Objective: To establish a fast quantitative detection method for tartrazine, sunset yellow, orange Ⅱ sodium salt and allura red in safflower by solid phase extraction-electrospray ionization-high performance ion mobility spectrometry (SPE-ESI-HPIMS).Methods: The pigments were extracted by 70% ethanol with ultrasonic treatment, and then a polyamide SPE column was used to remove the complex matrix interference in safflower.The purified sample was then dissolved in 90% methanol and analyzed under the optimized IMS parameters.Results: The detection time of all the pigments was less than 20 ms.The limit of detection of tartrazine, sunset yellow, orange Ⅱ sodium salt and allura red was 0.17 , 0.15 , 0.30 and 0.25 μg·ml-1 , respectively.All the pigments showed excellent linearity within the range of 0.5-20 μg·ml-1 (r＞0.990 0), the method recovery was 88.0%-98.9% , and the RSD was 1.5%-5.2% (n =6).Conclusion: The method is rapid, simple, highly sensitive and reproducible, and suitable for the rapid quantitative detection of illegal added staining substances in safflower.

Objective We sought to determine the incidence,clinical features,and risk factors for retroperitoneal hematoma(RPH)after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A retrospective analysis yielded 21 cases of RPH out of 3,729 consecutive patients undergoing PCI between January 2000 and September 2005 in Anzhen hospital.Cases were compared with a randomly selected sample of 30 control subjects without RPH.Predictors were studied using univariate and multivariate analysis.Results The incidence of RPH was 0.6%.Anemia(100%)was a most universal feature.Features of RPH included hypotension(95%),diaphoresis(57%),groin pain(48%),abdominal pain(38%)and back pain(38%).The following variables were found to be independent predictors of RPH:female gender(odds ratio OR=5.23,P

BACKGROUND:Semi-shoulder or total shoulder arthroplasty for complicated proximal humerus fractures is better in the rapid elimination of pain and restoration of joint function.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the surgical techniques and clinical effects of semi-shoulder arthroplasty on the treatment of complicated proximal humerus fractures.
METHODS:The surgical efficacy of 12 cases of complicated proximal humerus fractures who had al received semi-shoulder arthroplasty was analyzed. According to Neer classification, there were two cases of three-part fractures and 10 cases of four-part fractures. X-ray observation and Neer scoring criteria were also used to conduct a clinical evaluation of shoulder joint function after operation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al the patients were fol owed up for 18 months in average (6 to 48 months). Based on Neer scoring, excellent was in 10 cases, good in one case, fair in one case. The excellent rate was 92%. During the fol ow-up period, prosthesis location was good and there were no complications, such as periarticular fractures, nerve injury, infection, dislocation or looseness. Attention should be paid for the effective restoration of shoulder cuff and the correct reconstruction of the large and smal nodules in semi-shoulder arthroplasty. Besides, it also should be combined with the early and standard functional exercises. The clinical effect of semi-shoulder arthroplasty is satisfactory and it is an effective way to treat complicated proximal humerus fractures.

Objective To observe the changes of serum levels of inflammatory cytokines in the elder patients with clopidogrel resistance (CLR) after coronary stenting. Methods A total of 93 patients with unstable angina pectoris received coronary stenting were enrolled, and peripheral blood samples were taken before and 24 hours, 1 week and 1 month after surgery. The platelet aggregation (PAG) induced by adenosine diphosphate (ADP) were detected, and all patients were divided into CLR group (n=33) and normal response group (n=60) according to PAG response. At the same time, the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), soluble fragment of CD40 ligand (sCD40L) and P-selectin were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The incidences of CLR were 35. 5% (33/93), 26. 9%(25/93) and 20. 4%(19/93) respectively 24 hours, 1 week and 1 month after surgery. The levels of CRP C(8. 8 ± 2. 5) mg/L at 24 hours, (5. 3 ± 2. 5) mg/L at 1 week], P-selectin [(73. 8±34)×10~(-3) ng/L at 24 hours, (70. 5±31. 6)×10~(-3) ng/L at 1 week, (66. 4±22. 3) ×10~(-3) ng/L at 1 month] and sCD40L C(7. 7 ±2. 3)×10~(-3) ng/L at 24 hours] after surgery in CLR group showed significant differences comparing with pre-surgery and normal response group (all P< 0.05). The CLR at 30 days after coronary stenting was significantly correlated with the level of P-selectin (r=1.334) and smoking (r= 1.053). Conclusions The levels of CRP, P-selectin and sCD40L in some elder patients after coronary stenting are increased and may be correlated with CLR. The levels of P-selectin and smoking are the predictors for CLR.

