BACKGROUND: Self-repairing capability of articular cartilage tissue is poor, due to lack of the distribution of vessels and lymph.OBJECTIVE: To concisely describe the research progress of autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI), including matrix-induced autologous chondrocyte implantation (MACI), in vivo scaffolds, and related tissue engineering technologies, and to prospect the future developments.METHODS: A search across the databases of ISI Web of Knowledge and PubMed (1979 to February 2009) was performed, with key words of "articular cartilage, transplantation, stern cells, tissue engineering". As well, a search in the database of CNKI (1979 to Febraruy 2009) was performed with the key words of "articular cartilage, repair, tissue engineering". Contents referring to ACI,MACI, in vivo scaffolds and related tissue engineering technologies were included, while contents regarding to the clinical imaging of articular cartilage defects, intracellular signaling pathways in chondrocytes, or gene therapy for articular cartilage defects were excluded.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: 824 articles were obtained from the preliminary search across the databases. Based on the nominated evaluation criterions to the outcome, analysis focusing on ACI, MACI, in vivo scaffolds and related tissue engineering technologies was performed. As the most successful treatment for articular cartilage defects in the past decade, ACI has undergone a significant development. Recent improvements of ACI include MACI, in vivo scaffolds and related tissue engineering technologies, which exhibit relatively more success in engineering and clinical practice. Nonetheless, limitations still exist and therefore, further researches are required. As a promising alternative of ACI, MACI is more and more widely used in clinical practice for treating articular cartilage defects these years. The long-term curative effect of MACI, however, requires further clinical data to confirm. In addition, other improvements of ACI, in terms of material science, cytology and molecular biology, have been also provided by the developments of in vivo scaffolds and related tissue engineering technologies.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation in intervening constipation during chemotherapy in breast cancer patients.Method Ninety breast cancer patients undergone chemotherapy were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 45 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by conventional nursing care, while the treatment group was additionally intervened by transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation. The clinical efficacies were compared between the two groups.Result The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group versus 73.3% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion Transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation can effectively inhibit the incidence of constipation during chemotherapy in breast cancer patients.

Objective To evaluate the effects of autophagy on contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) in rat models.Methods Eighteen male rats were divided into control group (Con),CI-AKI group (CI-AKI) and rapamycin-pretreated group (Rapa).In the CI-AKI group,CI-AKI was induced by intraperitoneal injection of iohexol (12.25 g/kg I).In the Rapa group,rapamycin was given by intraperitoneal injection with a dose of 5 mg/(kg ·d) for consecutive 7 days,and then injected with iohexol (12.25 g/kg I).Rats in the Con group were injected by the same dose of saline.The renal function,renal histopathology,and the levels of LC3 Ⅱ / Ⅰ and Beclin-1 as well as catalase (CAT) in the kidneys of rats were evaluated one day after the injection.Results Compared with the Con group,serum creatinine in the CI-AKI group was significantly increased ((239.93±27.00)μmol/L) vs (51.70±10.59) μmol/L,P＜0.05),and the content of CAT was significantly decreased ((14.86 ± 0.32) U/mg vs (18.72±1.46) U/mg,P＜0.05).In the CI-AKI group,renal tubules were severely injured,and the expression of autophagy-related proteins LC3 Ⅲ / Ⅰ and Beclin-1 in renal tissue was increased.Compared with the CI-AKI group,the pretreatment of rapamycin (Rapa group) increased the expression of LC3 Ⅱ / Ⅰ and Beclin-1 as well as the content of CAT in renal tissue ((17.62±1.86) U/mg vs (14.86±0.32) U/mg,P＜0.05),and inhibited the increase of contrast-induced serum creatinine ((187.62± 47.76) μmol/L vs (239.93±27.00) μmol/L,P＜0.05) and renal tubule injury.Conclusions The results showed that contrast administration can induce autophagy activation in kidneys,while enhancing autophagy can attenuate contrast-induced oxidative stress injury and related renal injury.

Objective:To study the stress distribution in bone with different densities around dental implants in different shape.Methods:Dental implants in the shape of cylinder,thread and steps were implanted into the mandibular bone at the position of the first molar with 4 different densities respectively.Three-dimension finite element models were rebuilt and stress distribution in the bone around implants were investigated. Results:In the same load and bone density conditions, cylindrical implant resulted in lowest peak stress value,the same implant in mandibular bone with higher density produced lower stress peak value.Conclusion:Dental implatns in the shape of cylinder and higher density of the bone around the implant may reduce stress concentration.

