The aperture and its distribution have remarkable influence on permeation behavior, infiltration rate and filtration character of porous bodies. In this paper, the methods in common use for determining the aperture and its distribution of porous materials are introduced, including the direct observation from cross-section,the gas-bubble method, the permeation method, the mercury method, the gas-adsorption method, the liquid-liquid method, the suspension-filtration method, the X-ray small-angle scattering method, etc. And several measuring methods are compared with one another.Considering the complexity of apertures and various influence factors in the determining of aperture,it is important to determine the proper method according to the structure characteristic of the material, moreover, the test error must be considered.

Objective To explore the smoking cessation intervention impact on lung with genetic polymorphism of SOD3. The aim is to further reveal the importance of smoking cessation intervention on early COPD patients. Meth-ods 60 COPD patients with smoking cessation intervention and 40 COPD patients without intervention ( the control group) were enrolled in this study. Limosis peripheral blood was taken and whole blood corpuscle genomic DNA was extracted. The genetic polymorphism of SOD3 genes was determined by ligase detection reaction and polymerase chain reaction ( LDR-PCR) and serum SOD3 concentration was measured using ELISA. Lung function between the two groups before and after intervention were detected by microspirometry. Results ①The FEV1% and the FEV1/FVC% were increased after 3 and 6 months intervention in smoking cessation group(P<0.05). But there was no significant difference ( P <0.05 ) between 3 and 6 months. ② Different SOD3 genotypes have no significant on COPD pulmonary function after intervention(P>0.05). ③The serum of SOD3 concentration of COPD intervention group and the control have no significance after intervention ( P>0.05 ) . ④ The serum of SOD3 concentration a-bout CC and CG/GG genotype in COPD intervention group have no significance after 3 and 6 months intervention ( P>0.05 ) . Conclusion Smoking cessation interventions for patients with COPD pulmonary function improves significance in short-term. But different SOD3 genotypes have no effect on lung function after intervention. Smoking cessation intervention has no effect on in serum SOD3 concentration of COPD patients, and has no relationship be-tween the expression of SOD3 genetype.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2012;11(3):226-228
Sixty two patients with small bowel bleeding underwent double balloon endoscopy (DBE).Clinical features were compared between patients with positive DBE findings (50 cases) and those with negative findings (12 cases). Results revealed that the causes of melena were discovered in 75.0%(21/28) patients via oral approach, while the lesions were found in 81.8% (18/22) patients with hematochezia via anal approach ( P < 0.01 ). Duration of bleeding was longer and number of bleeding episodes was higher in patients with positive DBE findings than those with negative findings (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ).The time interval between the latest bleeding and DBE was significantly shorter in patients with positive DBE findings (P < 0.05).Positive diagnostic rate was significantly higher in patients with three or more bleeding episodes than those less than three times (92.5% vs.11.1%,P < 0.01 ).DBE performed within seven days or less increased the positive diagnostic rate significantly than that after seven days (97.1% vs.59.3%,P<0.01).

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2010;9(2):100-103
Objective To explore clinical and pathological characteristics of neurological lesions in primary Sj(o)gren's syndrome (pSS).Methods Ten patients diagnosed as pSS with nervous system involvement were analyzed retrospectively with autoimmune antibody test, cerebrespinal fluid examination and Schivmer's test, six pSS patients with peripheral nervous system lesions (PNS-pSS) were examined with electromyography and nerve conduction velocity and four pSS patients with central nervous system lesions (CNS-pSS) were examined with cranial MRI to analyze their clinical and pathological characteristics.Salivary gland biopsy was performed for all the ten patients, sural nerve biopsy for those with PNS-pSS and brain biopsy or spinal autopsy for those with CNS-pSS.Results Clinically, six patients with PNS-pSS presented symmetrical sensory-motor peripheral neuropathy or pure sensory peripheral neuropathy and four patients with CNS-pSS presented multiple sclerosis, subacute transverse myelitis, encephalitis, pituitary stroke and acute meningitis with varied lesions in the myelin sheath and axon by electromyography and motor nerve conduction velocity.Cranial MRI showed lesions in the white matter of the brain, spinal cord and abnormal signals in the pituitary.Pathologically, sural nerve biopsy showed typical vasculitis and nonvasculitis characterized as degeneration of the axon and myelin sheath, salivary acinar gland biopsy showed its atrophy and infiltration with lymphocytes, and brain biopsy showed demyelination of the brain and spinal white matter,as well as infiltration of lymphocytes surrounding the veins, typical vasculitis and bleeding and necrosis of the pituitary. Conclusions Both central and peripheral nervous systems can be involved in pSS,with complicated clinical manifestations.Electrophysiology, cerebrospinal fluid tests and histopathological examinations by biopsy are essential in diagnosis for neurological lesions in patients with pSS.Inflammatory reaction of the blood vessels and tissues mediated by cell immunity may be involved in mechanism of its neurological lesions.

Objective: To explore the comprehensive effects of folic acid (FA), riboflavin (RF) and MTHFR C677T polymorphism on genomic stability. Method: Cytokinesis-block micronucleus assay was used to detect the effects of different concentration combination of FA (20 and 200nmol/L, i.e. LF and HF) , RF (1 and 500 nmol/L, i.e. LR and HR) and MTHFR C677T polymorphism on genomic stability of 9 d cultured human lymphocytes. Results: The genetic damage was significantly higher in LFHR group regardless the genotype (P
