1.Application of health education of telephone visit in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2008;24(31):44-45
ObjectiveTo improve the compliance behavior of discharged patients with chronic obsturctive pulmonary disease(COPD)by health education of telephone visit.Methods240 COPD patients were divided randomly into the experimental group and the control group with 120 cases in each group. The experimental group accepted telephone visit regularly for six months after 1 week since discharged from hospital and the control group did not receive any intervention.Six months later, the compliance behavior and the readmission of two groups were compared.ResultsThe results indicated that the compliance behavior of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group (P<0.01).ConclusionsConducting the health education of telephone visit can strengthen the patients' compliance behavior, postpone the process of disease, prevent complications, lighten economic burden and improve their life quality.

Objective To investigate the level of sex hormone in serum and blood clotting parameters in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI).Methods The level of estradiol(E 2),testosterone(Te),E 2/Te,antithrombin Ⅲ(AT Ⅲ) and fibrinogen(FIB) in the serum of 116 old patients with ACI and 78 healthy subjects were measured by ELISA, Enzyme colorimetric method. Results The concentration of E 2? E 2/Te?FIB in the male patients with ACI were higher than that of control group ( P 0.05). The concentration of FBI was higher than that of control group( P

Objective To analyze the causes and explore suitable treatments for the complica-tions induced by polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAHG) injection for augmentation rhinoplasty. Methods The causes of the complications of 52 cases who accepted PAHG injection for augmentation rhinoplas-ty were analyzed and summarized. All the patients were treated by surgical operations to remove the injected PAHG. Results The complications included infection, granuloma, skin ulceration, bad shape, pain and serious psychological stress. Each case had 1 to 4 complications. Satisfactory results were obtained after suitable treatments. Some cases had silicone or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene implant augmentation rhinoplasty at the same time or secondary to the PAHG removal. A few cases had sequelae and long time psychological stress or tend pain of nose. Conclusions The complications induced by PAHG injection for augmentation rhinoplasty are various, and may relate to the inherent character of PAHG and the anatomic features of the nasal soft tissue. Surgery can remove the PAHG as completely as possible, which is a better method to treat the complications of PAHG injection for augmentation rhinoplasty.

Objective To compare the T cell receptor recombination excision cycle (TREC) levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with normal age- and gender- matched controls. To investigate the correlations between TREC levels of SLE patients and their clinical features. Methods We studied TREC levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of 21 SLE patients and 22 normal age- and sex- matched controls. TREC concentration was determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (real-time qPCR) as the number of TREC copies/1000 PBMCs. The clinical features of the SLE patients such as systemic lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI) , ESR, C reaction protein (CRP) , ANA, anti-dsDNA and complement levels and organ involvement were recorded and assessed. Results SLE patients had lower TREC levels [ (9.6 ± 7.5 )copies/1000 PBMC] than controls[ (16.1 ±11.1) copies/1000 PBMC,P = 0.033]. There was an inverse correlation between age and TREC levels in controls (r =- 0. 614, P = 0. 002) but not in SLE patients. There was an inverse correlation between SLEDAI and TREC levels in SLE patients(r =-0. 656, P =0. 001) and TREC levels seemed to have relations to skin lesions ( r = - 0. 620, P = 0. 003 ). No other clinical association was observed between TREC levels and clinical and laboratory SLE manifestations. Conclusion SLE patients had lower TREC levels than normal controls and there is a tendency that TREC level is reversely correlated with disease activity. The decrease PBMC TREC level is indicative of a low proportion of recent thymic emigrant (RTE) in SLE and could be caused by decreased RTE output and/or by increased peripheral T cell proliferation in this disease. The under-representation of RTE in the peripheral T cell pool may play a role in the immune tolerance abnormalities observed in SLE.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of HR -HPV combined with TCT in the diagnosis of cervical cancer and precancerous lesion. Methods 1 198 cervical specimens were selected for the study. The results of HR -HPV detection and TCT detection were analyzed, with the pathological results as the gold standard, the diag-nostic value of HR -HPV and TCT in the diagnosis of cervical cancer and precancerous lesion were discussed. Results With increasing pathological grade,TCT positive rate increased gradually, there was a correlation between them(r =0.629,P <0.05).With increasing pathological grade,HR -HPV positive rate increased gradually, there was a correlation between them(r =0.684,P <0.05).The sensitivity of HR -HPV combined with TCT in the differ-ential diagnosis of cervical cancer, precancerous lesions was 100.00%,specificity was 79.64%,missed diagnosis rate was 0.00%,the misdiagnosis rate was 20.36%.Conclusion HR -HPV combined with TCT examination has high clinical value in the diagnosis of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.

Objective To detect the hypermethylation of HOXB6 gene in gastric cancer tissue and investigate the relationship between the gene expression and the clinics. Methods seven types of gastric cancer cell line and 73 cases of gastric cancer biopsy tissues were measured by combined bisulfite restriction analysis method. The gene expression and the re-expression after demethylation were detected by RT-PCR.Results Of 7 cell lines examined, 4 showed hypermethylation. The methylating status of HOXB6 was found to be correlated with loss of expression, which was restored by 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine treatment. We also find hypermethylation in 20/73(27.40%)case of cancer tissues but no one in non cancer tissue. Conclusion There are close relationship between hypermethylation and gene silencing in the HOXB6 gene of gastric cancer,There are also a gene re-expression after its demethylation.Hypermethylation of HOXB6 gene can be a tumor marker for gastric cancer diagnosis, and the agent of demethylation maybe a new antineoplastic drug.

Objective To investigate the possibility of interventional treatment of placenta accreta. Methods One patient with placenta accreta was treated with uterine arterial infusion of cef and MTX followed by embolization. Results Her placenta discharged through vagina at the 27th day after uterine aterial embolizayiea. No remnant was found in the uterine by Doppler imaging. The patient uneventfully recovered. Conclusions Intervetional therapy with uterine arterial embolization is a new and reliable method for treatment of placenta accheta.
