Objective To investigate the clinical effect and safety of laparoscopic-assisted vaginal radical hysterectomy (LAVRH) and pelvic lymphadenectomy in early-stage cervical cancer.Methods The clinical data of 126 patients with cervical cancer were retrospectively analyzed.63 cases received LAVRH surgery were considered as study group,and 63 cases received laparotomy were selected as control group.The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,intestinal function recovery time,the average hospitalization days,surgical complications,recurrence incidence,etc were compared between the two groups.Results The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,intestinal function recovery time,the average hospitalization days had significantly statistical differences between two groups(P ＜0.05).The surgical complications and recurrence rate had no significantly statistical differences between two groups (P ＞0.05).Conclusion LAVRH and pelvic lymphadenectomy has the advantages of minimally invasive,less blood loss,faster recovery,etc.It is an effective method for the treatment of early-stage cervical cancer.

Objective To get a general idea of the knowing level of knowledge and policies related to voluntary blood donation among rural residents,and to explore factors influencing their willingness of voluntary blood donation.Methods Three natural villages were randomly chosen in the north,middle and south of Anhui province as the investigation sites in Jan.2008.Data were collected by interviewing the target people,as well as using a self-designed questionnaire.A total of 724 people were interviewed and 620 valid questionnaires were obtained,with an effective retrieval rate of 85.6%.Results The score of voluntary blood donation knowledge among rural residents was 19.26?3.987,and the score of relevant policy knowledge was 5.85?2.154.There were significant differences in knowledge of both voluntary blood donation and relevant policies among different age groups.Residents with different education levels also differed significantly in knowledge of relevant policies.Logistic analysis indicated that age,education and knowing level of relevant policies were the factors that had influence people's willingness of voluntary blood donation.Conclusion Knowing level of voluntary blood donation knowledge is high among rural residents while the policy knowledge level is low.Willingness of blood donation among the group of age 25 to 34 is obviously higher than that of the group of age 18 to 24;willingness of people with middle school education background is lower than illiterate people;the higher the knowledge level,the higher of people's willingness.

Objective To explore the effect of preoperative evaluation checklist in the preoperative preparation of laparoscop‐ic cholecystectomy .Methods Based on whether the preoperative evaluation checklist was used or not ,664 cases of patients were di‐vided into control group (n=350) and experimental group (n=314) .Routine preparation was used in the control group ,while the preoperative evaluation checklist made by department of hepatobiliary surgery in the second affiliated hospital of Chongqing medical university was added to the experimental group .The case histories of patients in both groups were retrospectively reviewed ,so as to make comparisons of the defect of preoperative preparation ,influence to operation (delay or cancel) ,comprehension of preoperative knowledge ,and score of degree of satisfaction .Results The incidence rate of the defect of preoperative preparation in the experi‐mental group (1 .59% ) was lower than that in the control group (6 .86% ) with a statistical difference (P<0 .05) .The influence to operation (delay or cancel) in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group with a statistical difference (P<0 .05) .The comprehension of preoperative knowledge and score of degree of satisfaction in the experimental groups were obviously superior to those in the control groups ,which both had a statistical difference (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The application of preopera‐tive evaluation checklist in laparoscopic cholecystectomy could benefit for sufficient preoperative preparation ,conducting surgery as scheduled ,patients′comprehension of preoperative knowledge and patients′satisfaction of medical treatment ,which deserved widely clinical generalization .

Aim To research the effects of HSP70 in-hibitor ( PFTμ) on the expressions of iNOS induced by IFN-γ in RAW 264. 7 cells. Methods The NO con-centration was measured by Griess Kit. The expression of interest protein was measured by Western blot and iNOS mRNA was measured by RT-PCR. Mouse cardi-ac ischemia-reperfusion ( I/R ) model was established to set up the inflammatory response. These were divid-ed into control and treated groups. The infarct size was monitored on myocardial I/R mice. Results We found that PFTμsignificantly blocked the production of NO and the expression of iNOS protein and mRNA in RAW 264. 7 cells. The mechanism may be part of the inhibition of nuclear IRF-1 protein expression. We also found that PFTμ reduced the infarct size in myocardial I/R mice ( P <0. 05 ) . Conclusion These results suggest that PFTμ down-regulates the IFN-γ-induced iNOS transcription through decreasing translocated IRF-1 protein.

Background:Dysregulation of microRNA expression is involved in the carcinogenesis of many tumors,expression of miR-504 has been observed in many tumors,but its expression in primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has not been reported. Aims:To explore the expression and clinical significance of miR-504 in HCC tissues and cells. Methods:Tumor and para-cancerous tissue in 85 HCC patients were collected. Five liver cancer cell lines and immortalized liver cell line were conventionally cultured. Effect of miR-504 expression on HepG2 cells proliferation was determined by CCK8 assay. The expression of miR-504 was determined by real time fluorescent quantitative PCR. Relationships between expression of miR-504 and clinicopathological features and prognosis of HCC patients were analyzed. Results:Compared with normal liver cells,expression of miR-504 was significantly downregulated in five liver cancer cells(P < 0. 05). Up-regulation of miR-504 inhibited proliferation of HepG2 cells,and down-regulation of miR-504 promoted proliferation of HepG2 cells. miR-504 expression in tumor tissue was significantly decreased than that in corresponding para-cancerous tissue. Expression of miR-504 was correlated with tumor differentiation(P = 0. 002),TNM stage(P = 0. 021),alpha fetoprotein(P = 0. 012)and portal vein tumor thrombus(P = 0. 003),but not with gender,age,tumor size and tumor number. Survival in HCC patients with lower miR-504 expression was significantly shorter than that in patients with high expression(P < 0. 05). Conclusions:Expression of miR-504 is downregulated in HCC,and is correlated with the prognosis of patients,suggesting that miR-504 can be used as an independent predictor for prognosis of HCC patients.

