Objective To investigate strain and strain rate of right ventricular(RV)based on twodimensional image by velocity vector imaging in normal subjects.Methods Thirty-two healthy adults were rolled in this study.Echocardiographic images in 4 chamber view were analyzed by conventional manual tracing for volumes and ejection fractions,which were also measured by velocity vector imaging.Myocardial velocity,strain rate,and strain were determined at the basal,mid,and apical segments of the RV free wall and ventricular septum by velocity vector imaging.Results RV ejection fractions obtained with manual tracing correlated strongly with the same indexes obtained by velocity vector imaging method in all subjects(r=0.91,P＜0.01).The strain and strain rate value of middle segment and basal segment in RV free wall were higher than those of apical segment.There were same trend in ventricular septal.The strain and strain rate of middle segment and basal segment in RV free wall were higher than those of homologous segments in ventricular septal,but the indexes of apical segment in free wail and septal had no difference.The strain and strain rate in RV were not correlated with age.Conclusions Velocity vector imaging could accurately and quantitatively assess the strain and strain rate of RV.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and accuracy of velocity vector imaging(VVI)to assess strain and strain rate of right ventrieule(RV)during varying myocardial functional states.Methods VVI of the longitudinal RV were recorded in 7 closed-chest anesthetized mongrel dogs from the apical 4-chamber view during 3 different inotropic states.Peak dp/dt from the RV contraction during the right cardiac catheterization,which was used as the gold standard of RV contractility,was obtained simultaneously in each inotropic state.Peak systolic velocities(V), peak systolic strain rates(SR),peak systolic strains(S)at the basal, middle and apical segments of RV free wall and septal from the longitudinal axis were quantitatively measured by using VVI software system respectively.Results The peak systolic strain and strain rate of the longitudinal RV free wall and septal were increased with the infusion of dobutamine and decreased with the infusion of metoprolol.A significant correlation was found between peak RV dp/dt and RV mean strain and mean strain rate(r=0.79, 0.75;P <0.01).Among all RV segments, the peak systolic S,SR of RV basal free wall had the most significant correlation to peak dp/dt (r=0.83,0.78;P<0.01).Conclusions Strain rate imaging drived from VVI could quantitatively and sensitively detect the longitudinal RV contractile function.Peak systolic S and SR determined at the longitudinal RV basal free wall were the strong noninvasive indices of RV contractility.

Objective To investigate if there are differences in hematological indexes between BALB/c mutant curly mice and normal BALB/c mice.Methods 6 week old BALB/c mutant curly and normal BALB/c mice of each 20 ( male and female) were selected, and 8 blood routine indexes and 15 serum electrolytes and biochemical indexes were detected using automatic blood cell analyzer and automatic biochemical detection, and the results of two groups were compared.Results The sex and group results of WBC,MCV,PLT and MCHC between BALB/c mutant curly mice and normal mice have significant differences ( P <0.05, P<0.01 );the sex and group results of Na+、K+and Cl-between BALB/c mutant curly mice and normal mice have significant differences( P<0.05,P<0.01);the sex and group results of ALT、GLU and TG between BALB/c mutant curly mice and normal mice have significant differences(P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion Some hematological indexes between BALB/c mutant curly and normal BALB/c mice are different clearly, and these results will provide the theoretical references for researching and using mutant curly mice model.

Objective To explore the expression of REG4 and survivin in colorectal cancer, and to analyze the relationship with clinicopathologic features. Methods The expression of REG4 and survivin in 92 colorectal cancer and corresponding normal mucosa was evaluated by immunohistochemistry combining tissue microarray. The relationship between REG4 and survivin and clinicopathologic parameters were statistically assessed. Results The positive expression of REG4 and survivin in colorectal cancer were 53.3% (49/92) and 64.1% (59/92). The positive rates were 8.6% (8/92) and 3.3% (3/92) in the normal mucosa. The level of both REG4 and survivin in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa (P < 0.05). REG4 expression was related to differentiation, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage, while survivin was significantly correlated with the lymph node metastasis and TNM stage (P < 0.05). Both were not correlated with the patient′s gender, age, tumor size (P > 0.05). REG4 expression was positively associated with survivin (r =0.208, P<0.05). Conclusion REG4 and survivin were upregulated in colorectal carcinoma, and may be involved in the occurrence of colorectal cancer.

[Summary] To discuss blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes undergoing insulin therapy.A randomized controlled trial was conducted in type 2 diabetics who were taking insulin and who had an HbA1C level ≥ 8％,with a 6-month follow-up period.70 diabetic patients were randomly and equally divided into control group who received standard care,and intervention group who received an individualized personalized medical treatment with health education.The main outcome measures were change of HbA1C,diabetes and medication knowledge,adherence to medications,family blood glucose monitoring,and insulin injection techniques.Questionnaire was used to evaluate the outcomes before and after the intervention.The medication and diabetes knowledge,medication adherence,the correct way for home blood glucose monitoring were significantly improved in intervention group,while remained unchanged in the control group.After 6 months,HbA1C values were significantly reduced in the intervention group while remained unchanged in the controls.The quality of life also significantly improved in the intervention group.

