3.The forming and remembering methods of medical English vocabulary
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(7):844-846
Medical English is a kind of professional English. Its technical terms are always too long to remember easily. For those who are aiming at mastering such professional English, memorizing words efficiently and scientifically is especially important. While medical terms are closely connected with common English words, they have some of their own forming characters. If these specialities are understood and used properly, the remembering work will become easier, firmer and more accurate.
4.Analysis of HIV infection status among outpatients of a general hospital in Yangzhou
International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2014;(13):1745-1746
Objective To understand the distribution characteristics of HIV infection status among the outpatients in this hospi-tal to provide the beneficial supplement for local large-scale survey and the basis especially for the hospital infection control.Meth-ods The HIV screening situation on the outpatients of our hospital from 2007 to 2012 was retrospectively analyzed. Results Dur-ing these 6 years,108 999 specimens were detected,88 cases were positive in the preliminary screening and 81 cases were confirmed positive. The positive rate of anti-HIV antibody was 0.074%.In addition to voluntary counseling and testing, the specimens submit-ted by the outpatient anorectal department and the inpatient hematology department had the higher positive detection rate, which was 1.16% and 0.84% respectively. Conclusion The HIV infection rate in non-infectious disease specialized hospitals shows the increasing trend. The key departments must increase the intensity of the medical staff training, pay attention to early diagnosis of HIV/AIDS,prevent the hospital infection and reduce the risk occurred after the occupation exposure.
5.Hepatectomy for large and giant hepatocellular carcinoma: a 20 years review
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2009;8(2):88-90
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common malignant cancer in China. The size of HCC can be categorized into 4 grades: (1) micro-HCC, the diameter of the HCC is ≤2 cm; (2) small HCC, the diameter of the HCC is between 2 and 5 cm; (3) large HCC, the diameter of the HCC is between 5 and 10 cm; (4) giant HCC, the diameter of the HCC is > 10 era. The new classification helps to choose the appropriate methods and to analyze the curative effect for various kinds of HCC respectively. The resection of large and giant HCC is safe and feasible. During the past 20 years, we have modified and innovated some techniques of HCC surgery, including hepatectomy without dissecting the hepatic hilus, increasing the safety time limit of portal pedicle occlusion from 15-20 minutes to 20-60 minutes, in situ bepatectomy with occlusion of hepatoduodenal ligament and infrahepatic vena cava, and double hanging maneuver techniques. The techniques mentioned above improved the bleeding control of hepatectomy, and enhanced the long-term survival rate of HCC patients.
6.Clinical evaluation of multimodality analgesia for patients undergoing radical resection of colon cancer
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2014;37(29):57-59
Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of multimodality analgesia for patients undergoing radical resection of colon cancer. Methods Seventy patients aged 46-75 years old, undergoing the radical resection of colon cancer were divided randomly into two groups:the trial group (parecoxib preemptive analgesia and ropivacaine local analgesia combined with sufentanil patient-controlled intravenous analgesia) and the control group (sufentanil patient-controlled intravenous analgesia only),each group of 35 patients. The visual analogue scale (VAS) and the usage amount of sufentanil were recorded at 12,24,48 h after operation. The number of unsatisfied demand and the number of successfully delivered doses, sufentanil consumption at 12 h and 24 h after operation, the patients' global evaluation of the postoperative analgesia and adverse effects related to analgesia were recorded and compared between the two groups. Results The VAS scores at 12,24 h after operation in trial group were lower than those in control group [(3.1 ± 1.0) scores vs.(4.0 ± 1.3) scores,(2.8 ± 1.4) scores vs.(3.7 ± 1.2) scores].The degree of satisfaction in trial group was higher than that in control group(P < 0.05).The demand and the number of successfully delivered doses and the usage amount of sufentanil in trail group were significantly lower than those in control group (P < 0.05).The incidence of respiratory depression, nausea and vomitting in trial group were significantly lower than those in control group[0 vs.5.7%(2/35),2.9%(1/35) vs.11.4% (4/35)] (P < 0.05).Conclusion Multimodality analgesia may have the good analgesic effect in the patients undergoing radical resection of colon cancer, and with fewer adverse events.
