optimum conditions of MHE is extracting for another 40 min in 0.5% ammonia water after heated to 60 ℃ by microwave of 2 000 W. Yield of glycyrrhizic acid was about equal to that of Soxhlet extraction for 4 h, and that of leaching at room temperature for 44.3 h. Conclusion The MHE method is fast, efficient, energy-saving and high-selective, which is recommendable to the application to active compounds extraction from Chinese herbal medicines.

OBJECTIVE: To prepare Oxymatrine enteric-coated pellets.METHODS: The coating conditions such as the rotation speed, the coating temperature as well as the pressure of spray gun were optimized through single factor experiment;the properties of different coating solutions of resins were compared to optimize the coating material. The enteric-coated pellets were prepared by bed coating technology. The coating effect was evaluated by the dissolution in vitro. RESULTS: The optimal coating conditions were as follows: the rotation speed of the coating pan was 50 r?min-1,the coating temperature was 30 ℃,the pressure of spray gun was 0.10 MPa;the coating material was polyacrylic resin(Huzhou Ⅲ).The in vitro dissolution of the enteric-coated pellets prepared by the bed coating technology met the requirements specified in the Chinese Pharmacopeia(2005 edition).CONCLUSION: By using the bed coating technology, the enteric-coated pellets with good dissolution in vitro can be obtained.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2016;29(7):688-692
Objective The protein kinase C ( PKC) is an essential signaling substance in the early protection of cells in pre-conditioning.This study was to investigate the role of PKC in the myocardial cells of the rat model of anoxia -reoxygenation (A-R) in-jury preconditioned with sufentanil . Methods Primary myocardial cells isolated and cultured for 5 days were allocated to a control , an A-R, a sufentanil preconditioning ( SF) , and a phorbol+sufentanil preconditioning ( PMA +SF) group. The A-R injury model was established with cultured myocardial cells from neonatal rats , which were preconditioned with sufentanil at the concentration of 0.000 3 μmol/L in the SF group or phorbol followed by sufentanil 10 minutes later in the PMA +SF group. Then the proliferation of the cells was detected , the optical density of the Cx 43 protein observed by immunofluorescence confocal technology , the apoptosis rate of the cells determined by flow cytometry, and the total Cx43 proteins calculated by Western blot. Results Cell proliferation was signifi-cantly increased in the A-R, SF, and PMA+SF groups as compared with the control (P<0.05), higher in the SF and PMA +SF than in the A-R group (0.498 0 ±0.0432 4 and 0.7240 ±0.1234 vs 0.325 8 ±0.023 5, P<0.05), and in the SF than in the PMA+SF group (P<0.05).Flow cytometry showed significantly increased rates of early , late, and total cell apoptosis in the A -R ([4.96 ±0.59], [18.77 ±0.92], and [23.73 ±0.51]%), SF ([5.86 ±0.38], [10.37 ±0.38], and [16.23 ±0.32]%), and PMA+SF group ([5.71 ±0.58], [5.54 ±0.43], [11.24 ±0.62]%) as compared with the control (P<0.05), remarkably lower in the SF and PMA +SF than in the A-R group (P<0.05), and the late and total cell apoptosis rates markedly lower in the SF than in the PMA+SF group (P<0.05). Conclusion Sufentanil has a protective effect and PKC agonists combined with sufentanil may add to the effect on myocardial cells in A -R injury.

Objective To investigate the expression of P16 and CD44 in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and their relationship with the prognosis of patients. Methods The GIST specimens of seventy patients who received surgical excision were collected. Tissue microarray of the seventy GIST samples was constructed. The expression of P16 and CD44 were detected by the immunohistochemical staining. The patients were followed up via out-patient examination and telephone. Results All the patients were followed up for 2-212 months, and the median time for follow-up was 68 months. The differences of the expression of P16 in GISTs among NIH risk ranks were insignificant (P > 0.05). The differences of the expression of CD44 in GISTs among NIH risk ranks were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Univariate analysis showed that tumor size, mitotic count, tumor location, NIH risk rank, the expression of P16 and CD44 were related to the prognosis of GIST patients. Multivariate showed that tumor size, mitotic count, tumor location, and the expression of CD44 was independent prognosis factors of GIST patients. Conclusion CD44 could be used as a biomarker in predicting the prognosis of GIST patients.
