ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical effects of oral administration of itopride prior to capsule endoscopy on bowel preparation.MethodsA total of 40 patients who underwent capsule endoseopy from April,2010 to April,2011 were randomly assigned to the medication group and the control group (n =20 per group).The medication group took itopride on the day before capsule endoscopy.The two groups underwent the same procedure for bowel preparation.Clearance,gastric transit and intestinal transit of capsule endoscope,lesion detection rates were compared between the two groups.Results Bowel preparation of high quality in the medication group was 80％ (16/20),significantly higher than that (45％,9/20) in the control group (P ＜ 0.05 ).The mean gastric and intestinal transit times in the medication group were 31 min and 251 min,respectively,significantly shorter than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).While lesion detection rate in the medication group (60％,12/20) was significantly higher than that of the control (40％,8/20) (P ＜ 0.05).ConclusionOral itopride is of better clinical value for capsule endoscopy preparation.

Objective To study the effects of supplying iodine on thyroid autoimmunity in iodine deficiency subjects. Methods The levels and abnormal rates of immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgM), complement C 3, and thyroid autoantibodies such as thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb), thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb), thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAb) and thyroid stimulating antibody(TSAb) were observed in inhabitants in iodine deficiency area before and after oral iodized oil capsules were administered. Results The levels of IgA, IgG and C 3 increased after iodine supplying for three months, the proportions of IgG and C 3 which exceeded upper limit of the normal range reached to 38..9% and 62.0% respectively. The levels of IgA and IgG began to decrease markedly six months after iodine supplying. The levels of TPOAb, TGAb and their positive rates after iodine supplying were all higher than those before administration, and reached the highest level between three to six months after iodine supplement. And 7 cases out of 79 or 64 subjects with 2 kinds of positive autoantibodies were observed 3 or 6 months after iodine supplying respectively. The cases were all adult women with the average age of 27.6 yr, and had no clinical symptoms. The levels of TRAb and TSAb after iodine supplying were much higher than that before iodine supplying. The rate of positive TRAb was increasedmarkedlyandreachedto24.4% twelve months later. Conclusion Iodine supplying for the subjects with iodine deficiency seems to induce immune reaction, increase the levels of autoantibodies, and might develop autoimmune thyroid diseases.

AIM: The synergistic effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) on rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMC) proliferation was observed. The possible mechanism of the synergism was also investigated. METHODS: BrdU incorporation and cell counting method were adopted to value the pro-proliferative effect of VSMC. Western-blotting was used to observe the variation of bFGF and FGFR-1 isoforms expression. RESULTS: bFGF and ET-1 could promote VSMC proliferation separately, and synergistically in combination. The synergism was dose- and time-dependent. ET-1 increased all the three bFGF isoforms and FGFR-1 protein level in dose- and time-dependent manner. In addition, after exhaustion of intracellular PKC, the upregulation effects of ET-1 on bFGF and FGFR-1 expressions in VSMC both inclined. CONCLUSION: bFGF and ET-1 had synergistic effect on VSMC proliferation. ET-1 may increase the responsiveness of VSMC to bFGF through modulation of bFGF isoforms together with FGFR-1, which was PKC-dependent.

AIM: The role of protein kinase C(PKC) in the effect of Interleukin-6(IL-6) on basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) expression was investigated in rat vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMC). METHODS: Western-blotting was adopted to observe the variation of bFGF and its receptor type I isoforms expression. RESULTS: IL-6 increased all the three basic fibroblast growth factor isoforms in a dose-dependent (0-10.0 ?g/L) manner. The upregulatory activities peaked at 24 h as demonstrated . Objective To study features and causes of biliary duct re-operations and evaluate their therapeutic efficacy for avoiding its occurrence and decreasing its number.Methods 32cases of the clinical data of all de patients receiving bile duct re-operations in our hospital from 1996 were retrospectively analyed.Results 32 cases have no surgical operation complications,with 23 cases visit 5 years and only 2 cases are poor.Conclusions The main cause for re-operations is bile ston.The purpose of re-operations is to clean up stones,correct strictures and build pathway for bile flow.

Objective To evaluate the security and the reliability of ligating the cystic duct and the cystic ar- tery with common silk suture as the substitute for titanic or biological clamps in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) us- ing the suture and knot instrument developed by the authors. Methods One hundred and two laparoscopic chole- cystectomies were performed by the authors using the instrument. Results All patients were discharged in the post- operative fourth or fifth day without any complication. Conclusion The instrument used for LC was safe and reliable.

Objective To explore the change and its clinical significance of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and S-100? in serum and hippocampus tissue in rats with epilepsy induced by Kainic acid (KA).Methods 180 Wistar rats were randomly classified into control, KA and carbamazepine (CBZ) group, and the later two groups were further divided into 6 sub-groups (1 h, 4 h, 12 h, 24 h, 48 h and 72 h ) according to epileptic attack at different time point. The NSE and S-100? concentrations in serum and homogenate of hippocampus were determined by radioimmunity assay (RIA) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively.Results The concentrations of NSE and S-100? were dynamic change during 72 h after epileptic attack in serum and hippocampus homogenate, and the changes were synchronous. Objective To explore relativity between serum cortisol and post-stroke depression in old patients with stroke. Methods Serum cortisols of 41 stroke patients were examined two weeks after stroke, and they were all assessed through Hamilton Depression Scale and then happening rates of post-stroke depression observed in both normal cortisol group and enhanced cortisol group were tested through χ2 test. Meanwhile relativity between serum cortisol level and post-stroke depression were analysised. Results Happening rates of post-stroke depression had an evidently difference between both normal cortisol group and enhanced cortisol group(χ2=4.11;P <0.05). Mark of normal cortisol group was 15.29±7.28, enhanced cortisol group was 25.85±10.81, both groups had an evidently difference( P <0.01). Serum cortisols were not obviously relative to depression degree in normal cortisol group( r =0.295;P =0.194) while they were obviously relative in enhanced cortisol group( r =0.702;P =0.001). Conclusion Enhanced cortisol could forecast higher possibility of depression after the old post-stroke, and detecting cortisol could offer theory foundation for prevention and cure of post-stroke depression.
