Objective To investigate the role of psychological intervention on cosmetic plastic surgery.Methods 600 cosmetic plastic surgery were collected from cosmetic plastic surgery of Jinan Military General Hospital,then randomly divided into control group(n=300) and study group (n=300) according to odd and even on the first visit.Conventional treatmentand care were applied to control group before,during and after operation.For study group,in addition to giving a general treatment and care,preoperative consultation talks were given to understand the beauty of the psychological characteristics,and motivations and expectations were given to adjust;music and psychological support were presented intraoperative; rehabilitation guidance were given after operation.Symptom checklist 90( SCL-90),general psychological problems of body image self-rating scale and postoperative satisfaction scale were used to assess the the mental state,body image question and satisfaction of plastic surgery.Results Before intervention,the scores of SCL-90 and the general body image self-rating scale were ( 187.5 ±52.61 ),(12.1 ± 2.2) in study group and (179.87 ± 53.33 ),(12.9 ± 2.0) in control group,there was no significant differences(P＞0.05).After intervention,the scores of SCL-90 and the general body image self-rating scale ( 159.6 ± 31.3 ),(5.6 ± 0.5 ) in study group were lower than those in control group ( 167.4 ± 38.2 ),( 6.2 ±1.1 )(P ＜ 0.01 ).Before and after treatment,50％ reduced rate of 26％,25％ reduced rate of 41.6％,body-negative rate of 97.1％,overall satisfaction rate of 89％ of surgery in study group were higher than 14％,27.6％,84.3％ and 53.67％ in the control group,the differences were significant (P＜0.01 ).Conclusion Psychological interventions can improve the psychological state,body image disturbance and operative satisfaction in cosmetic plastic surgery.Psychological interventions should pay more attention to irrmprove the efficacy of cosmetic plastic surgery.

砄bjective: To summarize the clinical characteristics of basal cell nevus syndrome (BCNS) and the treatment experience of cysts in jaws. Methods: 24 patients of BCNS from Mar. 1981 to Sept. 1999 were retrospectively investigated. Results: Of all the cases, the mean age for the first examination was 17 years old. The respective incidence of the main symptoms were multiple nevi in 9 cases (37.5%), palmar and/or plantar pits in 7 (29.2%), spine and/or ribs deformity in 17 (70.8%), intracranial calcification in 19 ( 79.2% ), specific facial profile in 16(66.7%). The cysts of jaws were the main causes for early examination, which were characterized by their multiple and preadolescent occurrences. The cysts were surgically removed and the postoperative recurrence rate of the cysts was 22.0%. Conclusion: Much attention should be paid to the cysts of jaws, the main symptoms, and cause of the physiological and psychological impairment in the patients of BCNS.

