1.Hardware Implementation of Numerical Simulation Function of Hodgkin-Huxley Model Neurons Action Potential Based on Field Programmable Gate Array.

Neuron is the basic unit of the biological neural system. The Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) model is one of the most realistic neuron models on the electrophysiological characteristic description of neuron. Hardware implementation of neuron could provide new research ideas to clinical treatment of spinal cord injury, bionics and artificial intelligence. Based on the HH model neuron and the DSP Builder technology, in the present study, a single HH model neuron hardware implementation was completed in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The neuron implemented in FPGA was stimulated by different types of current, the action potential response characteristics were analyzed, and the correlation coefficient between numerical simulation result and hardware implementation result were calculated. The results showed that neuronal action potential response of FPGA was highly consistent with numerical simulation result. This work lays the foundation for hardware implementation of neural network.

2.How does autophagy activation affect the apoptosis, proliferation and cycle of endothelial progenitor cells in rats?

BACKGROUND:Previous studies have reported that rapamycin can affect the proliferation, migration and adhesion abilities of endothelial progenitor cels, but there is no report on the effect of autophagy, as wel as the interaction between autophagy and apoptosis. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of rapamycin activated autophagy activation on the proliferation, apoptosis, and cycle of endothelial progenitor cels. METHODS:Density gradient centrifugation was used to obtain mononuclear cels from bone marrow, and the mononuclear cels were inoculated on human fibronectin-coated culture plate.Then after cultured for 7 days the adherent cels colected were the endothelial progenitor cels. Different concentrations of rapamycin (0.01, 0.1, 1 and 10 μg/L) were added and cultured for 24 hours. Western blot was used to detect the LC3-II protein expression and monitor the induction of autophagy, flow cytometry was used to observe the cel cycle progression and apoptosis changes, and methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide colorimetric assay was used to observe the proliferation ability. Meanwhile, the ultrastructural changes were observed under transmission electron microscope. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control group, there was no significant increasing of LC3-II protein expression of endothelial progenitor cels in 0.01 μg/L rapamycin group, and the LC3-II protein expression was in the high level. The LC3-IIprotein expression in the 1 μg/L and 10 μg/L rapamycin groups was higher than that in the control group, but lower than that in the 0.01 μg/L rapamycin group, which indicated that autophagywas particularly active when the concentration of rapamycin was 0.01 μg/L. The apoptosis of endothelial progenitor cels was increased with the increasing of concentration of rapamycin, and the proliferation rate was decreased with the increasing of concentration of rapamycin. The results indicate that activation of autophagy by bapamycin can promote the cel apoptosis, change the cel cycle significantly, and can inhibit the proliferation of endothelial progenitor cels.
3.Study on the Relationship between Patients with Hepatitis B Viral Loads and Immunoglobulin A,G,M and Complement C3,C4

Objective To investigate the relationship between Hepatitis B patients with different viral loads and immunoglob-ulin A,G,M and complement C3,C4.Methods Firstly,followed by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR detection 210 cases of hepatitis B patients with HBV-DNA levels,according to 10n copies/ml different viral load detection results,it was divided into 102 ~108 copies/ml of the experimental groups.Then the experimental groups and control group were simulta-neously detected in immunoglobulin A,G,M and complement C3,C4.Analysed the correlation between HBV loads and im-munoglobulin A,G,M and complement C3,C4.Results When the viral loads of hepatitis B patients were 105 ~108 copies/ml,the testing results of IgA,IgG and IgM were both increasing (U =12.43,10.96,6.42,P <0.01),while C3 and C4 were both decreasing (U =8.37,6.0,P <0.01).When the viral loads of hepatitis B patients were 102 ~ 104 copies/ml,only IgA and IgM were increasing (U =2.36,2.04,P <0.05),the other testing results had no statistical significance.Between the test of 7 experimental groups compared with each other,only 104 group and 105 group had significantly changed (IgA and IgM were increasing,C4 was decreasing,U =2.39,2.46,2.09,P <0.05,IgG was increasing,U = 3.25,P <0.01),but between other low viral loads or high viral loads were not significantly differences.Conclusion The different viral loads of hepatitis B patients could cause the different changes of immunoglobulin A,G,M and complement C3,C4,especially in the 4 groups from 105 to 108 copies/ml.Followed by increasing in viral loads,there were immunoglobulin A,G,M increasing and comple-ment C3,C4 decreasing,and also serious impaction on the immune function of organism.There was a positive correlation be-tween viral loads in vivo and immune damages,correlation coefficient (γ =0.967,P <0.01).When the viral loads from 104 to 105 copies/ml,the testing results had changed significantly.It suggest that should control viral loads under 104 copies/ml in the hepatitis B antiviral treatment,so the effect of immune function damage will be the minimum.

