Rheumatoid arthritis ( RA) was a common autoimmune disease characterized with main clinical manifestations of chronic inflammation in joints.Anti-carbamylated proteins(anti-CarP)antibody, as a promising bio-marker, played a crucial role in the diagnosis of RA patients and the screening of pre-RA patients .In this article , recent progress on the study of anti-CarP antibody and RA related diseases has been reviewed , which was expected to provide new references for the diagnosis and treatment of related clinical diseases .
2.Preoperative embolization of hemangioblastoma of central nervous system

Objective To determine whether preoperative embolization is a valuable adjunct to surgical excision of hemangioblastoma. Methods Eleven cases of hemangioblastoma, involving 8 of cerebellum , 1 of medulla oblongata and 2 of spinal cord shown by CT, MR and DSA were embolized preoperatively. The feeding arteries were catheterized with microcatheter and devascularized with polyvinyl alchol particles. Results The blood supplies of the tumor in 6 cases were completely eliminated, and partial occlusion through embolization were undergone for the other 5 cases. Surgical operation was undergone 1-7 days later with all, the 11 tumors totally resected acompanied by minimal blood loss and shortening of the operation time. In addition, manipulation and removal of these embolized tumors were actually easier than expected. No complications occurred during the procedures of embolization and operation. Conclusions Preoperative embolization of hemangioblastoma is a useful and relatively safe to surgical complete resection of this hypervascular tumor with significant reduction of blood loss and operation time.
3.Expression of c-erbB-2in breast cancer

Objective To investigate the expression of c-erbB-2 in breast cancer and its relationship with prognosis.Methods The expression of c-erbB-2 in breast cancer was detected by immunohistochemistry assays in 60 cases of breast cancer.Results The positive expression level of c-erbB-2 in invasive breast cancer was signifi-cantly higher than that in other kinds of breast cancer(P<0.01).The positive expression level of c-erbB-2 in the metastatic breast cancer with four lymph nodes was higher than in the early cancer with no lymph node involvement (P<0.01).The 10 years survival rate in negative expression of c-erbB-2 was higher than in positive expression(P<0.05).Conclusion c-erbB-2 is important for physicians to instruct the treatment of the breast cancer and judge the prognosis.

5.The apoptosis of HUVCE cell line induced by L-amino acid oxidase from snake of bungarus fasciatus

AIM: To investigate the effect of purifried L-amino acid oxidase (LAO) from bungarus fasciatus snake venom on apoptosis and growth of HUVCE cell line. METHODS: The L-amino acid oxidase was purified by SP-sepharose HP column followed by Heperin-Sepharose (FF) column. The homogeneity of the preparation was examined by SDS-PAGE and the molecular weight of LAO was determined by SDS-PAGE and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) gel-filtration. The MTT assay was used to detect the viability of cells. Flow cytometry and laser confocal microscopy were used to identiyfy the cell cycle and apoptotic morphology after cells treated with LAO. RESULTS: An L-amino acid oxidase (BF-LAO) was successfully purified from the venom of bungarus fasciatus. It showed a single band in SDS-PAGE under both reduced and non-reduced conditions. The apparent molecular weight was determined to be 60 kD by SDS-PAGE and 70 kD by HPLC gel filtration. LAO inhibited growth and induced apoptosis of HUVCE cell line in a dose-dependent manner after 12 h incubation, with the 50% inhibitory concentration (IC_ 50 ) being of 2.8 mg/L. Flow cytometry and laser confocal microscope showed a typical apoptotic peak and morphological changes of these cells. CONCLUSION: The L-amino acid oxidase from bungarus fasciatus snake venom could inhibit the HUEVC cell growth and induce the cell apoptosis.
6.Research advances on the significance of FOXA1 in breast cancer

Forkhead box A1 (FOXA1) is expressed in various organs,including breast,liver,pancreas,bladder,prostate,colon,ovary,lung and esophagus.The FOXA1 expression is associated with the growth and carcinogenesis of these organs.It is recently demonstrated FOXA1 plays a significant role in different biological processes including cell proliferation,differentiation,devolopment,carcinogenesis and the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) etc.Its expression is positively correlated with ER and PR expression,and it is demonstrate to be one of the most important favorate prognostic factors of breast cancer.
7.Validity of panoramic radiographs for measurements of mandibular asymmetry