BACKGROUND:Studies regarding neural stem cells (NSCs) mainly focus on rodents and human,few of which addressing non-human primate animals.OBJECTIVE:To explore a culture system of cynomolgus monkey NSCs (cmNSCs),additionally,to observe its differential potential.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:An in vitro cytology observation was performed at the Canter for Stem Cell Biology and Tissue Engineering,Sun Yat-sen University between July 2008 and April 2009.MATERIALS:Spontaneously aborted cynomolgus monkey fetus with 3-5 months old (gestational age),was provided by Landao Biotechnology Co.,Ltd.METHODS:The subventricular zone and the hippocampus were dissected aseptically from the brain of spontaneously aborted cynomolgus monkey fetus,then triturated with fire-polished glass Pasteur pipettes to single cells,and cultured in 25 cm~2 culture flask with concentration of (2.0-5.0)×10~5.The neurospheres were transferred into polyornithine and fibronectin precoated cell culture dish after 2 weeks when they formed.Each 20 μg/L of epithelium growth factor (EGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) was daily added.The adhesive cells were passagad when they reached about 90% confluency.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The NSCs and its differential potential were identified by surface marker nestin and immunocytochemistry.RESULTS:The neurospheres formed after 1 week culture,and grew with time prolonged.The culture system was changed into adherent culture at 4th week.At 24 hours after plated on the poly-omithine/fibronectin pre-coated dish,neurospheras adhered to the dish and many cells migrated out of neurnshperes and proliferated as monolayer.The immunocytochemistry showed that NSCs which culture medium contain EGF and bFGF preserve neatin positive,and the cmNSCs that without EGF and bFGF differentiated into astrocytes (GFAP positive),neurons (Tuj-1 positive) and oligodendrocytes (O4 positive).CONCLUSION:The culture system which combines suspension culture and adherent culture is fit for the culture of cmNSCs.The cultured cmNSCs has potential to differentiate into astrocytes,neuronal cells and oligodendrocytes.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of extracts ofLiaoxuan Kaxifu Powders (LE) on proliferation and transcription of IL-8 and ICAM-1 in HaCaT induced by TNF-α; To discuss its mechanism of action.Methods Cultured HaCaT was assigned into normal group, TNF-α group and low-, medium- and high-dose of LE group. Every group was induced by 40 ng/mL TNF-α except for normal group, and then LE groups were treated by different concentrations (8, 40, 200μg/mL) of LE for 48 h. The proliferation of HaCaT was evaluated by MTT and the apoptosis was detected by inverted fluorescence microscope. Levels of IL-8 and ICAM-1 in HaCaT were assessed by ELISA, and their mRNA expressions was detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR.Results Compared with normal group, the absorbency of HaCaT and the contents and mRNA expressions of IL-8 and ICAM-1 increased in TNF-α group (P<0.05,P<0.01); compared with TNF-α group, LE of all dose groups could significantly inhibit the absorbency, decrease the contents and mRNA expressions of IL-8 and ICAM-1 (P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion LE is able to inhibit the proliferation of HaCaT induced by TNF-α, and the mechanism is probably related to promoting apoptosis and down-regulating the gene expressions of IL-8 and ICAM-1, and then maintaining the normal level of HaCaT.

Objective To discuss the clinical application of laparoscopic ultrasound (LUS) in laparoscopic nephron sparing surgery(NSS) for central renal tumors.Methods Eighteen patients underwent laparoscopic NSS for central renal tumors.The use of LUS was mainly lay in observing the nature and size of the tumor, the minimum distance from the tumor to capsule, collective system and renal artery, tumor's vasa vasorum,tumor localization and determination of margins.Results Of the 18 central renal tumors,the size was 11 - 29 mm,23.3 mm in average.The minimum distance from the tumor to capsule was 2 - 11mm,4.7 mm in average.The minimum distance within 5 mm to collective system and to capsule was 12 and 10 cases respectively.The tumor was surrounded by nephridial tissue completely on LUS, without protruding capsule.LUS diagnosis of 18 central renal tumors: 10 cases of renal angiomyolipoma,7 cases of renal cell carcinoma, 1 case of renal cyst with capsule wall calcification (at first diagnosed as renal carcinoma by CT).The findings of LUS were same to pathologic and(or) postoperative diagnoses.The accuracy of ultrasound localization was 100％.The surgical margins of 7 cases of renal cell carcinoma were all negative.Conclusions It is of high clinical value of LUS on locating the tumor and defining tumor margins in laparoscopic resection of central renal tumors.Besides, more information on tumor and vessel supply will be achieved.

