Objective To estimate the influence of abnormal glucose metabolism during pregnancy and family history of cardio-cerebrovascular disease and/or diabetes on umbilical C-peptide concentrations. Methods Chesed 85 pregnant women who had prenatal examination and their newborns as the subjects. Thirty-six newborns of mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus, impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes mellitus with pregnancy and 49 newborns of mothers with normal glucose tolerance were randomly chosed as the control group. All newborns were also classified according to whether their maternal grandparents had history of diabetes and/or cardio-cerebrovaacular disease. Therefore, there were four groups in this study: 25 newborns in group A were of diabetic mothers and positive family history, 11 newborns in group B were of diabetic mothers but negative family history, 9 newborns in group C were of mothers with normal glucose tolerance but positive family history, 40 newborns in group D were of mothers with normal glucose tolerance and negative family history. The blood samples of umbilical veins were collected at the time of delivery. Umbilical C-peptide levels of the four groups were measured by radioimmunonssay. Results The umbilical C-peptide concentrations of newborns in group A, B, C, D were (2.22±1.52), (1.44±0.63), (1.13± 0.34), (1.31±0.69) μg/L respectively, the umbilical C-peptide concentrations of newborns in group A were elevated compared to those of other three groups (F=5.11, P=0.003), and there were no significant differences in C-peptide levels of newborns between the three groups (group B vs C P=0.499, group B vs D P=0.694, group C vs D P=0.642). Conclusion Special attention should be given to newborns of diabetic mothers and whose maternal grandparents have history of diabetes and/or cardio-cerebrovascular disease.

273 chinese have been studied with high voltage electrophoresis and immumofixation to survey the polymorphism of the third component of human complement in Shaanxi Provice Two C_3 phenotypes were found in this population, they are C_3SS and C_3FS The frequencies of C_3SS and C_3FS are 98.53% and 1.47% respectively. The frequency of C_3S gene is 0.9926 and C_3F gene 0.0073. These results are similar to other studies in China and this group was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Compared with Negro and Caucasian, the chinese population in Shaanxi Province has a significant difference in C_3 polymorphism.

Objective The experiment aims at probing the best condition of the isolation and purification of rat islets.Methods The islets were isolated from rat pancreas by hepatopancreatic duct perfusing with collagenase and purified with Ficoll 400 discontinuous density gradient centrifugation.Then the purified islets were subjected to histological staining,electron microscopy and radioimmunoassay for identification of specificity and viability.Results The histological staining revealed that the viability and the purity of the purified islets were above 95％and 85％respectively.Electron microscopy showed that the purified islets were morphologically intact with clear membrane and plenty of secreting granules.Radioimmunoassay demonstrated the secreted insulin concerntration between low-glucose groups and high-glucose groups varied significantly,which verified the good function of the islets.Conclusion Hepatopancreatic duct perfusing with collagenase is a good method for digestion.There aye many factors that influence the quantity and quality of the acquired islets,such as the completed expansion of pancreas,the concentration and viability of collagenase and the digested time,etc.

Objective To investigate the psychological characteristics of the patients with functional dyspep-sia(FD). Methods The Zung serf-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and the Zung serf-rating depression scale(SDS) were employed to evaluate the anxiety mood and depression mood respectively of 110 FD patients ( group A) and 100 healthy volunteers (group B). The incidences of anxiety and depression in patients < 60 years and patients ≥60 years in group A were determined respectively. Results The anxiety ( 50.2±10.5 ) and depression scores ( 51.8±10.8)of group A were higher than group B [ (33.6±5.7) , ( 42.9±9.6) ] with a significant difference ( P<0.01 ). In group A, the anxiety incidence(66.0% ) in patients < 60 years was higher than patients ≥ 60 years (38.3%) ,while the de-pression incidence in patients ≥60 years(61.7% ) was higher than patients <60 years(42.0% ) ,both with signifi-cant differences ( all P<0.05 ). Conclusion FD patients show the psychological characteristics of anxiety and de-pression, and the characteristics type may vary in different age groups.

