DNA double strand breaks are potentially lethal DNA lesions induced by ionizing radiation, which can be repaired by homologous recombination and non- homologous end joining. Inhibition of the expression and function of genes in double strand breaks repair pathways using RNA interference and anti- sense techniques could improve the radiosensitivity of cancer cells.

Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) has been increasingly used in the treatment of early-stage NSCLC,especially for patients who cannot undergo surgery.Compared with other imaging modalities,PET/CT has higher sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis and staging of NSCLC as well as higher prediction value for prognosis.The progress of 18F-FDG PET/CT in evaluation of the therapeutic response and prognosis after SBRT for early-stage NSCLC is summarized in this review.

Hypoxia is an inherent feature of the majority of solid tumors,which can increase the resistance of tumor cells to radiotherapy and chemotherapy,promote tumor angiogenesis and lead to poor prognosis.Therefore,targeting the hypoxic tumor cells has become a spot in cancer therapy.Bioreduction drugs can be activated by a specific reduction to become cytotoxic metabolites,thus killing hypoxic tumor cells,while small molecular targeting inhibitors can selectively act on the key point of hypoxia pathway.They have paved a new way for hypoxia targeted therapy.

Objective: To examine the effect of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on lipid metabolism and genes expression of fatty acid transport protein(FATP)and acyl-CoA synthase(ACS) in white adipose tissue of rats. Method: Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, high-fat group and high fat +CLA group (0.75,1.50,3.00 g/100g bw). By reverse transcription polymerse chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique the expression levels of FATP, ACS and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-?(PPAR?) mRNA were detected. Results: Serum FFA,insulin and glucose levels of rats fed with high fat diet were higher than those of control group. Supplement of CLA can decrease serum FFA, insulin and glucose levels of obese rats, and increase expression of FATP,ACS and PPAR?mRNA in adipose tissue of obese rats. Conclusion: CLA can improve insulin resistance of obese rat and increase expression of FATP,ACS mRNA, possibly acting through activating PPAR?.

Objective To investigate the relationship between carotid artery atherosclerosis and risk factor in a young and middle-aged population in China who received health checkup.Methods A total of 762 cases of young and middle-aged adult were recruited between April and October in 2013.These subjects had no hypertension,diabetes,coronary heart disease,cerebrovascular disease,and connective tissue disease,etc.Their Blood pressure,serum glucose (Glu),total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were measured and carotid artery ultrasonography was performed.Of the 762 cases,589 were male,173 were female,mean age was (46 ± 9) years.For blood pressure,blood lipids,the t test was performed to detect the difference between arteriosclerosis group and non arteriosclerosis group in different age groups.Logistic regression was performed to reveal the risk factors with carotid arteriosclerosis.Results Of the 762 subjects,205 had carotid artery atherosclerosis; 30.2％ (178/589) of them were men and 15.6％(27/173) of them were women,with a significant difference between two groups,(x2=14.522,P=0.000).In the younger than 40 years old group,the diastolic blood pressure has statistical significance between carotid arteriosclerosis and non carotid arteriosclerosis group (t=-2.789,P＜ 0.05); blood sugar had statistically significant difference between the two groups (t value was-2.256,-2.930,-2.174,respectivly,P＜0.05).Multiple regression analysis revealed that the independent risk factors for carotid artery arteriosclerosis were age,sex,DBP,and Glu.The regression coefficients were 0.993,0.711,0.047,0.334 seperately.The ROC curve of age was analyzed,the area under the ROC curve was 0.731,cut-off was 51 years old.Conclusions Routine carotid artery ultrasound should be performed for older than 50 healthy middle-aged men,to determine whether arteriosclerosis exists,especially for people with abnormal blood glucose or elevated DBP.

Objective:To explore diagnostic value of nocturnal ST-T changes in 24h dynamic electrocardiogram (DCG)for coronary heart disease (CHD)and its clinical significance.Methods:A total of 103 cases,who showed ST-T changes in 24h DCG,received selective coronary angiography (CAG).Among them,the 56 patients with in-termittent nighttime significant ST-T changes were regarded as research group,while the other 47 patients with per-sistent ST-T changes were treated as control group.CAG results were compared and analyzed between two groups. Results:Compared with control group,there were significant rise in CAG positive rate (31.9% vs.67.9%),inci-dence rates of dyspnea and chest pain (27.7% vs.66.1%),hypertension (48.9% vs.71.4%),hyperlipidemia (31.9% vs.42.9%)and diabetes mellitus (17.0% vs.46.4%),percentages of lesions in left anterior descending artery (LAD,21.3% vs.57.1%),left circumflex coronary artery (LCX,14.8% vs.37.5%)and right coronary artery (RCA,12.8% vs.35.7%)in research group,P <0.05 or <0.01. Conclusion:Nocturnal ST-T signifieantly changes in 24h DCG,it possesses more diagnostic value for CHD,which can be regarded as a more sensitive index diagnosing myocardial ischemia.

