Objective To compare the effect and adverse reaction of ultrasound-guided ESWL and UPL in the treatment of ureteral stones.Methods According to the different treatment method,80 patients with ureteral stones were divided into URL group and ESWL group.The effective rate and the incidence rate of complications were compared between the two groups.Results In ESWL group,the success rate for upper gravel was 92.3％,the success rate of lower ureteral stone lithotripsy was 55.6％,there was significant difference between them(x2 =0.049,P ＜ 0.05).In UPL group,the success rate of lower ureteral stone lithotripsy was 96.0％,and the total success rate of stone was 87.5％,while those in ESWL group were 55.6％ and 75.0％,the differences were significant between the two groups(x2 =0.001,0.032,all P ＜ 0.05),but there was no significant difference in the success rate of upper gravel between the two groups(P ＞ 0.05).The incidence rate of hematuria in ESWL group was 82.5％,which was significantly lower than 97.5 ％ in the UPL group (x2 =0.034,P ＜ 0.05).The incidence rates of fever,pain in renal region,nausea and vomiting were 17.5％,42.5％,37.5％ in the ESWL group,which were significandy higher than those in the UPL group (x2 =0.023,0.033,0.004,all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Compared with ESWL,UPL has high success rate of lower ureteral stone lithotripsy,less complications.

Objective To evaluate renal vascular damage (RVLs) and detect the expression of miR-145 in children with lupus nephritis (LN).Methods Clinical data of 41 cases of LN diagnosed by renal biopsy from the children with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were collected. Glomerular damage score and RVLs were evaluated. The children were divided into groups according to RVLs score and pathological pattern. In situ hybridization was performed to detect the expression of miR-145 in kidney blood vessel. Differences in RVLs, miR-145 expression in the renal blood vessels and glomerular damage score were observed among the groups with different renal pathological pattern. Differences in clinical parameters, glomerular damage score and miR-145 expression in the renal blood vessels were investigated among groups with different RVLs. Objective To understand the situation of medication treatment in out-patients with hypertension.Method 1 210 out-patients with hypertension were investigated by ourselves-made questionnaire on their medication treatment at home.Results In all of the patients,there was only 30.74% of them persisting in taking regular medication.The control rate on blood pressure was 70.96% in patients with regular taking medication and 28.99% in patients with irregular taking medication.The rates of regular taking medication in goverment staff,teachers and retirees were higher.The compliance with medication treatment was increased with the age.There was 79.83% of patients discontinued to take medication after 3-6 months of medication treatment.Conclusion The situation of medication treatment in outpatients is less optimistic.We should strengthen the blood pressure controll in outpatients of the young aged,workers and peasants.

Objective To investigate the expression level of LMO1 in gastric cancer tissues and human gastric cancer cell lines,and explore the invasive and metastatic potential of LMO1 gene silencing by small interfering RNA on the human gastric cancer cell line MKN28.Methods Immunohistochemical technique was applied to detect the expression of LOM1 protein in gastric cancer tissues and tumor adjacent tissues of paraffin specimens in 30 cases.The expression levels of LMO1 in human gastric cancer cell lines AGS,BGC-823,SGC-7901,MKN28 and human gastric mucosal epithelial cells GES were detected by realtime-PCR and Western blot.Using LipofectamineTM 2000,LMO1 siRNA was transfected into MKN28 cellsin vitro (siRNA transfect group).Negative control was established.Real time-PCR and Western blot was used to examine the difference of LMO1 expression.Transwell assays were performed to identify the differences and changes of invasive and metastatic ability in gastric cancer cell line MKN28.Western blot was used to examine the expression levels of E-cadherin,MMP-9 and VEGF.Results Positive rate of LOM1 protein in gastric cancer tissues(77％)was higher than that in tumor adjacent tissues (17％) (x2 =21.70,P ＜ 0.01).Positive rate of Vavl protein was higher in lymphatic metastasis group than in non-lymphatic metastasis group(x2 =5.83,P =0.02).Compared with GES,the expression level of LMO1 increased significantly in gastric cancer cell lines,especially in MKN28 (P ＜ 0.01).The expression levels of LMO1 mRNA and protein in LMO1-siRNA transfected MKN28 cells were lower than the matched negative control cells (P ＜0.01).The invasive and metastatic potentials of LMO1-siRNA transfected MKN28 cellssignificantly decreased (t =-11.53,P ＜0.01;t =-10.68,P ＜0.01).The expression levels of E-cadherin were higher than the matched negative control cells;and MMP-9,VEGF protein in LMO1-siRNA transfected MKN28 cells were lower than the matched negative control cells (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions LMO1 has higher expression level in gastric cancer tissues and some gastric cancer cell lines,and down-regulation of LMO1 can inhibit the invasion and metastasis ability of gastric cancer.

BACKGROUND:The elastic modulus of the fiber post is close to that of the dentine, so they can form a homogeneous whole and share the masticatory force, which can ease the stress concentration of dentine and prevent from tooth fracture. OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical effects of anterior teeth with flared root canals restored by fiber posts using three application methods. METHODS:Anterior teeth with flared root canals from 48 patients were involved. They were divided into three groups, then restored with three post-core crowns respectively: a single fiber post, rehabilitation with composite resin, and fiber post combined with accessory post. Al patients were folowed up for 2 years to observe post and core loosening, fracture and root fracture. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The group of a single fiber post was failed in eight teeth including four cases of post and core loosening and four cases of post and core fracture, with a successful rate of 64%. The group of rehabilitation with composite resin was failed in three teeth including two cases of post and core loosening and one case of post and core fracture, with a successful rate of 90%. The group of fiber post combined with accessory post was failed in two teeth of post and core loosening, with a successful rate of 93%. The successful rate of the group of a single fiber post was lower than that of the groups of rehabilitation with composite resin and fiber post combined with accessory post (P < 0.05) . The difference between the groups of rehabilitation with composite resin and fiber post combined with accessory post was not statisticaly significant (P > 0.05). The clinical effects of rehabilitation with composite resin and fiber post combined with accessory post are better than that of a single fiber post. But the method of combination fiber post with accessory post is recommended because of easy operation.

