1.Inhibitory effects of rosiglitazone on rat aortic smooth muscle cell proliferation
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
Objective: To explore the inhibitory effect of pharmacological ligand to PPAR?-rosiglitazone on smooth muscle cell proliferation of rat aorta. Methods: smooth muscle cells were prepared from rat aortas using explant technique and identified by their specific growth characteristic and immunocytochemistry. The fifth passage cells were made quiescent by serum starvation for 24 hours, and then cells were stimulated with PDGF-BB or bFGF(20ng/ml) for 24 hours in the presence or absence of rosiglitazone(1~10umol/L),pretreated for 30 minutes.MTT assay was applied to assess cellular viability.Flow cytometry was used for cell cycle analysis. Results: Under microscope, the cultured cells possessed "peak and valley" characteristics for smooth muscle cell.Immunocytochemical staining with specific mAb against ?-actin demonstrated these cells were positive.Smooth muscle cell proliferation was induced by PDGF-BB or bFGF with an increase A490 in MTT.The cell number was reduced in the S phase and increased in the G0/G1 phase.Cell proliferation and transition from G0/G1 to S were inhibited using pretreatment of rosiglitazone in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: Rosiglitazone has inhibitory influence on vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation induced by growth factors.

ObjectiveTo investigate the influencing factors for persevering in pelvic floor muscle exercise in puerperal women and nursing countenneasures.MethodsThe influencing factors for persevering in pelvic floor muscle exercise in 120 puerperal women before June 2010 were analyzed, and they were set as the control group.According to the analysis results, targeted nursing countermeasures were developed, comprehensive care approach that combined nursing intervention with health education were applied in 116 cases of puerperal women from June 2010 to June 2011,who were set as the observation group. The situation of recovery for maternal pelvic floor muscle tension was observed.ResultsThere were four main factors that affected maternal pelvic floor muscle exercise:pelvic floor muscle exercise is not inspected as post-natal visits items, obstetric nurses did not carry out necessary propaganda, did not understand the importance of pelvic floor muscle exercise and lack of knowledge among the puerperal women. The test results for pelvic floor muscle tension were as followed:in the observation group Ⅰ degree was in 9 cases, accounting for 7.76%; Ⅱ degree was in 31 cases, accounting for 26.72%; Ⅲ degree was in 76 cases, accounting for 65.52%.In the control group,I degree was in 35 cases, accounting for 29.17 %; Ⅱ degree was in 44 cases, accounting for 36.67%; Ⅲ degree was in 41 cases, accounting for 34.17%.The recovery effect of pelvic floor muscle tension in the observation group was obviously better than the control group, the difference was significant.ConclusionsFactors influencing the puerperal women in persevering in pelvic floor muscle exercise was various, personalized care and intervention according to the influencing factors can improve compliance of pelvic floor muscle exercise for puerperal women, contribute to the recovery of pelvic floor muscle tension.
6.Discussion of the preservation method of novopen needle after repeated uses
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2009;25(3):19-20
Objective To investigate the safety of novopen needle after repeated uses in order to save the expenses of patients. Methods 60 diabetic patients undergoing insulin therapy were random-ized into the common temperature group and the refrigerated storage group. The novopens were stored at common temperature in a clean and dry place, while the refrigerated storage group was stored in cold clos-et of a refrigerator. Oropharyngeal swab bacterial culture was used to compare the incidence of infection in two groups on the first, third, fifth, and seventh days. Results There was no bacterial growth in either storage condition. Conclusions The novopen needle can be repeatedly used in clinic work. But they must be used individually. Storage at common temperature or in a refrigerater can reach the same effect.
7.Discussion on effect of constitution on disease from the constitutional medical thoughts in Inner Canon of Huangdi
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(04):-
The constitutional medical thoughts in Inner Canon of Huangdi is the foundation for TCM constitution theory, it discusses the influence of constitution on disease in detail. Constitution factors determine the disease onset or not; Constitution factors determine the tendency and character of disease. Constitution factors effect the changes of pathogenesis, the character of syndrome, the therapeutic principle and methods; Constitution factors effect the turnover and prognosis. Constitution therapies are profit to correct the partial body, preventing the development of disease and heal the disease.
