Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2009;15(3):255-256
Objective To study the effect of early rehabilitation on dysphagia in the patients with acute stroke. Methods 126 patients with acute stroke were divided into 2 groups: rehabilitation group (n=63) and control group (n=63). The rehabilitation group was trained with the swallowing function immediately after inhospital. They were evaluated with the drinking water test before and a month after treatment. Results The swallowing function improved in the rehabilitation group (P<0.01), and the incidence of aspiration pneumonitis decreased (P<0.01) compared with those in the control group. Conclusion Early rehabilitation of dysphagia in the patients of acute stroke can improve the function of swallowing, and reduce the incidence of aspiration pneumonitis.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2008;41(11):738-741
Objective To detect P0.1 and respiratory function of patients with cerebral infarction(CI)and analyze the effect of cerebral infarction on respiratory function. Methods Arterial blood gases, respiratory drive and lung function were measured in 35 cases with CI and 15 healthy controls. The figures were analyzed by SPSS 10.0. Results The PaO0.2 (mm Hg, 75.80±4.12, 1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa), SaO2(%,94.97±0.78) and Plmax(kPa,4.076±2.443) were lower than those in the healthy control group (88.68±3.77, 96.40±0.48 and 7.747±0.599,t=-8.310,-5.731,-5.439,all P=0.000). P0.1 max and P0.1/MV in the CI group were lower than those in the healthy control group;the P0.1 did not have significant difference in these two group; the P0.1/P0.1max and P0.1/Plmax in the CI group were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group; the PImax was correlated with PO2, O2sat, P(A-a) O2, P0.1max, P0.1, P0.1,/PImax, P0.1/P0.1max, FVC, FEV1.0 and PEF; the PEmax was correlated with P0.1/ PImax, FVC, FEV1.0 and PEF. Conclusion The respiratory function of patients with CI has been impaired, the oxygenated index is cut down and the respiratory drive and respiratory drive store are decreased.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(9):810-812
Objective To explore the effect of intensive pedaling training on lower limbs recovery from hemiplegia. Methods 60 hemiplegics after stroke were divided into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=30). Both groups accepted routine rehabilitation, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, acupuncture and electrical stimulation, while the treatment group accepted intensive pedaling training in addition. They were evaluated with Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Fugl-Meyer Assessment of lower limb (FMA-L), modified Barthel index (MBI), Functional Ambulation Category (FAC), modified Ashworth scale (MAS) before and after 8 weeks of treatment. Results The scores of BBS, FMA-L, MBI, FAC, and MAS improved in both groups after treatment (P<0.01), and improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Intensive pedaling training can further improve the lower limbs function of stroke patients with hemiplegia

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2001;5(5):41-42
ObjectiveTo detect the effects of early medical intervention on prognosis of newborn Hypoxic - ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) . Methods62 severe to moderate HIE newborns were randomly divided into intervention group(34 cases) and control group(28 cases ). The intervention group accepted trentment when they are newborn. Sexes, mothers' educational backgrond, enviroment and family incomewere similar for 2 groups. At the age of 6, 12, and 18 months, the assessment and mental development were conducted in two groups. ResultsThe development quotient(DQ) of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group( t = 2.3166, 2. 7298, 2. 8377, P < 0. 05, <0. 01, < 0. 01 ). The intervention group had higher rate of recovery and lower rate of unfavourble prognosis(x2 = 4. 1 031, P < 0.05). ConclusionEarly continue intervention could promote the mental motor development, improve the prognosis, reduce the rate of the sequela and improvequality of life.

Objective To investigate the effect of inhaled pravastatin on the acute inflammation of lung in smoked rats. Methods 32 male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups(n=8 per group),as the controls,cigarette-smoking exposure group, saline or pravastatin treatment groups. The rats in the control group were treated routinely, the other groups were exposed to cigarette smoking for one week.Rats in saline or pravastatin group were treated with saline or pravastatin inhalation respectively.During smoking exposure period rats were weighted before and after the treatment, executed at day eight, blood, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),and lung tissue were collected. The morphological alternations of lung tissue were observed.Total cell numbers in BALF were counted.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to detect the levels of serum IL-10 and IL-17 content. Results The increase of body weight of smoke-exposed rats were less than that of the controls. In smoking-exposed rats, acute inflammatory changes were remarkable in the lung. The total cell numbers in BALF and levels of IL-10 were increased significantly(P<0.05).These changes were mitigated in pravastatin treated rats and an IL-10/IL-17 rebalance was observed. Conclusion Inhalation of pravastatin sodium has a certain inhibitory effect on cigarette smoke-induced acute lung inflammation in rats.
