1.Observation of curative effect of repeated botulinium toxin type A treatment for Meige's syndrome in senile people

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of repeated botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) treatment for Meige's syndrome in senile people. Methods Forty-eight senile patients with Meige's syndrome received BTX-A treatment for twelve times or over. The improvements of spasm were evaluated before and after the first, the sixth and the twelfth treatment according to Cohen's criteria. The onset time, effective duration and side effects were studied and compared among the three times treatments. Results The obvious effective rate of the three times treatment were all 100%. The average onset time of the three times treatments were (3.5± 1.7)days,(3.2±1.8)days and (3.3±1.9)days, and the average effective duration were (25.4±2.1)weeks,(24.6±2.3)weeks and (25.4±1.8)weeks, respectively. The incidences of side effects were 8. 3% (4/48), 6.3(3/48)%and 8.3%(4/48), respectively. All the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05). Conclusions Repeated BTX-A treatment is an effective and safe method for Meige's syndrome in senile people.
2.THE EXPRESSION OF TrkA AND ChAT IN THE BASAL NUCLEUS OF MEYNERT IN RATS OF DIFFERENT AGE

The distribution of TrkA and the postnatal development(PD) of TrkA and ChAT-immunoreactive(-IR) neurons andthe relation between them in the basal nucleus of Meynert of rats were studied with immunohistochemical method. The number,mean profile areas and grey degree of TrkA-IR and ChAT-IR neurons were examined with image analyser. The data revealed thatTrkA-IR neurons were localized in the basal forebrain of rats. TrkA immunostaining was present at PDI, but ChAT was not.ChAT immunostaining was present at PD5. Most densely stained TrkA and ChAT neuronal bodies and fibers were present atPD20, the mean grey degrees of TrkA-IR and ChAT-IR neuronal profiles reached its peak. Both TrkA and ChAT neurons beganto cline at PD30 and maintained a relatively higher level in the adult. However, during aging both TrkA and ChAT-IR neuronsatrophy and became smaller than that in the adult. The number of TrkA-IR and ChAT-IR neurons were decreased by 41.38% and 51.61%; the mean profile areas decreased by 15.7% and 12.8%; and the mean grey degrees by 29.9% and 9.9%, respec-tively. The mean profile areas of TrkA-IR and ChAT-IR neurons from PD5 to aged rats were positively correlated. The resultsindicated that the expression of TrkA was earlier than ChAT. The expression of TrkA and ChAT followed a very similar tempo-ral pattern in the basal nucleus of Meynert from PD5 to aged rats, suggesting that TrkA might participate the regulation ofChAT-IR neuronal development, differentiation, maturation, and ageing. The down-regulation of TrkA and ChAT of aged ratsis associated with neuronal atrophy and loss and may contribute to the pronounced vulnerability of these neurons to degenerationin aging animals and Alzheimer's disease.
3.The establishment of genesiology nursing management pattern and the experience

ObjectiveTo investigate the pattern of nursing management in genesiology. Methods The concrete management methods were improving nurses′ skills, arranging personnel resources reasonably, emphasizing patients′ healthy education, strengthening the management of instruments and following patients on. Results The numbers of IVF and IUI cycles increased from 781 and 185 in 1998 to 1 180 and 503 in 2004 respectively. More than 90% of patients had mastered the knowledge about their ART procedures. The time of finding an old medical history decreased from 10 minutes to 2 minutes. And the follow-up rate increased from 42% to 95%. Conclusion In order to adapt to nowadays requirements of genesiolgy, we should establish a perfect nursing management system , using personnel resources reasonably and improve the nurses′ skills continually.
4.Analysis of the efficacy of repairing unilateral incomplete cleft lip with the straight line and the auxiliary incision of lip skin in 120 children

Objective To explore the effect of the straight line and the auxiliary incision of lip skin on repairing unilateral incomplete cleft lip.Methods 120 cases of unilateral incomplete cleft lip repaired with the straight line method and reconstruction of the orbicularis oris muscle with the auxiliary incision of lip skin.Results 2 cases of cleft relapse by tumble.The wound of 115 children were healed one stage.3 children were healed two stage.All children didn't present vermilion deficiency.The upper lip presented natural labial groove between affected and unaffected side.Both sides of nostrils were symmetry and scars were not ovbious.Conclusion This new method was simple and effective in repairing unilateral incomplete cleft lip.
5.THE EXPRESSION OF TrkA AND ChAT IN NEURONS OF THE HORIZONTAL LIMB OF DIAGONAL BAND OF DIFFERENTLY AGED RATS──AN IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL STUDY