Objective To identify high?risk groups of Charcot foot( CN) in the people with diabetic foot neuropathic ulcerations( NU) . Methods Twenty cases patients with CN who were diagnosed in General Hospital of the Chinese People Air Force from June 2008 to June 2013 and 58 patients with diabetic neuropathic ulcer who were hospitalized from January 2010 to December 2011 and followed up until June 2014 without foot deform?ity were retrospectively analyzed. All patient's general condition, examination and laboratory results, diabetic chronic complications,complication,diabetes distribution of foot ulcers,and plain features. Objective To explore the effect of activities of daily living (ADL) training on hemiplegia after stroke. Methods 50 stroke patients with hemiplegia were divided into treatment group (n=27), who received ADL training and physical therapy, and control group (n= 23), who only received physical therapy. They were evaluated with modified Barthel index (MBI) and the Brunnstrom classification. Results After 6 months of treatment, the score of MBI improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in Brunnstrom stage (P>0.05). Conclusion ADL training can improve the recovery of ADL in hemiplegics after stroke.。

Objective To investigate the effects of thymosin ?1 on the proliferation of human umbilical veinssel endothelial cells(HUVECs) and synthesis of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Methods HUVECs(ECV-304) were cultured with the treatment of 100 ?l thymosin ?1 at 0,5 or 2.5 ?g/ml for 1 d in vitro.The proliferation of HUVECs were measured with MTT assay,cell cycle was tested with flow cytometry and the synthesis of VEGF was detected with Western blot analysis.Results Thymosinal promoted the proliferation of HUVECs,and the cells in S-phase was increased,and obviously promoted the synthesis of VEGF.Conclusion Thymosin ?1 promotes the proliferation of HUVECs and increases the synthesis of VEGF in HUVECs,and may have the effect of increasing the angiogenesis in the process of wound tissue.

Objective:To investigate the current status and related factors of psychological distress in tele-phone operators.Methods:Totally 575 telephone operators from sample of a convenient survey in a certain telecom-munication company of Shandong Province were selected.They were assessed with Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10),Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10),Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS)and Sim-plified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ)for the evaluation of psychological distress,resilience,perceived social support and the coping style respectively.Ordinal logistic regression was used to identify the related factors of psy-chological distress.Results:The mean score of K10 was (24.7 ±6.7),91.8% (528 /575)of telephone operators had psychological distress.Specifically,24.5%(141 /575)had mild psychological distress,45.4% (261 /575)had moderate psychological distress,21.9% (126 /575)had severe psychological distress.Ordinal logistic regression a-nalysis indicated that the ones with good economic conditions (OR =1.74,95%CI:1.15 -2.63),higher level of re-silience (OR =1.13,95%CI:1.10 -1.17)and other social support (OR =1.07,95%CI:1.02 -1.12)had milder psychological distress;while with negative coping style (OR =0.29,95%CI:0.20 -0.41)had more severe psycho-logical distress.Conclusion:It suggested that the prevalence rate of psychological distress among telephone opera-tors is high.Poor economic conditions,lower level of resilience and social support,and negative coping style might be the related factors of psychological distress.

Objective To compare sodium supplement and sodium restriction to the effect of the extinction and prognosis of liver cirrhosis ascites, and research the relationship between live cirrhosis ascites and plasma sodium.Methods 119 liver cirrhosis patients were randomly divided into 2 groups :60 cases of sodium supplement and 59 cases of sodium restriction. 60 cases of sodium supplement was kept low-salt diet and intravenous sodium chloride supplement(3 ～5 g/d) ,59 cases of sodium restriction was only kept low-salt diet. Plasma sodium,plasma chloride,urine sodium, urine sodium chloride were detected before treatment, and 6 days, 10 days after treatment respectively. And the urine quantity,extinction of ascites and prognosis were compared. Results There were significant differences on the increase of plasma sodium,plasma chloride,urine sodium,urine chloride and urine quantity after treatment in two groups. Extinction time of ascites was shorter in group of sodium supplement. The morbidity and fatality rate of hepatic encephalopathy, and hepatorenal syndrome in the group of sodium supplement were lower than that in the group of sodium restriction. Conclusion Sodium supplement should be adapted when using diuretic agent to help the extinction of ascites, and to improve recovery.
