This paper introduces an assist system for the blind. It utilizes ultrasonic to measure the distance and speed. Then the distance signal is converted to position of slip block and the speed signal is converted to tone. The main function of this sytem is to assist the blind to determine distance and speed of objects. It is practical,Simple and inexpensive.

Objective To investigate the natural head position and cervical posture in the patients with different vertical facial patterns with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship, and to clarify the relationships between vertical facial patterns and natural head position, cervical posture in the patients with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship. Methods 94 patients aged 8- 15 years old with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship were selected as the subjects. The subjects were classified into high angle group, average angle group, and low angle group according to their mandibular plane angles. The cephalometric radiographs in natural head position were taken, and the variables representing craniofacial morphology, head position, and craniocervical posture were measured. The intergroup differences in variables were compared. Results The inclinations of mandible to the true vertical and cervical column (ML/VER,ML/OPT,ML/CVT)were smallest in high angle group, and they were largest in low angle group (P <0.01);other variables representing head posture and craniocervical posture (NSL/VER,FH/VER,NSL/OPT,NL/OPT,NSL/CVT,FH/CVT)were largest in high angle group, and they were smallest in low angle group (P <0.05).The inclinations of ramus to cervical column (RL/OPT,RL/CVT)were largest in high angle group and they were smallest in low angle group (P <0.01).There were no significant differences in the inclinations of cervical column and cervical lordosis (OPT/HOR,CVT/HOR,OPT/CVT)among three groups (P >0.05). Conclusion The significant differences exist in natural head position and cervical posture among the patients with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship with different vertical facial patterns (high angle, average angle, low angle);the subjects with high angle show extended head position and cervical posture, while the subjects with low angle exhibit the opposite tendency.

Objective:To study the expression characteristics of Dickkopf1 (DKK1) in different time and space during tooth development of the postnatal mice, and to provide the theoretical basis for clarifying the mechanism of Wnt signaling pathway in regulating the tooth development. Methods:The postnatal Kunming mice at days 0.5, 6.5, 12.5, 18.5, 24.5, and 30.5 respectively after birth were selected and divided into various groups by time, three in each group. The mice in each group were sacrificed and the paraffin sections of mandibular bone including the first molar were prepared at the thickness of 5 μm, followed by HE staining and immunohistochemical staining in order to detect the expressions of DKK1 in tooth tissue and periodontal tissue. Results:At 0.5 d after birth, the mandibular first molar tooth germ was in the bell stage. At 6.5 d the enamel development of mandibular first molar was almost completed, and the epithelium root sheath extended to the root direction. At 12.5 d the dentin development of crown was completed, with the root formatted about 1/3. At 18.5 d the root had formatted about 2/3.At 24.5 d the root had reached the full length. At 30.5 d the apical foramen was narrow, and the root development was basically completed. There was no DKK1 expression at 0.5 d, but it expressed in the odontoblasts and predentin at 6.5 d. From days 12.5 to 30.5,the expressions of DKK1 were positive in periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, and cellular cementum as odontoblasts, which were gradually increased with the prolongation of time. However, no expression of DKK1 was detected in the pulp.Conclusion:DKK1 shows regular expressions at different tooth developmental stages after birth, suggesting its potential role in the growth of dentin and periodontal tissues.

Objective:To explore the technique and clinical effects of free medial plantar flap on reconstruction of the severe defect of thumb caused by electric burn. Methods:Surgical techniques and clinical effects were explored in reconstruction with free medial plantar flap for treatment of severe electric burns of thumbs. From July 2016 to July 2021, 18 patients suffered from severe electric burns of thumbs were admitted in the Department of Burn, Zhengzhou First People's Hospital. All the wounds were the entrance of electric burns. After thorough debridement, the arteries, nerves, tendons, phalanges and interphalangeal joints were exposed to various degrees. Damaged digital proper palmar arteries were ligated and defected proper palmar digital nerves were marked and further anastomosed with the nerves carried by the flap. Palmaris longus tendon grafts were employed to reconstruct the defects of flexor pollicis longus tendon. Wounds were closed by transfer of free medial plantar flaps, and the flap donor sites were closed by inguinal skin grafts. Survival of the flap was observed 1 week after surgery, and the survival of the skin graft in the foot donor site 12 days after surgery. Outpatient follow-up including observation of the appearance and texture of the flap, evaluation of sensory function, thumb alignment and finger flexion according to the Evaluation Trial Standards of Upper Limb Partial Functional of Hand Surgery of Chinese Medical Association. Evaluate the scar hyperplasia in the foot donor site and the standing and walking functions of the donor foot. Results:All flaps survived,at 1 week after surgery. On the 12th day after surgery, all 16 foot flap survived, and 2 patients had local necrosis, and the necrosis healed completely after dressing change for 10 days, the wound healed completely. Among them, 3 patients without tendon transfer experienced a rupture of the flexor pollicis longus tendon at 2 months after surgery, and underwent another palmaris longus tendon transfer. After the surgery, functional exercise was performed with the palm and flexor fingers. After 6-12 months of follow-up, the blood supply, appearance, and texture of the flap were good and similar to that of the palmar skin of the thumb, with varying degrees of recovery in sensation. The TPD was 6-11 mm, and the thumb was restored to varying degrees. According to the Evaluation Trial Standards of Upper Limb Partial Functional of Hand Surgery of Chinese Medical Association, 13 cases in excellent and 5 cases in good. Mild scar hyperplasia remains in the flap site of donor feet, which does not affect the standing and walking functions of the donor foot. Conclusion:The texture of medial plantar skin is similar to that of palmar skin, with good wear resistance and good sensation. Furthermore, it causes a little damage to the donor site and without obvious complication. The medial plantar flap is ideal for reconstruction of a severe wound caused by electric burn in thumb.

OBJECTIVE To provide reference for the clinical application and further research and development of Shenling baizhu powder. METHODS Using the methods of textual research and bibliometrics, the key information such as the composition, dose, processing and usage of Shenling baizhu powder in ancient and modern literature were systematically summarized and sorted out, and the number of publications, keywords, and other contents of modern literature were visually analyzed. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS Shenling baizhu powder was first collected in Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang (abbreviated “Jufang”), the composition of core drugs and most widely used dose ratio in previous generations were the same as those in Jufang, basically focusing on powder making and being taken after mixed with liquid; the dosage was concentrated on 2-3 qian; the function and application of it had been expanded to a certain extent compared with Jufang; its clinical application had gradually extended from internal medicine to surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, etc., covering all aspects of the disease caused by spleen deficiency in general; the composition mechanism revolved around “strengthening the spleen, replenishing qi and removing dampness”; the recommended prescription drugs were all selected from the corresponding varieties in the pharmacopoeia. Modern research mainly focuses on clinical practice, with traditional Chinese medicine or traditional Chinese and Western medicine combined with this formula as the main modified treatment for various intestinal diseases, diarrhea diseases, and lung diseases. The efficacy and application are the frontier hot spots today, and the mechanism of action has begun to be explored. The usage in the literature and the inclusion in the pharmacopoeia are inconsistent, and further research is needed.
