1.Effect of vascular endothelial growth factor-C on invasive capability and proliferation of human cholangiocarcinoma cells
Chinese Journal of Current Advances in General Surgery 1999;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate the effect of vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) on invasive capability and proliferation of human cholangiocarcinoma cells. Methods: The effect of VEGF-C on FRH0201 was assayed by MTT. The cycle pattern and apoptosis was assayed using flow cytometry. The effect of VEGF-C on homotypic adhesion and metastasis in FRH0201 was examined with 3H-TdR infiltration and Boyden chamber. Results: VEGF-C could enhance the proliferation of FRH0201 in a dose and time dependent manner. And VEGF-C could inhibit cell apoptosis significantly. After cultured for 2 hours with 1, 5, 10ng/ml of VEGF-C, there were more cells in the lower chamber than the control group. After 60, 90, 120 minutes induction by 1ng/ml、5ng/ml、10ng/ml, the cells showed significantly lower homotypic adhesion than that of the control group. Conclusions: VEGF-C could enhance the proliferation of FRH0201 and inhibit cell apoptosis. VEGF-C could decrease homotypic adhesion of FRH0201 and might be a cause of the metastasis.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2014;(11):1478-1479
Objective To improve EP9-A2 for Bias estimation among multiple quantitative detection systems within full range of AMR.Methods 40 patients specimens were determined twice for serum total cholesterol by four detection systems(A,B,C and D).With system A served as comparative method,Bias between A and the other three was evaluated according to CLSI EP9-A2 separately.Furthermore,DD(distance from deviation to tolerable error)and its average confidence intervals between every two sys-tem were calculated and compared with zero. The confidence interval of greater than zero was served as criteria for accepting bias between every two system. Results Bias between A and the other three meet the analytical quality specification according to EP9-A2,although that of D system was positive, and those of B and C system were negative.DD between every two system obeyed nor-mality distribution. All biases between every two system wes acceptable except that between B and D,causing of their interval con-taining zero. After correcting of results from system D,Biases between every two system were all acceptable.Plots of confidence in-terval could provide a full range bias assessment within AMR.Conclusion Comparability and Bias estimation in full range of AMR for results between every two system among 3 or more systems could be evaluated by confidence intervals.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the causes and preventive measures of postoperative pneumonia due to cervical part and upper thoracic part esophageal carcinoma surgery. METHODS Fifty seven cases with cervical part or upper thoracic part esophageal carcinoma from 2001 to 2005 were studied restropectively. RESULTS One patient died of aspiration pneumonia, one died of anastomotic leakage, and three died of adult respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).The tracheotomy and mechanical ventilation were applied.Pneumonia was confirmed among sixteen patients at different degree. CONCLUSIONS Many causes contribute to postoperative pneumonia on patients with cervical part or thoracic part esophageal carcinoma, and the lesion of recurrent nerve is an important reason.Protection of recurrent nerve may decrease postoperative pneumonia.

Objective To study the relationship between neurodevelopment and early nutritional status of very low birth weight(VLBW)infants in NICU.Methods VLBW infants admitted to NICU of our hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 and received regular follow-up management at our high-risk infant outpatient clinic were retrospectively studied. All infantsˊdevelopmental quotient ( DQ) were evaluated at 3 months of corrected gestational age ( cGA) . DQ ≥130 was defined as excellent, 115-129 above medium, 85-114 medium, 70 -84 below medium and ≤69 abnormal. According to their DQ scores, infants were assigned into two groups, normal neurodevelopment group ( DQ≥85 ) and abnormal neurodevelopment group ( DQ<85 ) . Nutritional status during hospitalization between the two groups were compared. Results A total of 125 VLBW infants were recruited. At three months of cGA, 2 cases ( 1. 6℅) had excellent DQ score; 3 ( 2. 4℅) above medium; 63 ( 50. 4℅) medium;57 (45. 6℅) below medium. 68 cases (54. 4℅) in the normal development group and 57 (45. 6℅) in the abnormal group. The total energy intake, the proportion of enteral energy supply on 4 d, 7 d, 14 d after birth and amino acid supply on 4 d, 7 d were significantly higher in the normal neurodevelopment group than the abnormal group (P<0. 05). Comparing with the abnormal group, weight loss of VLBW infants in the normal neurodevelopment group was less; the time needed to reach birth weight and exclusive enteral nutrition in the normal neurodevelopment group was shorter. The differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions VLBW infantsˊearly nutritional status may influence their neurodevelopmental outcome.