Objective To evaluate the reliability of the panoramic radiographs for diagnosing mandibular asymmetry.Methods A total of 25 cases with no asymmetry in chief complaint or in appearance were selected for symmetry group.Pa and PAC from 16 cases of facial asymmetry were selected for asymmetric group.Marker points were fixed,a reference line and the reference plane drawn,and then relevant measurement items determined.The repeatability of the fixed position was observed.The difference of all measurement items between the left and right on Pa in symmetry group and asymmetric group were compared respectively and the asymmetric rate of corresponding measuredvalues on two sides between two groups were observed too.Correlation test was used to evaluate the measured-values on Pa and PAC in asymmetric group.Results Dispersion became smaller with the help of reference line and reference plane.And the dispersion was larger when Me was used as a marker other than MF.Most measured-values in symmetry group on Pa and all measured-values in asymmetric group on Pa showed statistically significant difference (P< 0.05).The mean difference of CP-GoP distance representing the vertical measured-value was 4.73 mm (P<0.01); and the mean difference of GoP-MF distance representing the horizontal measured-value was 5.77 mm (P<0.01).The horizontal measurements on PA and PAC showed closer correlation (r=0.78~0.85,P<0.01) while the vertical was poorer (r=0.64,P<0.01).Conclusions This study suggests that marking assisted with reference line and reference plane could get a more repeatable fixed-point on Pa.MF point could be used as a fixed-point for measuring mandibular asymmetry on Pa and the Pa measurement can be used to evaluate mandibular asymmetry.
8.Comparative study of hand-assisted laparoscopy and laparoscopy-assisted radical operation for colorectal cancer

ABSTRACT:Objective To compare the short-term efficacy of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopy-assisted radical operation,and evaluate the safety of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery and its effect on systemic stress inflammation in colorectal cancer.Methods Totally 100 patients who had colorectal cancer and underwent radical operation from September 2012 to March 2016 were selected and divided into hand-assisted laparoscopy group (Group A,n=6 3 )and laparoscopy-assisted group (Group B,n=3 7 )according to the random number table.We compared operation index,postoperative complications and systemic inflammatory response levels in the two groups.Results Group B outperformed Group A in operation time,bleeding volume and drainage volume (P<0 .0 5 ),but with longer flatus time after operation than that in Group A (P<0 .0 5 ).There was no significant difference in hospitalization length and the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (P>0 .0 5 ).Systemic inflammatory reaction index of neutral granulocyte number and C reactive protein (CRP)showed no significant differences between the two groups (P>0 .0 5 ),but inflammatory cytokine IL-6 level in Group B was significantly higher than the that in Group A (P<0.05).Conclusion Hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery has shorter operation time,lower bleeding volume than laparoscopy-assisted operation in the treatment of colorectal cancer,but the latter one has more advantages in postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery.The inflammatory cytokine IL-6 level in hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery is higher than that in laparoscopy,suggesting that the choice of operation methods should be based on the actual situation in clinical application.
9.Process of Purification of Dihydromyricetin by Cooling Crystallization

Objective To development a cooling crystallization process that is suitable for industrial preparation of purified dihydromyricetin.Methods Screen design was used to investigate effects of process parameters such as,temperature,concentration ethanol aqueous,quantity of activated charcoal and adsorption time on yield and purity of dihydromyricetin.Purity was verified by high performance liquid chromatography and thin layer chromatography.The solubility of dihydromyricetin in water at viable temperature and ethanol proportion was also determined by UV spectrophotometry.The solid form was characterized by thermal analysis and powder X-ray diffractometry.Results When temperature was > 85 ℃,ethanol concentration < 10%,dosage of activated charcoal 0.1%-0.3%,and adsorption time 1-3 min,yield of dihydromyricetin was more than 70%,and the purity greater than 98%.The crystals,prepared by cooling crystallization from water and ethanol aqueous,had the same physical form and crystal habit.Conclusion Cooling crystallization from low concentration of ethanol aqueous gets higher yield and the process is more robust than crystallization from water.
10.Predictive and prognostic evaluation of surfactant protein D, von Willebrand factor and interleukin-8 for sepsis-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome

Objective To select valuable biomarkers for diagnosis and predicting outcome of sepsis-related acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) from D-dimmer (DD),yon Willebrand factor (vWF),platelet (PLT),N terminal-pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-ProBNP),interleukin-6 (IL-6),interleukin-8 (IL-8) and surfactant protein D (SP-D).Methods A total of 48 sepsis accompanied with ARDS patients and 40 sepsis patients were prospectively studied with comparison.The clinical characteristics of all the patients were recorded in detail.The blood samples were obtained within 24 hours of ICU admission.The concentration or activity of the seven biomarkers was quantitatively assayed and the results were recorded.To select the most valuable biomarkers as clinical indices,diagnosis model and death predictive model were constructed by Logistic regression.Results Among the seven candidate biomarkers,SP-D,vWF and IL-8 showed the most value.Their area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC) were 0.758 (P < 0.01),0.783 (P < 0.01) and 0.747 (P < 0.01) respectively,and raised to 0.847 (P < 0.001) when the three biomarkers were combined.IL-8,age greater than or equal to 60 years and APACHE Ⅱ score greater than or equal to 20 were related to ARDS death with 12.138(lnIL-8)(P=0.022),6.157(P=0.040) and7.415(P=0.014) of OR values respectively.Conclusion SP-D,vWF,IL-8 should be valuable for early prediction of sepsis-induced ARDS and the diagnostic accuracy raised through combined utilization.IL-8 may be predictable for prognosis of sepsis related ARDS and the comprehensive evaluation combining clinical indices with IL-8 should be suggested in clinical practice.
