Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2017;24(15):2313-2316
Objective To investigate the clinical value of continuous cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) drainage in severe intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH) and subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH) of newborns. Methods According to the digital table,136 newborns with severe IVH and SAH were divided into two groups,68 patients in each group. The control group was treated with lumbar puncture, while the observation group was treated with coronal suture puncture and CSF drainage. The efficacy of the two groups was analyzed and compared. Results The recovery time for CSF pressure and CSF cytology examination, disability rate of the observation group were (7.0±1.4)d,(8.1±3.5)d,38.32%,respectively,which were higher than those of the control group[(9.0±1.8)d,(10.5±3.6)d,55.88%](t=9.17,10.29,χ2=21.99,all P<0.01).There was significant difference in efficacy evaluation between the observation group and the control group(91.18% vs.73.53%,χ2=8.39,P<0.05).Conclusion The continuous CSF drainage treatment in severe IVH and SAH of newborns can significantly shorten the recovery time of patients′ CSF pressure and CSF cell numbers, stimulate nervous system recovery and reduce complication and disability rate.
2.Effects of serum containing Yiqi Xiaoji Recipe on cell line NKN-28 of gastric cancer
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2007;5(4):442-4
OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of serum containing Yiqi Xiaoji Recipe (YQXJR), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine for benefiting qi and removing stagnation, on cell line NKN-28 of gastric cancer. METHODS: The experimental SD rats were taken as the provider of the animal serum, and the serum was inactivated before the experiment. The serum was divided into high-dose, medium-dose, low-dose and blank serum groups based on whether the rats were given YQXJR and administration dosage. The inhibition rate was regarded as the observational index. RESULTS: The four groups of serum all had inhibitory effect on the growth of NKN-28 cells depending on the drug concentration. And there were significant differences among the experimental groups. High-dose, medium-dose and low-dose concentrations of serum all could inhibit the growth of NKN-28 cells with positive relations with the concentration and function time. CONCLUSION: YQXJR serum can inhibit the growth of NKN-28 cells depending on the drug concentration and function time.

Due to the good tumor-targeting and excellent biocompatibility, the drug-loading nanoparticles (NPs) has been widely applied in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. However, after the NPs are recognized and internalized by cancer cells, the effects of NPs on cell migration behavior were unclear. In the present study, the self-assembly techniques (SAMs) was used to modify gold (Au) nanoparticles (Au NPs) with different chemical functional groups (CH3, OH, COOH and NH2) as model NPs. The dispersion of these groups in solution and the distribution in cells were studied by transmission electron microscope (TEM), respectively, and the proliferation was examined by MTT assay in vitro. The wound-healing and the Transwell assay were used to examine the effect of internalized Au-NPs on HepG2 cells migration. The results showed that different Au-NPs mainly distributed at the edge of the vesicle membrane and the gap between cells. The Au-NPs resulted in decreased cell viability in a concentration-depended manner. In addition, the results of wound-healing and Transwells assay indicated that the internalization of the NH2-NPs and OH-NPs would inhibit cell migration compared with those in the control group.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(2):336-340
Low shear stress is a component of the tumor microenvironment in vivo and plays a key role in regulating cancer cell migration and invasion. The integrin, as a mechano-sensors mediating and integrating mechanical and chemical signals, induce the adhesion between cells and extracellular matrix (ECM). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of low shear stress (1.4 dyn/cm2)on the migration of HepG2 cells and the expression of integrin. Scratch wound migration assay was performed to examine the effect of low shear stress on the migration of HepG2 cells at 0 h, 1 h, 2 h and 4 h, respectively. F-actin staining was used to detect the expression of F-actin in HepG2 cells treated with low shear stress at 2 h and 4 h. Western blot analysis was carried out to determine the effect of low shear stress on the expression of integrin at different durations. The results showed that the migrated distance of HepG2 cells and the expression of F-actin increased significantly compared with the controls. The integrin alpha subunits showed a different time-dependent expression, suggesting that various subunits of integrin exhibit different effects in low shear stress regulating cancer cells migration.

To study the potential molecular mechanism of tumor angiogenesis in its microenvironment, we investigated the effects of HepG2 conditioned medium on the proliferation of vascular endothelial cell and vascular angiogenesis in our laboratory. Human umbilical vein endothelial EA. hy926 cells were co-cultured with HepG2 conditioned medium in vitro. The proliferation and the tubulogenesis of EA. hy926 cells were detected by teramethylazo salt azole (MTT) and tube formation assay, respectively. The results showed that the survival rate of the EA. hy926 cells was significantly increased under the co-culture condition. HepG2 conditioned medium also enhanced the angiogenesis ability of EA. hy926 cells. In addition, the expressions of intracellular VEGF and extracellular VEGFR (Flk-1) were regulated upward in a time-dependent manner. In conclusion, the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells and Vascula angiogenesis were improved under the condition of indirect co-culture.

Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) targeted treatment has been a standard therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but it is not tolerated well by all patients. In China, some studies have reported that traditional Chinese medicinal herbs (TCMHs) may increase efficacy and reduce toxicity when combined with EGFR-TKI, but outside of China few studies of this kind have been attempted.

Objective To explore the fasting blood glucose (FBG) variation trends and the prevalence of impaired fasting blood glucose(IFG)among medical staff in Beijing, 2009-2015.Methods A prospective cohort study, using seven years of follow-up data, was conducted in a large-scale tertiary hospital in Beijing.A total of 1 284 medical staff aged 35 to 60 years were recruited. We divided them into 4 groups according to age and occupational categories, and the level of FBG was tested at the same time each year. Results The number of medical staff who completed all 7 annual FBG tests was 403. There was a stepwise increase in the levels of FBG (4.92 mmol/L, 5.26 mmol/L, and 5.60 mmol/L in the years 2009, 2012,and 2015,respectively;F=100.643,P<0.001).An increasing trend in the prevalence of IFG was also evident (3.7%, 7.7%, and 13.4% in the years 2009, 2012, and 2015, respectively; χ2=39.099, P<0.001). Compared with baseline levels(in 2009),the average levels of FBG and the prevalence of IFG in men and women, as well as in all occupational classes (doctors, nurses, technicians, and other medical employees), were significantly elevated by the year 2015 (all P<0.05). The levels of FBG in male medical staff were higher than that in female medical staff,in both 2009 and 2015(both P<0.001).Conclusion The trend of increasing FBG levels and IFG cases in medical staff, especially in men,has been a problem for hospitals. Health policy action is urgently needed to deflate the IFG bubbles.

Objective:
To understand parent-child cohesion and problematic mobile phone use among middle school students in Shenzhen, and to provide a refevence for conducting the relevant control and prevention work .
Methods:
A total of 3 992 students from 5 junior high schools and 5 senior high schools in Shenzhen were selected by using stratified cluster sampling method. Problematic mobile phone use and parent-child cohesion were investigated, and their association was analyzed.
Results:
The average score of father-child cohesion and mother-child cohesion was (34.34±9.67) and (38.14±8.35), respectively. Mother-child cohesion score was higher than father-child cohesion score in both junior and senior middle school students(t=12.07, 14.41, P<0.01). Father-child cohesion (r=-0.20, P<0.01) and mother-child cohesion (r=-0.17, P<0.01) was negatively correlated with problematic mobile phone use. The lower the score of parent-child cohesion, the higher the score of problematic mobile phone use.
Conclusion
Family plays an important role in the prevention and control of problematic mobile phone use among middle school students. Improving parent-child cohesion and building a good parent-child relationship may help prevent problematic mobile phone use.
