Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2016;30(5):366-369
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the rare earth elements(REEs) contents and distribution characteristics in nasopharyngeal carcinoma( NPC) tissue in Gannan region.
METHOD:
Thirty patients of NPC in Gannan region were included in this study. The REEs contents were measured by tandem mass spectrometer inductively coupled plasma(ICP-MS/MS) in 30 patients, and the REEs contents and distribution were analyzed.
RESULT:
The average standard deviation value of REEs in lung cancer and normal lung tissues was the minimum mostly. Light REEs content was higher than the medium REEs, and medium REEs content was higher than the heavy REEs content. REEs contents changes in nasopharyngeal carcinoma were variable obviously, the absolute value of Nd, Ce, Pr, Gd and other light rare earth elements were variable widely. The degree of changes on Yb, Tb, Ho and other heavy rare earth elements were variable widely, and there was presence of Eu, Ce negative anomaly(δEu=0. 385 5, δCe= 0. 523 4).
CONCLUSION
The distribution characteristic of REEs contents in NPC patients is consistent with the parity distribution. With increasing atomic sequence, the content is decline wavy. Their distribution patterns were a lack of heavy REEs and enrichment of light REEs, and there was Eu , Ce negative anomaly.

Modern Hospital 2018;18(5):646-648
Objective To provide scientific, popular, interesting and effective health education by exploring various ways. Methods The competition of health education creation works was carried out. The innovative points of three prize-winning works were analyzed. Results There are 48 contestant works from medical staff. Among the innovative points were scientific positioning, easy to understand, the combination of reality and virtuality, and the combination of popularization of science and specialty. Conclusion The passiveness of health education was changed by exploring various ways, which served as a very good model for the innovation of popular science works.

Lactoferrin in milk is a multifunctional protein. In addition, lactoferrin has antiviral, antifungal and antiparasitic activity. In this study, the N-terminus from porcine lactoferrin (PLF-N) was designed to express the antimicrobial action of recombinant porcine lactoferrin. We cloned a 1077 bp fragment of the PLF gene from mammary gland tissue of the lactating sow at the third day. Comparing nucleotide sequence with four strains of PLF gene published on GenBank, the homology was more than 99%. With the reference template of the cloned fragment of PLF-N and optimizing codon bias, we synthesized the gene of N-terminus encoding porcine lactoferrin (PLF-NS). The high expression gene of PLF-NS was cloned into the fusion expression vector pET30b and expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3). After induced with Isopropyl beta-D-1-Thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG), the target fusion protein was successfully expressed and identified in inclusion bodies by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting. The protein had a molecular weight of 42 kDa and accounted for 32% of the total cellular protein. After purification and renaturation, the purity of the expressed protein was 98%. The expressed PLF-NS protein showed obviously antibacterial activity. This method provides an excellent way for high expression of antimicrobial proteins when optimizing codon bias.

Objective:To explore a new teaching method for tourniquets based on BOPPPS teaching model with a goal of unconscious competence, and to maximally increase trainees' application effectiveness of tourniquets. Methods:Theoretic teaching was conducted in accordance with BOPPPS framework; practical curriculum design was made based on a reinforcing stimulus, which was needed in the progress changes within the "unconscious incompetence → conscious incompetence → conscious competence → unconscious competence". This new teaching method was used to train base-force soldiers' rescue skills, and its effect was compared with that of traditional teaching method. The data was analyzed by SPSS 19.0.Results:Trainees who received this new method of training were faster to use tourniquets than those who received traditional method. Conclusion:Applying the BOPPPS model and the conditioned reflex principle which reflected from unconscious incompetence to unconscious competence in the teaching of tourniquets can effectively improve trainees' skills, gaining better results in teaching.

Gonadotropin-releasing-hormone analogues (GnRHa) are widely used in the treatment of premenopausal breast cancer. The anti-tumor effect of GnRHa is similar to that of surgical castration or chemotherapy, through reversibly inhibiting ovarian function and downregulating the estrogen level in premenopausal female. At the same time, GnRHa can protect the ovarian function, avoiding premature ovarian failure. Also GnRHa can reduce the breast density and endometrial thickness, as a result of which GnRHa may be used to prevent breast cancer in the higher risk population and promote quality of life in breast cancer patients. We here review the clinical roles and research progress of GnRHa in breast cancer.
