Objective To evaluate the effects of different interventions on and influencing factors of picky eaters aged 1 to 5 years old.Methods Two hundred and forty-seven individuals were randomly assigned to the Identification and Management of Feeding Difficulties (IMFeD) group (n =147) and the control group (n =100).The IMFeD group received comprehensive guidance once a month,3 times in total;while the control group had traditional eating guidance.Scores of the IMFeD group were compared with the control group.Multivariate method was used for data analysis.Results Behavior scores of the IMFeD group were 4.7 ± 1.1 at baseline and 9.5 ± 2.6 after the intervention ; although behavior scores of the control group were 4.9 ± 1.1 at baseline and 6.6 ± 2.3 following the routine guidance (F =32.99,P ＜ 0.001).Univariate analysis showed that those two interventions significantly affected the outcomes of intervention (x2 =52.76,P ＜0.05).Regression analyses revealed an odds ratio (OR) of 6.171 (95％ confidence interval (CI) 3.652-10.428) or 0.448 (95％ CI:0.264-0.761) for intervention strategy and time with parents during their 1 year.Conclusion Family-based periodicity intervention may play an important role in eating behavior change and should be widely conducted in child health care.

Long non-coding RNA ( lncRNA ) is a group of RNAs that exceed 200 nt in length without protein coding capacity .The tumorigenesis and progression of colorectal carcinoma relate to the aberrant expres-sion of lncRNAs closely.In this review,we summarize researches in the current status of lncRNAs in human color-ectal carcinoma to provide potential evidences for future diagnosis and gene therapies .

AIM: To examine the effects of cigarette smo ke extract (CSE) and lipo polysaccharide (LPS) on the production of transforming growth factor-? 1 (TGF- ? 1 ) mRNA and protein in cultured human embryonic lung fibroblasts (HELF). METHODS: The cultured HELF were incubated with CSE, LPS or CSE in com bination with LP S for 24 hours at 37℃, respectively. The total RNA was extracted from the cells . The expression levels of TGF-? 1 mRNA were evaluated by reverse transcription - p olymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The mRNA levels of TGF-? 1 were corrected by GAPDH transcripts, and TGF-? 1 protein levels were determined by immunocytoch emistry. Objective: To assay the content and stability of vitamin C(VC) in serum by a simple, specific method. Methods: Serum samples were extracted by metaphosphoric acid, and analyzed on a column C 18 of HPLC with DAD detector at 234 nm. Mobile phase was 100 mmol/L KH 2PO 4, pH3.00. The flow rate was 1 ml/min. Results: Under this condition, the retention time of VC was 5.76 min. The within run and between run reproducibilities tests were 0.42% and 2.11% respectively, and the recovery rate ranged from 82% to 88.5%. Stored at -70 ℃ and compared to that of its metaphosphoric acid extract, serum VC content was stable only for two days, and then decreased rapidly, whereas it did not decrease in metaphosphoric acid extract until the fifth day. Conclusion: A simple, sensitive and reliable method of HPLC with DAD detector is established for measuring VC in either serum or fruit, such as orange juice. VC should be determined immediately or should be extracted with metaphosphoric acid as soon as possible, then the extracts are kept at -70 ℃, and analysed within 5 d.

Objective The study aimed to investigate the best extraction process and the analgesia and anti-inflammatory properties of total flavonoids from Euphorbia prolifera. Methods Through single factor experiment and orthogonal test,factors that affect the extraction yield of total flavonoids were studied,including the extraction time,solid to liquid ratio, ethanol concentration and extraction times. The mice models of ear edema induced by xylene and twisting induced by acetic acid were used to evaluate the analgesia and anti-inflammatory effects of different extractions from Euphorbia prolifera. Results Total flavonoids were extracted by the refluxing method,and the optimum conditions were extracting for 3 hours,solid to liquid ratio of 1:30,ethanol content of 60% in the solvent,and processed for 2 times. The highest extraction yield of total flavonoids from Euphorbia prolifera was 5. 63%. The ethanol,ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts decreased twisting and ear swelling in mice. Conclusion The extraction for total flavonoids from Euphorbia prolifera is simple,efficient and reproducible. The ethanol,ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of total flavonoids have obvious analgesia and anti-inflammatory effects.