Objective To investigate the postnatal developmental rule of TrkA and ChAT\|immunoreactive(ChAT\|ir) neurons and the relationship between TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons in the horizontal limb of diagonal band(HDB) of rats. Methods Immunohistochemistry technique combined with image analyser were used. Results TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons localized in the neurons of basal forebrain of rats. TrkA immunostaining was present at postnatal day 1(PD1), but ChAT immunostaining was present at PD5 Most densely stained TrkA and ChAT neuronal bodies and fibers were present at PD20, while the mean grey degrees of TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons reached to the peak. Both TrkA and ChAT began to decline at PD30 and maintain a relatively higher level in the adult. However, during aging both TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons atrophied and became smaller than that of adult. The number of TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons decreased 39 8% and 33 3%;the mean areas 15 7% and 12 8%; the mean grey degree values were 29 9% and 9 9%, respectively. The mean areas, grey degrees and numbers of TrkA and ChAT\|ir neurons from PD5 to aged rats had positive correlation. Conclusion The results indicate that the expression of TrkA was earlier than ChAT. The expression of TrkA and ChAT followed a very similar temporal pattern in HDB from PD5 to aged rats, suggesting that TrkA may participate in the regulation of ChAT\|ir neuronal development, differentiation, maturation and aging. The down\|regulation of TrkA and ChAT of aged rats is associated with neuronal atrophy and loss and may contribute to the pronounced vulnerability of these neurons to degeneration in aging animals and Alzheimer disease.\;
6.Clinical Observation on Treatment of 43 Cases of Diabetic Vesical Pathological Changes by Needle-warming Moxibustion

By the needle-warming moxibustion, 43 cases of diabetic vesical pathological changes,together with 43 cases in the control group, were treated for 30 days, to observe the times of urination,volume of urine and residual urine inside the bladder before and after treatment every day. It has been indicated in observation that needle-warming acupuncture therapy can decrease the time of urination every day, elevate the urine volume each time and decrease the residual urine in the bladder, with a significant difference (P>0.05) in comparison with before the treatment.

8.Change expressing of hTERT gene in breast cancer tissue before and after neo-adjuvant chemotherapy

Background and purpose:hTERT is indistinct in the effect of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy. Our aim was to detect both expression of hTERT mRNA and protein in breast cancer tissue and their changes after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Methods:From Feb 2004 to Jun 2007, 53 cases with untreated advanced breast cancer were enrolled. All patients received CEF chemotherapy three cycles. The breast cancer tissue was collected before and after chemotherapy. hTERT mRNA and protein expression were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry techniques. Results:The positive hTERT mRNA and protein expression in breast cancer tissue before chemotherapy were 77.4% and 73.6% respectively, and after neo-adjuvant chemotherapy were 28.3%,22.6% respectively.The effective rate of the neo-adjuvant chemotherapy of the patients with positive of hTERT expression was higher than those with negative hTERT expression. Conclusion:The chemo-agents altered hTERT gene expression, improved negative rate of hTERT expression. Detecting expression of hTERT gene in breast cancer tissue would be an important index for predicting the effects of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy.
9.The influence of chronic stress on the level of CNTF and CNTF mRNA in hippocampal neurons of rats

AIM To study the influence of chronic stress on the level of CNTF and CNTF mRNA in hippocampal neurons of rats. METHODS The chronic stress model was established by chronic unpredictable mild stress, openfield test was performed to detect the behavior of rats. Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization were used to observe the level of CNTF and CNTF mRNA. RESULTS Compared to control group, the CNTF like immunoreactivity and signals of CNTF mRNA in situ hybridization in the hippocampal neurons of chronic stress group were significantly decreased. CONCLUSION These results show that chronic stress can significantly decrease the level of CNTF and CNTF mRNA in the hippocampal neurons of rats.
