37% TBSA third degree burns was inflicted to rats and they were decapitated on the third day postburn.The 3H-proline absorption ratio of the everted small intestine of the burn group (1.87?0.27) was significantly lower than that of the control group (2.35?0.49) In the burn group,the ATPase activity of the small intestinal mucosa was 5.61?2.27 nmole/min/mg protein,and the Na+-K+-ATPase activity was 2.86?0.83 nmole/min/mg protein,while they were 9.63?1.04 nmole/min/mg protein and 5.36?0.95 nmole/min/mg protein in the control group respectively.Thus,it was apparent that the two activities decreased markedly in the rats with burn injury It was found that the amino acid absorption ratio was positively correlated with the activity of Na+-K+-ATPase of the small intestine mucosa in the burn group as well in the control group.The relative coefficient was 0.744 p(1) 0.025 in the control,and 0.776 p(1) 0.025 in the burn group.It suggests that the decrease of amino acid absorption ratio in the burn group is likely due to the decreased activity of Na+-K+-ATPase activity.

Objective To assess the effect of intraperitoneal interstitial implant of Sustained-release 5-Fluorouracil during operation for advanced rectal cancer. Methods One hundred and four cases with advanced rectal cancer were enrolled into the study and divided into 3 groups: treatment group 1(n = 37), underwent combined hypotonic peritoneal chemo-hyperthermia and Sustain-released 5-fluorouracil implantation treatment during operation; treatment group 2(n = 34), underwent combined intraoperative hypotonic peritoneal chemohyperthermia and early postoperatively intraperitoneal chemotherapy treatment; and control group(n = 33),underwent peritoneal lavage during radical resection alone. Results Digestive tract toxicity in group 1 was significantly lower than that in group 2(2. 70% vs. 20. 59%, x2 = 9. 104, P ＜ 0. 05). There were significant difference on 1 year survival rate among the three groups. The 2-year survival rate of group 1 was significantly higher than that in the control group (78. 37% vs. 48. 48%, x2 = 1. 297 ,P ＜ 0. 05). After two years follow-up the 2-year local recurrence rate of group 1 was significantly lower than that in the control group(21.62% vs 32. 35 %, x2 = 7. 001, P ＜ 0. 05). However, no significant difference was found compared to group 2, which was 32. 35%. Conclusion lntraperitoneal interstitial implant of Sustain-released 5-Fluorouracil during operation is an effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy with mild side effects for advanced rectal cancer.

The development of transitional epithelium of ureter and urinary bladder in the rats from prenatal 15 days old to postnatal 4 weeks old was studied by histological and histochemical methods. During the development, RNA and glycogen contents are increased at first and then decreased. The activity of SDH,AcP and AlP increased gradually and ATPase reaction was negative. These parameters tended to be stable from the postnatal 3rd week, it meants that the epithelium tend to maturation. On the prenatal 15th day there were some significant differences between the epithelium of the two organs, however thereafter they gradually become identical and they showed the same type of epithelium, i.e. transitional epithelium at maturation. This means that they reached the same goal by different routes. In addition, on the prenatal 15th day the epithelium of urinary bladder stratified in most portions, some of the superficial cells degenerate. Hence it deduced that the epithelium of urinary bladder undergo primitive stratification firstly, nad then cell degeneration happens, and evolve into trasitional form ultimately. Meanwhile, We presume that in certain extent, the development of the epithelium of the two organs, including cell temporary degeneration, in addition to the action of embryonic induction, probably related to the content of urinary tract also.

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of calcium metabolism and identify the calcium intake that produces plateau retention in premenarche Chinese girls. Method:Forty-nine healthy premenarche Chinese girls (9-11.5 y) were recruited, and divided into four groups respectively receiving one of four different doses of calcium intakes for 6 d, 600 mg (usual diet),900 mg (containing 250 ml milk),1 200 mg (containing 250 ml milk and 750 mg CaCO3) and 1 500 mg calcium (250 ml milk and 1500 mg CaCO3) per day. Calium in 3-day urine and stool,and 3-d duplicated food samples were collected to assess the calcium equilibrium during the treatment period. Results: There were no significant differences in apparent calcium absorption among the four groups (55%, 53%, 52% and 52%). The relationship between calcium intake and calcium retention was fitted into a non-liner regression model which showed that the calcium retention was approaching the plateau when calcium intake reached 1100mg/d. Conclusion: The apparent calcium absorption was 53%?0.12% in Chinese premenarche girls with dietary calcium intakes ranged between 600 to 1500 mg/d. Calcium retention approached its plateau when calcium intake reached 1 100 mg/d in Chinese premenarche girls.