8.GENTISATE PATHWAY IN AROMATIC CATABOLISM
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Gentisate (2,5 dihydroxybenzoate) pathway is one of three typical routes for bacterial aromatic catabolism Although it is less common than either of the extensively studied pathways through catechols, the gentisate pathway also plays an important role in bacterial aromatic catabolism This article reviews recent developments of this pathway, both in biochemistry and molecular biology

West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(3):246-251
OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in the craniofacial morphology ofdeepbite from childhood to adulthood using cross-sectional methods. To analyze the maxillofacial characteristics of adult deepbite.
METHODSThe sample included 159 children (with average age of 12.47 years old) and 81 adults (with average age of21.76 years old) with class III deepbite. The control group consisted of51 normal individuals (with average age of 18.41 years old). Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken and recorded in a computer through a scanner. Cephalometric measurements were conducted by using Winceph 7.0 software, and results were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 software.
RESULTSSignificant differences between child and adult deepbite were observed in the following: N-ANS, ANS-Me, A-Ms, A-Ptm, Wits, Mo-Ms, Ii-Ii, A-B plane angle to the mandibular plane angle, Gonial angle, L1 to NB length, overjet, mandibular body to anterior cranial base, Mo-Mi, posterior facial height, U1 to NA length, Pog-Go, Cd-Go, occlusion plane angle to SN, and U1 to SN. In addition, significant differences between adult deepbite and normal occlusion were observed in SNB, ANB, convexity, APDI, ODI, Wits, A-B plane to mandibular plane, Gonial angle, overjet, mandibular body to anterior cranial base, S-Ptm, Mo-Mi U1 to SN; Pog-Go, Cd-Go, posterior cranial base, and occlusion plane to SN and posterior facial height.
CONCLUSIONDeepbite patients have certain growth potential after puberty, but the sagittal relationship of their jaws exhibits no improvement. Adult deepbite patients exhibit significant problems in the vertical and sagittal jaw positions.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2015;(3):286-289,290
Objective To explore the necessity and effect of the motivational interviewing/MIcurriculum in medical school students. Methods Helping smoking cessation in standard patients with coronary heart disease was assumed as the expected goal. MI was carried out for medical school students to master basal knowledge and skills of MI and help using MI methods in persuading smoking quitting. The teaching mode of MI curriculum was comprised of a lecture series and small group dis-cussion with videotaped practice in role plays. Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) scoring tool was applied to assess the teaching effect of MI curriculum with students' performance videotapes. Questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality and efficacy of the MI curriculum, and SPSS 13.0 was used to t test measurement data. Results Analysis of the MITI scores showed students had general mastery of MI knowledge. Nevertheless, they did not reach recommended professional profi-ciency level. The scores of empathy and MI spirit in global ratings were (4.11 ±0.32) and (5.82 ± 0.17), respectively (recommended level, 6 score). In the videotape evaluation of behavior counts, MI adherentreached (70.96%±24.34%) (recommended level, 90%). Open question reached (31.42%±8.51%) (recommended level, 70%). Total refection counts were (7.84±3.22) counts per video (recom-mended level, 10). The standard questions recommended in MI for behavior change were better used by students. 93.75%and 87.50%students used ranking questions to evaluate the importance and con-fidence of smoking quitting. Nevertheless, the exploration questions about importance and confidence were less used to know the reason behind their ranking . The results of questionnaire showed that 83.33%students felt MI curriculum effective to help them improve confidence and skills in counseling with patients. 97.91%students thought the mastery of MI methods as an important skill for physicians to have. Conclusion The teaching practice of MI curriculum in medical school students is necessary and feasible with good teaching results. It is worth for professional counseling regarding unhealthy be-havior change in patients.