OBJECTIVETo explore the impacts on the cognitive level of the children with mental retardation (MR) treated with JIN's three scalp needling therapy and the training for cognitive and perceptual disturbance so as to seek the more effective therapeutic method for the treatment of MR in children. Methods Sixty-six MR children were randomized into a head-point needle-retaining therapy + training group (group A) and a training after acupuncture group (group B). Seven cases and 12 cases were dropped in the two groups respectively. Twenty-six cases accomplished the treatment in the group A and 21 cases in the group B. In the group A, the points on the head were stimulated and the needles were retained (30 min after the general acupuncture, the needles on the body points were removed; and those on the head points were retained for 1 h, including Sishenzhen, Naosanzhen, Zhisanzhen and Niesanzhen). Simultaneously, the training for the cognitive perceptual disturbance was combined. In the group B, 1 h after needle retaining at the body points and head points, all the needles were removed; the training for the cognitive perceptual disturbance was followed. The treatment was given once a day, and the treatment for 3 months was required. Before and after treatment, the Wechsler intelligence scale for children (WISC) was used for evaluation and observation of verbal intelligence quotient (VIQ) , performance intelligence quotient (PIQ) and full-scale intelligence quotient (TFIQ) and score changes of 11 items such as information, picture vocabu; lary, arithmetic, picture generalization, comprehension, etc.

RESULTSAfter treatment, FIQ, VIQ and PIQ scores were different significantly as compared with those before treatment (all P<0. 01). In the group A, the results of picture vocabulary, animal egg laying, maze, block design and geometric figure were all improved significantly (all P<0. 05). In the group B, the results of information, comprehension, block design and geometric figure were all improved significantly (all P<0. 05). After treatment, concerning the value difference in FIQ and PIQ of the two groups; the changes in the group A were more significant (both P<0. 01). After treatment, the results of picture vocabulary and maze were improved significantly in the group A as compared with the group B (both P<. 01). The IQ categories changed apparently after treatment in the two groups, toward the higher level in tendency generally, but without significant difference (both P>0. 05).

CONCLUSIONThe simultaneous treatment with head point retaining of JIN's three needling therapy and the training for cognitive and perceptual disturbance obviously improves children patients' verbal comprehension, expression ability, hand-eye coordination ability, attention, logical reasoning ability and visual perception. The efficacy is better than that in the treatment of the training after acupuncture.

Objective To investigate the role of renin angiotensin system (RAS) in pathogenesis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Methods Twenty-four Wistar rats were evenly divided into control group and model group.The rats of control group were fed with normal diet,and model group were with high-fat diet.Rats were killed at the eighth week and serum liver function,blood lipid,glucose and insulin were tested.The liver tissues were stained with HE and Picro acid-Sirius red for pathological observation.The liver tissue concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ was determined by ELISA method and the expression of TGF-β1 in liver tissue was examined by immunohistochemistry.Results After eight weeks high fat feeding,weight,liver index,liver function,blood lipids and serum insulin of model group were significantly higher than those of control group (weight:(463.50±22.72) g vs.(404.29±10.32) g; liver index:(3.75±0.21) g vs.(2.66±0.15) g; ALT:(79.8±8.6) U/L vs.(58.8±11.6) U/L; AST:(200.01±51.72) U/L vs.(150.30±37.27) U/L; total cholesterol:(3.67±0.48) mmol/L vs.(1.50±0.23) mmol/L; triglycerides:(2.06±0.40) mmol/L vs.(0.71±0.34) mmol/L; insulin:(17.37±2.89) pmol/L vs.(11.08±2.12) pmol/L),and all the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.01).The histopathological results of model group indicated liver steatosis,inflammatory reaction in part of lobule and portal area and significant fibrosis in part of liver tissue.The liver tissue angiotonin Ⅱ concentration of model group [(32.80 ± 2.81)pg/ml] was higher than that of control group [(22.83 ± 1.75) pg/ml,t =9.559,P＜0.01].The immunohistochemistry results showed that the expression of TGF-β1 of model group was obviously higher than that of control group (Z=-2.540,P =0.011 ).Spearman correlation analysis revealed that the increasing degree of angiotensin Ⅱ concentration was positively correlated with liver steatosis scores (r=0.644,P=0.002) and the expression of TGF-β1 (r=0.470,P=0.037).Conclusion The concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ and TGF-β1 increased in the livers of model rats,which indicated that RAS may participate in the pathogenesis and progress of NAFLD.

Objective:To survey the expression of MMP-1,MMP-2 of human periodontal ligament cells(HPDLCs)treated by tea polyphenols(TP)and lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Methods:HPDLCs were in vitro cultured in vitro and treated by TP(200 μg/ml) and /or LPS(100 μg/ml)for 24,48 and 72 h respectively,the secretion of MMP-1 and MMP-2 were examined by ELISA,MMP-1 and MMP-2 mRNA expression was examined by real-time PCR.Results:The secression and mRNA expression of MMP-1 and MMP-2 of HPDLCs increased by LPS treatment and significantly inhibited by TP at the different times.Conclusion:TP can inhibit the col-lagen degradation of HPDLCs mediated by LPS.