AIM: To investigate the effect of L-arginine (L-Arg) on intimal proliferation and expression of related cell cycle regulatory factors after vascular injury in rats. METHODS: Rats were divided into three groups :sham operation group, balloon injury group(this group included balloon 48 h,7 d and 14 d subgroup) and balloon+L-Arg group. Neointima area were calculated morphologiocally. The expression of cyclin dependent kinase-2(CDK2),cyclin E and proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) were measured by means of immunohistochemical technique and computer image analyzer. RESULTS: After vascular balloon injury, the level of plasma NO decreased, CDK2、cyclin E and PCNA expressed in the media at 48 h and in the neointima at 7 d and 14 d but with low and undetected expression in the media, the expression of CDK2, cyclin E and PCNA increased with the intima thickening. Compared with balloon 14 d group, the plasma NO level increased (P＜0.01）, the neointima area reduced by 59.1%(P＜0.01) and the positive expression indexes of CDK2, cyclin E and PCNA decreased by 36.1%, 46.3% and 76.2% respectively in balloon+L-Arg group (P all＜0.01）. CONCLUSION: L-Arg can effectively repress intima proliferation after vascular injury, which may be associated with its inhibiting the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cell through downregulating the excessive expression of CDK2, cyclin E and PCNA.

Objective To seek for the differentially-expressed proteins in patients with kidney-yin deficiency syndrome and to screen out the specific proteins,so as to provide evidence for the establishment of objective standard of kidney deficiency syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Methods Five patients with typical kidney-yin deficiency syndrome and 6 normal healthy volunteers were enrolled into the study.Plasma proteins in both groups were detected by antibody chip,and then the plasma proteins profile was compared and analyzed.Results A total of 25 differentially-expressed proteins between kidney-yin deficiency group and normal control group were found,of which 2 were up-regulated and 23 were down-regulated.Conclusion The differentially-expressed proteins in patients with kidney-yin deficiency syndrome are mainly related to immune disorder,protein biosynthesis,metabolism,oxidative stress,cell apoptosis,signal transduction,and so on.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of yang-supplementing fire moxibustion in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in stable stage. Method Totally 120 COPD patients of yang deficiency type in stable stage were divided into 3 groups by the random number table, a yang-supplementing fire moxibustion group (yang-supplementing group), a dry mild moxibustion group (mild moxibustion group), and a regular Western medication group (regular group), 40 cases in each group, and 30-day treatment was taken as a course. They were treated and observed for a course, followed by a 3-month follow-up study. The pulmonary function indexes, yang-deficiency signs, quality of life, and comprehensive therapeutic efficacy were observed in the three groups. Result After treatment, the pulmonary function indexes, yang deficiency signs, quality of life, and comprehensive therapeutic efficacy were significantly improved in the three groups (P<0.01); the percent of predicted forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1%) and yang deficiency signs were significantly improved after intervention in the mild moxibustion group (P<0.05); meanwhile, the quality of life was also significantly improved after intervention in the mild moxibustion group and regular group (P<0.01); the therapeutic efficacy of the yang-supplementing group was better than that of the mild moxibustion group and regular group, and the efficacy of the mild moxibustion group was better than that of the regular group. Conclusion Yang-supplementing fire moxibustion can improve the pulmonary function, postpone the progressive decrease of pulmonary function, significantly improve the yang deficiency constitution, enhance the quality of life and comprehensive therapeutic efficacy in treating yang-deficient COPD patients in stable stage.