Objective To investigate the job stressors and burnout of senior nurses, and explore the possible strategies for alleviating stress and reduction of demission rate of senior nurses. Methods Two hundred and thirty head nurses and senior nurses were included in this study. Nurse Job Stressors Inventory (NJSI) and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) were applied to evaluate the burnout and work-related stress of nurses with the combination of convenience sampling and cluster sampling. Results The NJSI scores of senior nurses and head nurses were (2.62 ± 0.56) points, (2.45 ± 0.47) points, the two scores were significantly different (t=-2.465,P<0.05); the scores of three dimensions of MBI in senior nurses were (30.01±11.86) points, (8.01±5.74) points, (35.35±9.57) points, while the scores in head nurses were (21.65±10.39) points, (5.14±3.37) points, (38.81±8.45) points. Statistically significant difference was seen between the two groups (t=-5.261,-4.705, 2.691,P<0.05). There was a higher positive correlation between job stressors and burnout of senior nurses (r=0.521) than head nurses (r=0.432). Conclusions The level of job burnout is higher in senior nurses than head nurses, attributing to the higher controllability of head nurses. It is suggested to reduce the job burnout of senior nurses and to keep senior nurses in the profession fields, based on the theory of magnetic hospital.

Objective To investigate the influential factors of brachial-ankle artery pulse wave velocity (baPWV) in healthy individuals.Methods Total 716 healthy subjects including 503 males and 213 females,who underwent health check up in 2010,were enrolled in the study Bilateral baPWV was examined in all subjects and multiple factor linear regression was applied to evaluate the correlations of baPWV with sex,age,body mass index,arterial blood pressure,ankle-brachial index and biochemical variables.Results The mean baPWV of 716 healthy subjecs was ( 1224 ± 162) cm/s,and there was significant difference between men and women [ ( 1257 ± 159) cm/s vs.( 1144 ± 143) cm/s].There was a significant linear correlation of baPWV with sex,age,mean arterial blood pressure and plasma homocysteine concentration ; and the linear regression equation was:mean PWV =6.635 × age + 7.285 × mean arterial blood pressure + 2.682 × homocysteine concentration - 64.334 × sex + 347.500 ( sex:man =0,woman =1 ).Conclusion Age,sex,mean arterial blood pressure and plasma homocysteine concentration are independent influential factors of baPWV.

Objective To explore the effect of 10％ and 25％ oral glucose on neonatal pain during blood sampling through radial artery.Methods 90 newborns were randomly divided into group A,B and C,each group with 30 cases.2 min before the blood sampling,group A was offered 2ml 10％ oral glucose,group B was offered 2ml 25％ oral glucose,and group C was offered 2ml plain boiled water by oral intake.Pain was evaluated based on Neonatal Facial Coding System (NFCS),Neonatal Infant Pain Scale(NIPS),raise of heart rate and crying cases.Results The scores of NIPS during puncture,the scores of NFCS and NIPS after puncture,the raise of heart rate and crying cases were significantly different between three groups.Group B were lower than group A and group C,while differences between group A and group C had no statistical significance.Conclusions During blood sampling through radial artery,offering newboms 2ml 25％ oral glucose can reduce the pain,while 2ml 10％ oral glucose was ineffective.

Background Endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation(ECP) is a new approach to treat refractory glaucoma.But,the histopathological change of ciliary body after ECP has not been reported yet.ObjectivePurpose of the present study is to explore the histopathologic change of ciliary body after ECP and investigate the mechanism of lowing intraocular pressure(IOP) of ECP and compared with trans-scleral cyclophotocoagulation (TSCP).MethodECP was performed on the right eyes of 30 adult pigmented rabbits and TSCP was taken in the fellow eyes.Other two normal pigmented rabbits were as control group.The clinical examinations were performed in day 1,3,5,7,14,28,42 and 56 after operation under the slim lamp to evaluate the inflammatory reactions of conjunctiva,sclera and cornea,and the IOP was detected in the same time points.The animals were sacrificed and the eyeballs were extracted for the examination of structure of ciliary body under the light microscope in day 7,14,28,42 and 56 after surgery respectively.ResultsThe mild inflammatory response and local opacity of lens were seen under the slim lamp in the eyes after ECP,and severe inflammatory reaction was in the eyes received TSCP.No opacity of lens was found after TSCP through the observing period.The lowing-IOP extent was significantly higher in ECP group than TSCP group after operation(P＜0.01).The structure of ciliary body epithelium was normal in normal rabbit eyes.The disruption of ciliary body epithelium,especially for non-pigment epithelial layer,edema of ciliary process were seen in the early period after ECP.Fourty-two days later,the irregulation of ciliary body epithelium and atrophy of ciliary process were exhibited under the light microscope.In TSCP group,the edema,blooding and damage of ciliary process were seen,but slight inflammatory response was in the ciliary epithelium.After 42 days of surgery,atrophy of ciliary body,irregular proliferation of pigmental and non-pigmental epithelial cells,thinness of sclera and scarring of ciliary stroma were revealed.ConclusionCompared with TSCP,ECP can selectively destroy ciliary epithelium effectively and thoroughly and therefore reduce IOP.The adverse effect of ECP is the opacity of lens.Less damage of adjacent tissue is found in ECP compared with TSCP.