Objective To explore the clinical effects of correction the midface depression.Methods From Aug.2010 to Aug.2015,185 cases of midface depression (aged from 18 to 61 years)were corrected by using structural fat grafting technique,the site and volume were placed as follows,tear trough 1ml,lid cheek groove 2 ml,midcheek groove 0.5 ml,anteriorcheek 4-8 ml,nasolabial fold 1-2 ml,nasal alar base 1-2 ml,evator labii superioris 1-2 ml,zygomaticus major 1-2 ml,buccinator 1-3 ml,and upper lip 3-5 ml.Results 185 cases were followed from 3 months to 3 years and the results were evaluated by visual analogue scales;156 cases of midface depression were corrected after the first structural fat grafting,the midface changed from concave to convex,and acquired prominent malar became more attractive;satisfaction of visual analogue scales were more than 80 ％;only 12 cases needed a second grafting.Conclusions The midface concavity can be corrected effectively by using structural fat grafting technique,the results are satisfied and the technique is safe,simple and effective.

Objective To explore the application value of two-dimensional echocardiography with spatio-temporal im-age correlation (STIC) in fetal congenital heart disease (CHD) prenatal ultrasonography. Methods 11 036 hearts of fetus were inspected by severalviews order scanning method and for STIC volume database acquisition and off-line a-nalysis congenital heart disease fetus for autopsy after induced labor or contrast the follow-up results after birth. Re-sults 97 cases with spatio-temp-oral image correlation in 176 cases congenital heart and great vessels exception (dysrhythmias not including) with simple two-dimensional echocardiography,92 cases were accordant (one case with incorporative intracardiac malformation missed diagnosis);in screened congenital heart disease fetus,STIC (n=79) and routine ultrasonography (n=87) took (7.76±2.42) min and (9.68±2.13) min per case,respectively;in dif-ferent gestational weeks,the quality of the images derived from volume datasets were comparable to that directly ob-tained from 2D echocardiography. Conclusion STIC technology can be used as effective supplementary means of 2D echocardiography, and the combination can further improve the prenatal diagnosis of fetal congenital heart disease.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the imaging characteristics of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) and their correlation with histopathological findings.

METHODSCT and MRI imaging and histopathological characteristics of five patients with hepatic EHE were retrospectively reviewed and the correlation of their imaging characteristics with pathological findings was analyzed.

RESULTSA total of 92 lesions were found in the 5 patients, all presenting with multiple nodules. All the 92 lesions were located within a 2-cm zone heneath the hepatic capsule, i.e., the shortest distance from the horder of lesions to the hepatic capsule. 28 of the 92 lesions showed the "capsular retraction" sign. 36 lesions were found in three patients receiving MRI. 77.8% of the 36 lesions demonstrated the "halo" sign on a fat-suppression T2- weighted image, while 91.7% after contrast enhancement. A peripheral dark rim was found in 91.7% of the lesions on a fat-suppression T2-weighted image. In addition, 36.1% of the lesions showed slight internal or edge enhancement at the hepatohiliary phase. In the two patients receiving CT examination, 7 of 56 lesions demonstrated the "halo" sign.

CONCLUSIONSHepatic EHE may manifest as nodular lesions with predilection of peripheral subcapsular growth and nodular confluence, together with "halo" sign and " capsular retraction". The peripheral dark rim on a fat-suppression T2-weighted image and slight enhancement at the hepatobiliary phase can help to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of this hepatic tumor. MRI is superior to CT imaging to denict their intra-lesional characteristics.