5.Healthy City construction survey among residents living in Hangzhou City

Objective:
To investigate the awareness of and participation in Healthy City construction among residents in Hangzhou City, so as to provide insights into promotion of participation in Healthy City construction.
Methods:
Residents at ages of 15 to 75 years were sampled using the multi-stage stratified random sampling method, from 30 townships in Jianggan, Xiaoshan and Tonglu counties of Hangzhou City from November 2019 to July 2020, and a questionnaire survey of 10 representative projects pertaining to Healthy City construction in Hangzhou City was performed to investigate the awareness of and participation in Healthy City construction.
Results:
A total of 5 559 questionnaires were allocated, and 5 211 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 93.74%. The respondents had a mean age of ( 43.82±17.25 ) years, and included 2 280 males ( 43.75% ) and 2 931 females ( 56.25% ). The overall standardized awareness and participation rates of Healthy City construction were 81.73% and 48.58% among the respondents. The projects with the three highest awareness included healthy environment improvements ( 92.67% ), travelling by public transportation ( 92.22% ) and tobacco control action ( 91.04% ), while the projects with the three lowest awareness included chronic disease management ( 75.57% ), maternal and child healthcare ( 72.73% ) and “Healthy Cell” Program ( 45.56% ). The projects with the three highest participation rates included travelling by public transportation ( 74.59% ), healthy environment improvements ( 65.17% ), tobacco control action ( 61.52% ), while the projects with the three lowest participation rate included chronic disease management ( 35.92% ), “Healthy Cell” Program ( 34.96% ) and maternal and child healthcare ( 33.20% ).
Conclusions
The overall proportion of participation in Healthy City construction is low among residents in Hangzhou City, and notably, the awareness rate of and the proportion of participation in chronic disease management, maternal and child healthcare and “Healthy cell” Program are both low.
6.Rapamycin and PD98059 collaborative inhibit mammalian target of rapamycin pathway in the prevention and treatment of mouse colorectal cancer

Objective To investigate the combined inhibition effect and the potential mechanism of rapamycin (mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor) and PD98059 (mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinase kinase (MEK) inhibitor) on mouse colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods S-ICR mice were subcutaneously injected with 20 mg/kg of 1,2-dimethylhydrazine dihydrochloride in the nape for 20 weeks to induce CRC. From the 16th week, the mice were treated with alone or combined injection with 0.25 mg/kg rapamycin and 2.5 mg/kg PD98059. The drugs were administered for 8 weeks. Subsequently, the animals were sacrificed and dissected, the tumor sizes were measured, and the tumors were harvested for pathological assay. Furthermore, the phosphorylation of mTOR, p70S6K, and 4E-BPl proteins was detected by using immunohistoehemistry. Results The mice treated with rapamycin (44. 44 %) or PD 98059 (either alone (38.89%) or combination treatment (6.67%) were significantly less likely to develop cancer compared with mice receiving none of them (77.78%, P<0. 05). The average size of tumors was (6.15±2. 192), (8.85±3. 983), (2.917±0. 191), (16.36±6.855) mm3 respectively (P<0.05).The anti-cancer effect of the combination treatment was substantially significant. The proteins of phospho-mTOR, phospho-p70s6K and phospho-4E-BPl were significantly down-regulated after treatments (all P values < ,0.05). Conclusions Combined treatment was more effective than single-drug treatments of rapamycin or PD98059 alone for the prevention and treatment of mouse CRC. The mTOR signal pathway might be involved in the inhibitory mechanism.
7.Total knee arthroplasty for terminal knee disease:short-term follow-up