Objective To investigate the presence of type 2 diabetes dyslipidemia,and the association with HDL levels and vascular complications in diabetes.Methods Of 524 cases of type 2 diabetes,fasting blood lipids,blood glucose,glycated hemoglobin results,blood basic data,the level of lipid controlling and based data of the patients were observed.The relevance between abnormal blood lipids and vascular atherosclerosis was analyzed.Results Type 2 diabetic patients have lipid metabolism,in 524 type 2 diabetes patients,58.4％ had lipid disorder;The serum level of HDL in atherosclerosis group[(0.8 ±0.26)mmol/L]was significantly lower than that in non-atherosclerotic group[(0.95 ± 0.43)mmol/L](t =1.648,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The decreasing of HDL had relationship to vascular atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Objectives To investigate serum levels of B cell activating factor(BAFF)in Chinese patients with polymyositis(PM)or dermatomyositis(DM),and analyze the correlation of BAFF with autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes.Methods Serum BAFF levels of 28 PM patients and 30 DM patients(study group),and 25 matched healthy controls(control group)were measured by ELISA.Serum anti-Jo-1 antibody levels were also measured by ELISA in all the subjects.The results of the two groups were compared by unpaired t test and the relevance was analyzed by Pearson's correlation analysis.Results Serum levels of BAFF in PM/DM patients were significantly higher compared to healthy controls(P =0.000),but there was no statistically significant difference between the PM and DM patients(P ＞ 0.05).Patients with interstitial lung disease(ILD)had significantly higher serum BAFF level than the patients without ILD(P =0.000)or the controls(P =0.000).Serum BAFF levels of patients with positive antinuclear antibody(ANA)were significantly higher than those with negative ANA(P =0.003).For patients with anti-Jo-1 antibodies,the serum BAFF levels were correlated with the serum concentration of anti-Jo-1 antibodies(r =0.799,P =0.006).Conclusions Serum levels of BAFF are increased in Chinese PM/DM patients.These findings indicate that BAFF may be possibly enrolled in the pathogenesis of PM/DM.Detecting serum BAFF levels could have some implication for the diagnosis and treatment of PM/DM.

Objective To investigate the utility of serum prostate specific antigen(PSA) density (PSAD),prostate antigen transition zone density(PSAT) and the ratio of free/total PSA with PSAD [(F/T)/PSAD] in the diagnosis of prostatic carcinoma (PCa) by three-dimensional ultrasonography.Methods Seventy-eight patients (serum prostate-specific antigen between 4-20 μg/L ) were involved.The prostatic volume and its transition zone volume were measured by three-dimensional ultrasonography.Then the relative parameters of PSA [PSAD,PSAT and (F/T)/PSAD] were calculated.Pathologic types were determined by using needle biopsy of prostate.Results Among them,27 patients were suffering from PCa,while the other 51 benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH).The difference of PSAD,PSAT and (F/T)/PSAD between PCa and BPH had arrived statistical significance (P<0.05).Proportions under the PCa curves were 0.736,0.760,0.800 respectively.Considering both sensitivity and specificity,a cutoff was recommanded:PSAD>0.20,PSAT>0.33,(F/T)/PSAD<0.8.Conclusions When the serum PSA level is between 4 μg/L and 20 μg/L,PSAD,PSAT and (F/T)/PSAD are of significant value to differentiate PCa from benign prostatic hyperplasia patients.The data are more reliable if prostatic volume are calculated by three-dimensional transrectal ultrasonography.

Objective To investigate the roles of hemopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Methods HSCs were isolated from the bone marrow of a patient with psoriasis vulgaris and a normal human control. Forward- and reverse-subtracted cDNA libraries were constructed by using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) technique between HSCs from the patient and control. Bacterial PCR and dot hybridization were performed to screen for positive clones followed by gene sequencing, identification and functional analysis. Real time quantitative PCR was carried out to measure the mRNA expression of interferon-γ and thymosin 10 (TMSB10). Results Nine genes were screened from the forward-subtracted cDNA library which encoded interferon-γ, tyrosine phosphatase, SUMO1 activase, etc, and 8 genes including the TMSB10-encoding gene were screened from the reverse-subtracted cDNA library. The relative expression level of interferon-γ in HSCs from the patient was 47.5 times that in HSCs from the control, while the level of TMSB10 from the control was 22.6 times that from the patient. Conclusion The abnormal expression of 17 genes which encode interferon-γ, thyrosin, and so on, may be involved in the development of psoriasis.