BACKGROUND:The elastic modulus of the fiber post is close to that of the dentine, so it can form a homogeneous whole and share the masticatory force, which can ease the stress concentration of dentine and prevent from tooth fracture. ＜br> OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of alveolar bone height and fiber post length on the fracture resistance of endodontical y treated maxil ary central incisors. ＜br> METHODS:Forty-eight human maxil ary central incisors were assigned randomly to six groups (n=8) of three different post insertion depths (5, 7, 9 mm) and two alveolar bone levels (2 and 5 mm) from the cement-enamel junction. Al of them were restored by glass fiber posts with composite resin core and cast metal crown. The samples were loaded in a testing machine with a crosshead speed of 1 mm/min at a 45° angle to the long axis of the tooth on the palatal surfaces until tooth fracture occurred. The maximum load and failure mode were recorded. ＜br> RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Alveolar bone height had a significant influence on the fracture resistance (F=560.943, P>0.05), but fiber post length did not have a significant influence on it (P>0.05). Significant differences were found between the normal and resorbed alveolar bone groups in the number of repairable fracture patterns (χ2=5.689, P＜0.05). Under the circumstance of lowered alveolar bone height, lengthening fiber post cannot enhance fracture resistance of the teeth.

Objective To observe and identify the osteogenic activity,biocompatibility and mechanical property of a type of macro-pore bone block bioactive glass in rabbits.Methods Establish the femoral condyle defect model with New Zealand white rabbit.Implant in the defect with macro-pore bone block bioglass,β-TCP and NOVABONE(R) respectively.According to the different materials implanted in the defect,three groups were divided as macro-pore bone block bioglass group,β-TCP group and NOVABONE group.After the surgery,X-ray examination was performed to confirm the location and fixation of the materials and to observe the femoral condyle fracture.The specimens were harvested at 4,12 and 24 weeks after the surgery respectively.MicroCT was performed to assess the new bone formation and degradation of the materials.Tetracycline-calcein double labeling was used to detect the mineral apposition rate of new bone.Van Gieson staining was used to assess the new bone formation percentage.Biomechanical markers including the compress strength and elasticity modulus were also measured.Results X-ray examination showed that each femoral defect was filled fully with materials and the materials were all in proper position.As indicated by MicroCT results,at 24 weeks,the bone regeneration volume fraction of each group was 37.48％ ±0.70％,25.29％± 1.45％,27.03％±1.25％ respectively and the difference between macro-pore bone block group and β-TCP group or NOVABONE group was statistically significant.The residual material volume fraction of each group was 34.67％±3.52％,55.66％±2.05％,7.52％± 1.15％ respectively and the difference between macro-pore bone block group and β-TCP group or NOVABONE group was statistically significant.The results of tetracycline-calcein double labeling showed that the mineral apposition rate in macro-pore bone block bioglass group,β-TCP group and NOVABONE group at 4 weeks was (1.577±0.045) um/d,(2.064±0.068)um/d,(1.19±0.09)um/d respectively and the difference between macro-pore bone block bioglass group and β-TCP group was statistically significant.As shown by the results of Van Gieson staining,the new bone area percentage of macro-pore bone block bioglass group,β-TCP group and NOVABONE group was 5.43％± 1.25％,2.77％±0.85％,6.51％± 1.21％ at 4 weeks,8.48％±0.84％,2.94％±0.65％,11.42％±2.66％ at 12 weeks,23.55％± 1.13％,12.92％±0.45％,19.53％±0.91％ at 24 weeks.The difference between macro-pore bone block bioglass group and β-TCP group or NOVABONE group at 24 weeks was statistically significant.By biomechanical test,the compress strength of specimens in macro-pore bone block bioglass group and β-TCP group increased as time prolonged,with no statistically significant between the two groups.The elasticity modulus of specimens in macro-pore bone block bioglass group and NOVABONE group was stable after surgery,closer to the rabbit bone,while elasticity modulus of the β-TCP group increased a lot,unsuit to the rabbit bone.Conclusion Macro-pore bone block bioglass presented good biological activity,biocompatibility and suitable biomechanical properties.This research loaded foundation for the application in weight-bearing sites of this new material.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of endovascular angioplasty and stenting for the treatment of TASC B,C arteriosclerotic occlusion(ASO) of lower extremity.Methods After the identification of the occlusion by angiography via femoral artery access by Seldinger method,the occluded arteries (mean length 7.5cm; range 1~20 cm) in 40 patients(47limbs) were treated by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stent placement. Results The primary recanalization was successful in 45 of 47 limbs. The technical successful rate was 96%. Thirty one self-expanding stents were deployed. PTA without stent placememt was performed in 16 limbs(of them,11 were blow knee).The ankle brachial pressure index (ABI) increased from (0.36?0.14) preoperatively to (0.82?0.15) on the 7th postoperative day. All patients were follow-uped for 1 to 48 months. Stents were occluded in 4 patients. Restenosis was observed in 1 limbs. All of the rest remained patent in the follow-up period.Conclusion Endovascular angioplasty and stenting can be an effective method for the treatment of long segmental (including below-knee) arteriosclerotic occlusion of lower extremities.
