Objective:To explore the relationship between friendship quality and loneliness and its influent factors like the measuring tool of friendship quality, the participants groups and cultural background. Methods:The studies on the association between the friendship quality and loneliness were collected through the databases of Chi-na National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wan Fang,Wiley Online library,Web of Science,Google Scholar and Duxiu from 1984 to 2014. Meta-analysis was conducted with the use of the CMA2. 0. Estimated value (r)and their 95%confidence interval (95%CI)was calculated to analyze the association between the friendship quality and loneliness from normal subjects except physiological disease (such as autism, etc. ). Results:Totally 46 literatures were met the requirements of meta-analysis with sample size of 19422,including 24 researches With 11846 participants who were from eastern countries, and 22 studies with 7676 western people. There was significant negative correlation of friendship quality and loneliness (r=-0. 28,95%CI:-0. 23--0. 32). The friendship quality measuring tool was able to adjust the relations of friendship quality and loneliness (Q=11. 95,P<0. 01). The participants groups had a regulatory role on the relationship between the friendship quality and loneliness (Q=19. 54,P<0. 001). Under dif-ferent cultural background of the subjects, the relationship between their friendship quality and loneliness was notsignificant difference (Q=0. 05 ,P>0. 05 ). Conclusion:It suggests that friendship quality has an influence on lone-liness. Measuring tools and subjects groups effect the relationship friendship quality and loneliness except cultural background.

Objective: To compare the quality of life before and after artificial mechanical heart valve replacement. Methods: From February to June 1998, 115 patients (56 males, 59 females) underwent mechanical valve replacement. The investigation table was filled in one week before the operation and three months postoperatively. Results: There was a notable improvement in patient's physical strength, activity ability, emotion aspect and society home life after operation (P=0.000). In patients with valve-related complications, 64% complained inconvenience in purchasing anticoagulant medicines in the locality, while in patients without valve-related complications, only 39% have such experience. There was significant difference between two groups (P=0.034). 86% of patients with complications worry about the possibility bleeding, while in those with no complications only 55% (P=0.006). Conclusion: Mechanical prosthetic valve replacement significantly improves patient's physical strength, activity ability, emotion and society-home life.

Objective To evaluate the cooperative effect of intraperitoneal adenoviral p53 gene therapy together with thymosin ?1 against peritoneal carcinomatosis. Methods KM mouse model bearing peritoneal carcinomatosis was established using H22 cell line. 48 hours after inoculation, adenoviral-mediated p53 gene was administrated intraperitoneally alone, or combined with thymosin ?1 within 7 days. The abdominal girth, body weight, tumor cell number, apoptosis and cell cycle were tested using methods of cell counting and flow cytometry. Results Adenoviral p53 gene transfer alone arrested H22 cell in G0/G1. In combination therapy group, ascitic fluid was obviously halted, tumor cells in peritoneal cavity decreased in number and ascites formation, dead cell ratio was elevated. Conclusion Adenoviral-mediated p53 gene could block cell proliferation. Intraperitoneal adenoviral p53 gene therapy combined with thymosin ?1 showed synergism for the lethal damage and inhibition for peritoneal carcinomatosis.

Objective To evaluate the safety of performing thyroidectomy together with central lymph node dissection(CLND). Methods Meta analysis was performed on 7 selected clinical papers using MantelHaenszel method and relative risk was calculated. Results A total of 1524 patients were eligible to be included, among whom 904 cases underwent thyroidectomy alone and 620 cases underwent total thyroidectomy combined with CLND. The risk rate of temporary hypocalcemia and temporary vocal cord palsy for CLND was 24. 77% and 9. 12% respectively, which was higher than that in performing thyroidectomy alone. However, the risk of permanent hypocalcemia and permanent vocal cord palsy had no statistic difference between the two groups. Conclusion As there is no increased morbidity of CLND, it is prudently suggested to give a prophylactic CLND for patients with high risk of thyroid papillary carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the safety of central lymph node dissection with total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods A meta-analysis on the data of suitable seven clinical researches was performed using the Mantel-Haenszel method and the risk difference was calculated. Results Seven studies with a total of 1524 patients were eligible for inclusion, 620 were with totalthyroidectomy plus central lymph node dissection and 904 with thyroidectomy alone. There was a significant increased risk of temporary hypocalcaemia ( P = 0. 03 ) and temporary vocal cord palsy ( P = 0. 01 ) when central lymph node dissection was performed in addition to a thyroidectomy. However, the risk of permanent hypocalcaemia( P = 0. 32 ) and permanent vocal cord palsy (P = 0. 75 ) has no statistical difference between the two groups. Conclusion Central neck dissection added to thyroidectomy does not increase rate of permanent morbidity in thyroid cancer patients.
