Objective To investigate the regularity of changes an d the base line of physiological deficiency of ventricular diastolic function in normal individuals. Methods Non-invasive echocardiography was employed for monitoring hemodynamics of the ventricular diastolic function in n ormal individuals. 240 volunteers were divided into four groups by age, i.e. juv enile, youth, middle-aged and elderly groups. Items of examination included the diameter of cardiac chambers by two-dimensional (2D) echogram, velocity of dia stole of ventricular wall by M mode, velocity and ratio of blood flow at left an d right atrio-ventricular valves and pulmonary vein by spectral Doppler, fillin g phase and duration of filling of ventricles in diastolic phase by color Dopple r. Results Of mitral valve, tricuspid valve and pulmonary vein, a series of dynamic parameters of blood flow were correlated closely with the a ge. The ventricular diastolic function of normal person deteriorated physiologic ally with the passage of years, characterized by a normal stage in juvenile and young ages, compliant decreased stage in middle-age, and declined functional st age in aged. The declination course started in the left ventricle prior to the r ightventaide. Conclusion The results of the present study may b e helpful for further clinical researches on the mechanisms of changes in human ventricular diastolic function.

Objective To study the influence of arachidonic acid (AA) on L-type calcium channel in rabbits sin-gle cardiomyocyte and its mechanism of antiarrhythmia. Method The single ventricular cardiomyocyte was isolat-ed by using enzyme dispersion method and whole-cell clamp-patch technique was used to record L-type calcium current. All data were analyzed using ANOVA. Results AA inhibited Ica-L in a concentration-dependent manner. The application of 3 μmol/L, 10 μmol/L and 20 μmol/L arachidonic acid reduced the density of peak Ica-L from (10.79±0.93)pA/pF to (8.99±0.43)pA/pF to (7.60±0.35)pA/pF and to (5.60±0.30)pA/pF, respctive-ly (n=7, P<0. O1 ). The Ica-Lpartially resumed after washout. The AA up-shifted the I-V curves of Ica-L without changes of their shape, peak and reverse potentials. The AA also markedly shifted the inactivation curve to left, and prolonged the recorvery time from inactivation, but did not change the curve of calcium channel activation. Con-clustions By acceleration of L-type calcium channel inactivation and prolongation of recorvery time from inactiva-fion,arachidonic acid can reduce the calcium ion influe and prolong effective refractory period, playing the role of antiarrhythmia.

N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) protects rats administrated with gadolinium-based contrast agents from renal injury, however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.A 1H NMR-based metabolomics approach coupled with OPLS-DA (orthogonal projection to latent structure with discriminant analysis) was used to analyze the effect of NAC on urinary metabolic changes for Chronic Renal Failure Rats administrated with Gd-DTPA (Gd-Diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid).Combined with univariate analysis of integral area, the significantly changed metabolites were selected to screen out the potential metabolic disturbances that induced by Gd-DTPA and NAC.These researches may attribute to study of the protective effect of NAC from renal failure induced by gadolinium-based contrast agents. The disturbance of energy metabolism, urea cycle and kynurenine metabolism were observed from the CRF group.Gd-DTPA caused the reduction of urinary choline, TMAO, o-HPA, p-HPA, hippurate, glycine, nicotinate and taurine accompanied with the elevation of allantoin.Metabonomic recovery in the NAC group was observed, which implied that NAC protects rats with chronic renal failure from Gd-DTPA induced disturbances of gut microbiota metabolism, liver mitochondria metabolism and kynurenine metabolism. The replenishment of glutathione in cells and the recovery of urea cycle that caused by NAC may protect rats from oxidative damage and renal injury.

Objective To investigate the status of undergraduates′ sub-health and explore the relationship between personality traits and sub-health and the mediating role of self-harmony. Methods A total of 196 undergraduate nursing students in Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were investigated by Sub-health Self-rating Scale (SSS), Self Consistency and Congruence Scale (SCCS) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Short Scale. Results The the total scores of the undergraduate nursing students′personality traits, self-harmony and sub-health were 22.71±4.90, 102.74±14.41, 182.54± 31.76. The neuroticism and extroversion of personality traits were significantly correlated with self-harmony and sub-health (P<0.01). Neuroticism had a significant prediction on self-harmony (β=0.37, P<0.01) and sub-health (β=-0.64, P<0.01), after controlling self-harmony, the prediction on sub-health was reduced, but still significant (β=-0.56, P<0.01);extroversion had a significant prediction on self-harmony (β=-0.27, P<0.01) and sub-health (β=0.54, P<0.01), after controlling self-harmony, the prediction on sub-health was reduced, but still significant (β=0.46, P < 0.01). Conclusions The sub-health status of undergraduate nursing students was not optimistic. Nursing students′ personality traits of psychoticism, extroversion, which directly impact on the health status, and through self-harmony indirectly affect their health level, self-harmony played a intermediary role between personality traits and sub-health.

Wistar rats were intragastrically administered with different doses (2, 5 and 10 g / kg body weight) of haematitum. 1H NMR-based metabonomic analysis coupled with multivariate statistical analysis (principal component analysis and partial least squares-discriminant analysis) was used to analyze the metabolic profiles of the urine samples collected from the treated rats. Univariate analysis on the 1H NMR spectra of urine (1 d before administration, 1-5 d post administration) was used to screen out the potential features of haematitum. Significant treatment related changes were observed for the levels of citrate, tuarine, creatinine,α-ketoglutarate, succinate and dimethylglycine, which could be used as potential features of haematitum. A trend of recovery in connection with dose levels was observed overtime. Such biochemical changes indicated that haematitum treatment at the dose of 2, 5 and 10 g / kg body weight affected the Krebs cycle and glucose metabolism, energy metabolism, choline metabolism and dimethylglycine metabolism in rats. These changes may attribute to the disturbances of hepatic function in 10 g / kg body weight group.