OBJECTIVE:To study the new formula of effective components in TCM for anti-allergic rhinitis (AR),and pro-vide reference for developing TCM preparations for anti-AR. METHODS:Using pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (0-13.5 mg/kg), total alkaloid extracts of Aconitum carmichaelii (0-21.18 mg/kg),volatile oil of asari radix (0-0.0092 mL/kg) in Mahuang Fuzi Xixin decoction as formula objects,uniform design method was used for drug grouping,and multiple regression analysis was con-ducted for the behavioral scores before and after administration,contents of histamine and immunoglobulin E (IgE) in serum of AR guinea pigs to obtain the best formula. Using Xinqin granule,Loratadine tablet,Mahuang Fuzi Xixin decoction respectively as positive control,efficacy of the best formula was verified from aspects of behavioral scores before and after administration,con-tents of histamine and IgE of AR guinea pigs. And the safety of the best formula was preliminarily observed through acute toxicity test in mice. RESULTS:The best formula was as follow as pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 11.25 mg/kg,total alkaloid extracts of A. carmichaelii 21.18 mg/kg,volatile oil of asari radix 0.0045 mL/kg. Compared with each positive drug group,there were no sig-nificant differences in behavioral scores before and after administration in the best formula group(P>0.05). While compared with Xinqin granule group and Mahuang Fuzi Xixin decoction group,histamine content in serum in the best formula group was signifi-cantly reduced (P<0.05);compared with Xinqin granule and Loratadine tablet group,IgE content in serum in the best formula group was significant decreased (P<0.05). Median lethal dose of the best formula was 1822.04 mg/kg. CONCLUSIONS:The screened best formula shows better effect than Xinqin granule and Mahuang Fuzi Xixin decoction in terms of reducing histamine content in serum,better than Loratadine tablet and Xinqin granule in terms of reducing IgE content in serum,with good safety, which indicates the feasibility of TCM effective component formula to a certain degree.

Tree shrews get more and more concerns due to many of its physiological , biochemical and anatomical characteristics similar to those of human beings .Therefore, tree shrews models of human diseases such as viral diseases , neurological diseases and tumors attract more and more attention of researchers .In this article we will review the recent ad-vances in application of tree shrew models in research on human viral diseases .

Viral hepatitis is a major liver disease caused by virus infection .Viral hepatitis is popular in China , mainly caused by hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses .Experimental animal model is a necessary platform for the research on mechanism of viral infection and pathogenicity , for treatment and vaccine development .Up to date, a great progress in the development of viral hepatitis animal models has been achieved in spite of the most of findings are limited to hepatitis B and C.Here, we summarize the recent findings of viral hepatitis animal models , focusing on the tree shrew animal model and its modeling strategy .

Objective To clone the full-length of human Gill cDNA and construct the recombinant lentiviral expressing vector pLOX-Gfil for eukaryotic expression,providing a basis for further study on the biological functions of Gfil.Methods Total RNA was isolated from K562 cells,and the full-length Gfil cDNA was amplified by RT-PCR and then ligated with pGEM-T vector after retrieve and purification.The ligation product was transformed into competent cells DH5a.The positive recombinant clones were selected and identified by a complementation,restriction endonuclease digestion.The cloning vector and the lentiviral vector pLOX first digested with BarnH I were ligated and transformed.The enzyme and PCR analyses were performed to confirm the recombinant vector,and then DNA sequence analysis.Results A fragment of 1.2 kb was obtained by RT-PCR.The enzyme and PCR analyses revealed that the correct Gfil cDNA was cloned.The sequence of cloned cDNA was identical to the sequence deposited in GenBank (NM005263).Conclusion Gfil was cloned correctly and the recombinant lentiviral vector pLOX-Gfil for eukaryotic expression was constructed successfully.

OBJECTIVETo investigate clinical characteristics and pathological changes of tissue surrounding prosthesis after hip and knee arthroplasty.

METHODSA total of 67 patients receiving hip and knee arthroplasty were included in the study and pathological changes of the revision specimens were evaluated by microscopic examination.

RESULTSOf 67 patients, there were 25 males and 42 females (ratio of 0.6) with a mean age of 64 years. There were 42 cases of revision hip prosthesis and 25 cases of knee prosthesis. The primary causes for the revision varied, including 20 cases of infection (29.9%, within 3 months in 9 cases,3 to 24 months in 3 cases and over 24 months in 8 cases), 14 cases of pain (20.9%), 13 cases of loosening of the prosthesis (19:4%), 9 cases of joint stiffness (13.4%), 8 cases of prosthetic dislocation (11.9%), and 3 cases of prosthesis fracture (4.5%). Pathological findings in the tissue surrounding the prostheses included debris reaction, histiocytes, acute inflammatory, chronic non-specific inflammation, pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS), "pseudomembranous", calcification, necrosis, sequestrum, etc. These histological changes were frequently admixed.

CONCLUSIONSVarious reasons may lead to hip and knee revision arthroplasty. The main pathological findings include infection, debris granulomas, chronic non-specific inflammatory changes, PVNS. The surgical pathology of the prosthesis provids guidances for clinical treatment and basic research.