Objective To observe the changes in the level of serum cystatin C and the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in the kidney after the development of diabetic nephropathy in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats, and to study their correlation. Methods Sixteen female Wistar rats were used to reproduce diabetes by interperitoneal injection of STZ (60mg/kg). Immunohistochemical staining was employed to detect the expressions of MMP-9 in kidneys with image analysis system, and ELISA was used to determine serum cystatin C after 4 or 8 weeks. The correlation between MMP-9 and cystatin C was analyzed by SPSS 10.0. Results The expressions of MMP-9 in diabetic kidneys both at the 4th and the 8th week (8.180?0.905 and 3.948?0.623, respectively) were significantly lower than that of normal control rats (15.620?3.444 and 16.185?3.120, respectively. Objective: To investigate the psychological stress among nurses in the Department of Emergency, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, so as to provide the evidence for formulating targeted psychological health interventions. Methods: All nurses from Department of Emergency, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital were enrolled, and participants' demographics, professional title, working duration, family support and participation in public health emergency responses were collected using questionnaire surveys. The development of psychological stress during the latest one week was evaluated using the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) scale, and factors affecting psychological stress were identified. Results: A total of 121 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the participants included 6 men (4.96%) and 115 women (95.04%) and had a mean age of (41.49±4.61) years; and mean service length of (12.14±2.61) years. There were 83 participants that were married (68.60%), 71 with a bachelor degree (58.68%), 60 with a medium-grade professional title (49.59%). The mean score of psychological stress symptoms was 213.43±18.58, which was significantly higher than national norm (124.57±14.31; t=12.194, P<0.001). The detection of psychological stress was 31.40% among the participants, and the presence of psychological stress correlated with age of 40 years and older (χ2=4.826, P=0.028), no family support (χ2=40.420, P<0.001), and no participation in public health emergency responses (χ2=33.767, P<0.001). Conclusions A high degree of psychological stress is detected among nurses in Department of Emergency of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, and age, family support and emergency response capability are factors affecting psychological stress.

Objective To investigate the application of three stages enhanced scan of multi-slice spiral CT for the characteristic analysis on the wall and lumen of colorectal mucous adenocarcinoma.Methods 51 patients with colorectal mucinous adenocarcinoma who had complete pathologic diagnosis were studied.GE Discovery CT 750HD scanner was used for line scan,arterial and portal venous phase scan,and delayed scan.The lesions of intestinal wall,enteric cavity and proximal normal lumen were observed by line scan and enhanced scan,and the related quantitative value and CT value were observed.Results The intestinal wall was uneven annular thickening or hemispherical thickening.The thickening intestinal wall showed lobular changes around the inner margin,outer margin,or without lobular changes.The hierarchical sign and cystoids sign were observed with three layers or two layers structure after enhanced scan.Metastases of the larger lymph node,liver,ovaries were characterized similar to cyst.According to the form,the stenosis was divided into natural streamlined,irregular fixed,and irregular constrictive types.The proximal normal intestinal canal of the lesion showed occlusion,mild expansion or severe expansion.Conclusions Walls of colorectal mucous adenocarcinoma was uneven annular thickening or hemispherical thickening,in which calcification was found,and there was features of similar to layer and cyst after enhancement.The stiff intestinal wall appeared less,and the proximal bowel obstruction was rare.Therefore,depend on these characteristics,the diagnosis of colorectal mucous adenocarcinoma can be achieved.

Objective:To investigate ulinastatin (UTI) combined with Xingnaojing injection in the treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage (ACH) and its effect on the serum high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP),D-dimer (D-D) and neuron specific enolase(NSE) levels.Methods:110 cases of ACH patients admitted in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method.The control group was given UTI treatment,while the observation group was given UTI combined with Xingnaojing treatment.Then the brain edema absorption effect,NIHSS score,serum hs-CRP,D-D and NSE levels before and after the treatment of the two groups were recorded and compared;the safety ofmedicidstion of the two groups was evaluated.Results:At the 14th day after treatment,the total effective rate of cerebral hematoma absorption in the observation group was 89.1％,which was significantly higher than 67.3％ of the control group (P＜0.01).At the 14th day after treatment,the NIHSS scores of both groups were significantly lower than those before the treatment (P＜0.01);compared with that of the control group of the same time period,at the 14th day after treatment,the improvement effect of NIHSS score in the observation group was more significant (P＜0.01).Compared with those before the treatment,the serum hs-CRP,D-D and NSE levels of both groups at the 14th day after treatment were significantly decreased (P＜0.01);at the 14th day after treatment,the serum indicators of the observation group improved more significantly than those of the control group (P＜0.01).The incidence rate of adverse reaction in the observation group was 3.6％ compared with 5.5％ of the control group (P＞0.05).Conclusion:Ulinastatin combined with Xingnaojing Injection could rapidly relieve or eliminate hematoma in the treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage,control the inflammatory response,improve the blood coagulation system and fibrinolytic system,protect the nerve cells and reduce the neurological damagee.