BACKGROUND:In recent decades, total knee arthroplasty is widely used in the treatment of terminal knee joint diseases, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, traumatic arthritis and other bone diseases. The methods of osteotomy, soft tissue balance and prosthesis rotation positioning have always been debated and discussed in total knee arthroplasty. OBJECTIVE:To explore the repair effect of total knee arthroplasty for terminal knee disease. METHODS:Total knee arthroplasty was performed for treating terminal knee disease in 31 cases (31 knees), including 26 cases of osteoarthritis (26 knees) and 5 cases of rheumatoid arthritis (5 knees). Al cases accompanied flexion contracture deformity to different degrees. The maximum angle of flexion deformity was < 25°. Al patients were scored by hospital for special surgery knee score before and after replacement. Al 31 knees were treated with fixed platform posterior-stabilized prostheses. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:No complications, such as early infection and prosthesis dislocation, were found after surgery. Joint pain apparently lessened, flexion and varus deformity obviously improved after replacement. Postoperative X-ray films showed good prosthesis position and low limb alignment. Al cases were folowed up for 6-12 months. The hospital for special surgery knee score improved significantly from preoperatively 46.4±5.3 to postoperatively 84.6±10.5 after 6 months of folow-up. Excelent and good rate was 84%. Results indicate that total knee arthroplasty for treating terminal knee disease has a good clinical effect. However, the operation is complex and precise technique is required.
8.Post -hemodialytic urea rebound and its impact factors in maintenance hemodialysis patients

Objective To study the urea rebound after hemodialysis in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients and its impact factors. Methods From 124 stable MHD patients, blood samples were collected at the beginning, immediate post-hemodialysis, 15 minutes and 30 minutes after hemodialysis. The urea rebound was quantified, and its effect on URR and spKt/V was investigated. The impact factors on urea rebound were analyzed. Results In this group of patients, average post-hemodialytic urea rebound was 13.6%, leading to over-estimation of URR and spKt/V of 0.04 and 0.14, respectively. Hemodialysis efficiency expressed as K/V determined urea rebound most significantly. Other impact factors included higher hemoglobin, higher relative ultrafiltration, arteriovenous access, and male patients. Conclusions Urea rebound is common after the hemodialysis. For specific patients and hemodialysis sessions, ignoring it would result in significant over-estimation of delivered hemodialysis dose.

Professor WEI Pin-kang has engaged in prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors through intrgrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for more than forty years. According to the characteristics of the gastric cancer development and using the philosophy thinking of TCM comparative states, combined with the ancient theory of phlegm syndrome in TCM, Professor WEI Pin-kang put foward his original theory that is the concept of phlegm differentiation of gastric cancer theory, and built the theory of the stomach sputum pollution, which can renovate the body's environment, eradicating the cause and improving the quality of life for cancer patients.
10.Analysis of sperm morphology and semen quality of patients with varicocele in varying degrees

Objective To evaluate the semen quality and sperm morphology in the patients with different grades of varicocele. Methods Semen from 121 patients with varicocele which were divided into three groups, gradel, grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ, were studied and those of 23 normal male were taken as the control. Semen analysis was performed with the methods described in the WHO manual and sperm morphology was evaluated by WHO cri-teria. Results A significant reduction of semen quality and sperm morphology and an increase of small oval head, tapering head and amorphous head sperm were found in patients with different grades of varicocele compa-ring with those of the control. There was no difference in routine analysis between different groups. A reducetion of normal morphology percentage in grade Ⅲ were found comparing with grade Ⅱ (P<0.01). An increase of a-morphous head sperm in grade Ⅲ was found comparing with that of sperm in grade Ⅱ (P <0.01). Canclusions The routine semen analysis can not distinguish seminal damage between different grades of varicocele, but the sperm morphology can reflect the sperm state. Therefore, the patients with varicocele should not only get routine semen analysis but also check the sperm morphology.
