[Summary] Radical prostatectomy, external beam radiation and active surveillance are the main treatments for localized prostate cancer. However, many patients are difficult to accept the psychological burden of active surveillance and the distress caused by potential side effects of radical therapy, including incontinence and erectile dysfunction, which make them limited. With the development of minimally invasive techniques, such as brachytherapy, cryoablation, high-intensity focused ultrasound, photodynamic therapy, and irreversible electroporation, novel procedures are playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of localized prostate cancer with their effective, minimally invasive, and safe advantages. This article mainly reviewed the above several minimally invasive treatment methods.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;46(4):255-258
Melanoma is the most aggressive and lethal malignant tumor in skin cancers. Operation resection is used to treat stageⅠ/Ⅱmelanomas, but traditional operation, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy inflicts adverse effects on late-stage melanomas. StageⅢ/Ⅳmelanomas are some of the most ineffectively treated tumors with poor prognosis. As a cancer treatment, targeted immunotherapy in-hibits negative regulatory factors and enhances systemic anti-tumor immune effects. Radiotherapy not only kills tumor cells, but also en-hances systemic immune responses. Recent studies showed that targeted immunotherapy combined with radiotherapy can promote con-trol on local and distant tumors and prolong overall survival. The synergistic effects of these two therapies are superior to a single thera-py. This review summarized the progress on these research fields.

Objective To explore the effects of quercetin and quercetin in combination with cisplatin on adhesion, migration and invasion of HeLa cells. Methods Adhesion, migration and invasion of HeLa cells treated with quercetin and quercetin in combination with cisplatin were measured by adhesion assay, wound healing assay, and transwell chamber method respectively. Results The results showed that quercetin and quercetin in combination with cisplatin could inhibit adhesion, migration and invasion of HeLa cells. The adhesive ratio, migration rate and the invasiveness were negatively proportional to concentration of quercetin and quercetin in combination with cisplatin. With increasing concentration of quercetin from 20 to 80 μmol/L, the adhesive ratio decreased from ( 82. 2±1. 5 ) % to ( 48. 4±1. 1 ) % ; the migration rote decreased from (7.26±0. 20) μm/h to (3.78±0. 64) μm/h; the invasiveness decreased from ( 124. 3± 1. 5) piece to (90. 7±2. 1 ) piece(P <0. 05). In quercetin and quereetin in combination with 10 μmol/L cisplatin treatment group, with quercetin concentration increasing from 20 to 80 μmol/L, the adhesive ratio decreased from (42. 6±1. 2) % to ( 27. 5±1. 7 ) %, the migration rate decreased from ( 2. 20±0. 33) μm/h to (0.72±0. 19) μm/h and the invasiveness decreased from (78.7±2.5) piece to (44.0±4.0) piece (P < 0. 05 ). Compared with the quercetin groups, querectin in combination with cisplatin groups had significantly higher inhibitory effects ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusions Quercetin and quercetin in combination with cisplatin can inhibit adhesion and migration and invasion of HeLa cells. Quercetin can enhance the inhibitory effect of cisplatin on HeLa cell adhesion, migration and invasion.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2013;(11):818-820
Purpose To explore the clinical value of color Doppler ultrasound in monitoring hemodynamic changes in main renal artery of neonatal asphyxia. Materials and Methods A total of 60 cases of neonatal asphyxia were divided into mild asphyxia (38 cases) and severe asphyxia (22 cases) according to Apgar score 1 min after born. Then the peak systolic velocity (Vs), the end diastolic velocity (Vd) and the resistance index (RI) of the main renal artery were obtained by color Doppler ultrasound on day 1 and day 3;the level of endothelin-1 (ET-1) was also recorded accordingly. The above results were compared with those of 20 cases of healthy full-term new born infants. Results On day 1, Vs and Vd of the main renal artery in the groups with mild asphyxia and severe asphyxia were both lower than those in healthy group (P<0.05), but RI was higher (P<0.05), with more dramatic changes in the group with severe asphyxia (P<0.05). On day 3, Vs and Vd in the groups with mild asphyxia and severe asphyxia reduced compared with those on day 1, whilst RI was higher than that on day 1. Vd and RI in the group with severe asphyxia changed more significantly (P<0.01). As to the value of ET-1, both groups with mild asphyxia and severe asphyxia showed higher level than healthy group (P<0.01). More dramatic increase appeared in the group with severe asphyxia (P<0.05). In the groups with mild asphyxia and severe asphyxia, the Vs and Vd of the main renal artery were negatively correlated with ET-1 on day 1 and day 3 (r=-0.823,-0.845;P<0.01), while the RI was positively correlated with ET-1 (r=0.785, P<0.01). Conclusion Both color Doppler ultrasound imaging and neonatal urine ET-1 test can reflect degree of renal injury after neonatal asphyxia dynamically and noninvasively, which can be used to evaluate the injury severity.