Objective:To study the efficacy and safety of natural calcined bone repair material(NCBM)in repairing bone defect af-ter tooth extraction.Methods:A randemized,double-blinded,parallel,positive control(Bio-Oss)and multi-center clinical trial was employed.Imaging examination was used as the main efficacy evaluation index,surgical wound healing,rejection reaction,bone me-tabolic changes,bone infection signs were the subordinate efficacy evaluation indexes,the incidence of adverse reactions was observed for safety evaluation.Results:280 cases were included,269 cases completed the trial.In NCBMand Bio-Oss group the effective rate of imaging examination was 93.08% and 93.70%(P >0.05)respectively.The wound healing time of the 2 groups was less than 7 days,no rejection reaction,bone metabolic change and bone infection sign were observed.The incidence of adverse events in NCBM and the Bio-Oss group was 0.72% and 2.14%(P >0.05)respectively.Conclusion:The efficacy and safety between natural cal-cined bone repair material is not inferior to Bio-Oss in repairing bone defect after tooth extraction.

Objective To analyze MRI features of different cervical flexion positions in Hirayama disease (HD) and discuss the effects on these features by different cervical flexion angles.Methods The cervical MR images of neutral and different flexion positions (20°, 25°, 30°, 35° ,40°) of 20 patients, who were clinically diagnosed as HD,were studied.At flexion positions, the appearance of anterior shifting of the posterior wall of the cervical dural canal and widening of epidural space was recorded.The maximum sagittal diameters (d) of widened cervical epidural space and the cervical canal sagittal diameters (D) on the same level were measured to calculate d/D value for quantitative evaluation of the two signs.Comparisons of appearance of the signs among different flexion positions were made using F/sher's exact test.Repeated measures analysis of variance (rmANOVA) was used to compare mean d/D values among groups with different positions, and paired comparisons were also performed.Results The appearance of anterior shifting of the posterior wall of the cervical dural canal were different between 20° group (70%, 14/20) and other 4 larger angles groups (100%) (χ2 =5.76, P=0.020).The d/D values were 0.51±0.06,0.54±0.08,0.57±0.09,0.61±0.09,0.59±0.07 respectively at abovementioned 5 flexion positions, which were different among groups( F = 3.450 ,P = 0.013 ).The value was greater at 35° than that at 20° and 25°( P <0.05 ), and it was also greater at 40° than that at 20° ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusion Cervical flexion angle has an effect on anterior shifting of the posterior wall of the cervical dural canal and widening of epidural space.

Objective To investigate the attitude toward and perception of the risk of nuclear power plant among the public residing in vicinity of nuclear power plant,as well as the related factors.Methods A face-to-face interview on perceived radiation risks was conducted among 1408 individuals in Liangyungang City, Jiangsu Province.where the Tianwan nuclear power plant was under construction.The four groups was defined according to the distance between the residence of the subjects and the Tianwan nuclear power plant:<4 km,4- 8 km,8-30 km and 30-50 km.A was used to collect information on education,working history,religion, perception of major industries hazards especially nuclear power plant,and major factors may influence their perceptions.Ordinal logistic regression model was used to analyze the data.Results About 91.18% of the interviewee heard about the nuclear power plant,35.36% of them had knowledge about Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident,71.05% of them believed that the nuclear power plant had no negative effects on environments, 37.03% of them believed that the nuclear energy was safe.74.27% of them believed that it was necessary for China to develop nuclear energy.63.29% of them supported the construction of the nuclear power plant in local area.Ordinal logistic regression analysis revealed that the higher education,higher family annual income,male, economic benefits from the nuclear power plant construction,and trust in local government having competency to handling emergencies were positive factors;otherwise,impression on nuclear power plant of bad influences on environment and health were negative factors.An inverted U-shaped with a right tailing relationship between negative attitudes toward nuclear power plant and distance to the plant was found.Conclusions Education, gender,family annual income and expectation of economic benefit returns were the major factors influencing the perception of and attitudes toward nuclear power plant.More works needed to be done to mitigate the negative attitude of the residents in vicinity of nuclear power plant and enhance the public acceptability .

Liver is no longer the only organ in the concept of anatomy,but it is a concept that has some specific functions in the visceral manifestations of liver.Liver is wood in the five element theory.It is yang of yin.Liver qi connects to the spring qi.Therefore,the liver function is to dredge and smooth qi of the whole body,which influences the blood and body fluid operation,the operation of the spleen and stomach,emotional changes and reproductive function and many other aspects.Suwen said "liver stores blood",which means that liver has the function of storing,regulating and controlling blood."Liver corresponds to the spring",which means changes in four seasons can affect the function of organs,but also contain the disease occurrence with a seasonal concept,which is an important part of visceral manifestation of liver.Modern medical research achieved some results from the nerve-endocrine-immune network,traditional four-axis,liver-blood vessels as the starting point for the liver as the theoretical mechanism of in-depth study.It was found that depression due to liver failed in soothing was related to the central cortex,the marginal system and the hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.The study covered neuropeptide and neurotrophic factor,monoamine neurotransmitter,central amino acid level,and etc.Liver stores blood,which is related to human coagulation system,EPO pathway and hemorheology.Liver corresponds to the spring,which is related to the neuroendocrine-immune network.And the pineal gland may be the highest regulatory site.At present stage,the study was conducted on the microcosmic mechanism of liver visceral manifestations from the gene and protein level.It was used to verify the regulation of liver function abnormality caused by the regulation of liver function in order to greatly explore the biological basis of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory.
