AIM To study the therapeutic effect of bone marrow transplantation on mustard gas-poisoned mice. METHODS Mustard-poisoned mice model was constructed by injected mustard gas 20 mg·kg~(-1) subcutaneously. At 4 h, 1 d and 2 d after poisoned by mustard gas, the suspended bone marrow cells (106 cells per time) were injected into mice respectively. After poisoned 3, 5, 7 and 10 d, the numbers of leukocyte and marrow nucleated cells were recorded periodically. At the same time, after poisoned 4 h and 1 d by mustard gas, mice in another group were injected granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) 74 μg·kg~(-1) combined with transplantation and changes of the cell number were observed. RESULTS Compared with poisoned group without transplantion, leukocyte number in bone marrow transplanted group presented ascending trend, but there was no statistical significance until the 10 d after poisoned. However, the number of marrow nucleated cell increased significantly from the 5th day. After mice injected bone marrow cells combined with G-CSF, leukocyte increased markedly in earlier stage compared with transplantation only. CONCLUTION The bone marrow transplantation has significant effects on improvement of marrow hematogenic system inhibited by mustard gas.

This study was aimed to establish an HPLC method for the determination of chlorogenic acid, rutin and kaempferide in Solidago decurrens Lour. A Diamonsil C18 column (4.6 mm í 200 mm, 5 μm) was adopted with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.2% phosphoric acid. The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1. The column temperature was at 25℃. The wavelength of detection was set at 282 nm. The results showed that the calibration curve was linear over the range of 63.2~442.4 μg for chlorogenic acid (r = 0.999 3), 8.1~56.8 μg for rutin (r = 0.999 4) and 10.8~75.7μg for kaempferide (r = 0.999 8). The average recovery of chlorogenic acid was 98.6% (RSD = 1.4%), that of rutin was 99.2% (RSD = 0.8%) and that of kaempferide was 100.3% (RSD = 1.0%). It was concluded that the method was simple, economical and accurate with good reproducibility.

Objective To explore the mechanism underlying the superiority of the biphasic waveform to monophasic waveform in defibrillation.Method The Luo-Rudy model was adjusted so that it could be used to study defibrillation.Based on the adjusted model the effects of different defibrillation waveforms on cell action potential duration(APD) were studied.Result Biphasic electrical field pulse extended the APD longer than that with monophasic one. Moreover, biphasic waveforms with different strengths could prolong the APD almost equally, while monophasic pulses with different strengths showed different ability to prolong the APD and the spatial distribution of the APD became dispersed. It was also found that the strength of electrical fields pulse contributed much to the change of APD while the duration showed little effect. Conclusion The clinical superiority of biphasic pulses to monophasic pulses in defibrillation is resulted from its ability to prolong the time course of the APD and more importantly,it causes even spatial distribution of the APD.

Chinese Journal of Health Management 2021;15(2):173-181
Objective:To the effects of testosterone replacement therapy on muscle strength and function among the elderly (≥65 years old). Methods:We searched English and Chinese databases of PubMed, SinoMed, etc, upto July 4, 2020. All retrieved literatures were reviewed according to inclusion and exclusion criteria in accordance with PICOS principles. The Cochrane risk bias assessment tool was used for quality evaluation. Two researchers extracted data and evaluated literature quality independently. The outcomes included muscle strength (assessed by handgrip strength, leg extension strength, etc) and function (assessed by walking speed according to 6-minute walking test, 6MWT). Review Manager 5.3 software was used for statistical analysis. The fixed or random effects model was used to merge data of upper-and lower-extremity strength or 6MWT to produce forest plot and funnel plot. The subgroup analyses were conducted based on the characteristics of included studies. The sensitivity analyses were conducted for excluding literatures with small sample size, etc. Results:A total of 15 relatively high quality researches (14 English literatures and 1 Chinese literature) were included. The results of this meta analyses showed TRT could improve upper-extremity (0.21[0.11, 0.32]) and lower-extremity (0.34[0.12, 0.55]) muscle strength while not physical function (17.62[-13.06, 48.31]) among the elderly men. Subgroup analyses showed that region, source of participants, administration route and intervention period, while not the baseline testosterone level had effect on the pooled effect size. Funnel plot suggested a certain degree of publication bias. Sensitivity analyses revealed that the meta analyses were robust. Conclusion:TRT can improve muscle strength while not physical function among elderly men.

Objective To systemically review the effect of ulinastatin on lung function in pediatric patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass. Methods PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Controlled Trials Reg-istry,China National Knowledge infrastructure,China Biology Medicine disc,VIP and Wanfang databases were searched from their inception to October 2015.Articles regarding the use of ulinastatin on lung function in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass were searched.Studies were screened by two independent re-viewers and then the data were extracted. The methodological quality was evaluated according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Meta-analysis was then performed using RevMan 5.1 software. Results Nineteen eligible studies (n = 657 patients)were identified. The results of meta analysis showed that ulinastatin could improve the oxygen partial pressure(SMD=0.90,95%CI 0.52-1.28,P <0.01)and oxygenation index (SMD=1.01,95%CI 0.45-1.56,P <0.01),decrease the PA-a O2 (SMD= -0.87, 95%CI -1.70--0.03,P =0.04),reduce the respiratory index (SMD=-0.81,95%CI -1.51--0.11, P =0.02),Lower the airway peak pressure (SMD=-0.83,95%CI -1.18--0.48,P <0.01),improve the dynamic compliance (Cd)(SMD=1.10,95%CI 0.57-1.62,P <0.01),and shorten the breathing ma-chine ventilation time (SMD=-0.98,95%CI -1.59--0.36,P <0.01).Conclusion This meta-analysis showed that ulinastatin treatment had a certain degree of protective effects on lung function in pediatric pa-tients undergoing cardiac surgery with CPB,but further research was needed for all these studies which were not multicenter, strictly controlled.
8.Analysis of the needs of students, parents and teachers for comprehensive sexuality education content
Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(12):1803-1807
Objective:
To understand the needs of primary and secondary school students, parents and teachers for comprehensive sexuality education content, and to explore the applicability of comprehensive sexuality education content in China.
Methods:
By using the method of stratified cluster sampling, 5 571 primary and middle school students and 4 835 parents from Beijing, Chongqing, Heilongjiang (Harbin and Jiamusi) and Hubei (Wuhan and Xiaogan) were selected for questionnaire survey. Depending on the physical health monitoring points of various provinces and cities, 176 sexuality education related teachers in nine regions were surveyed. The development of the questionnaire was based on the content framework of comprehensive sexuality education proposed in the International Technical Guidelines for Sexuality Education.
Results:
Students had a higher demand for knowledge on the concepts of "relationship" (53.4% for primary school students, 57.6% for junior high school students) and "health and well-being skills" (71.1% for primary school students, 55.9% for junior high school students). Parents had higher demand for most comprehensive sexuality education content with the exception of lower need for "sex and sexual behavior (74.7% of primary school parents, 80.8% of junior high school parents)" and "sexual and reproductive health (primary parents 74.3%, junior high school parents 75.8%)". Teachers had a high demand for most comprehensive sexuality education content, but primary school teachers had a lower need for "values, rights, culture and sex(65.9%)", "sex and sexuality(60.1%)" and "sexual and reproductive health(66.8%)". The results of correspondence analysis showed that junior middle school teachers had the highest demand for comprehensive education content, followed by primary school parents, junior middle school parents, primary school teachers, junior middle school students and primary school students.
Conclusion
Teachers and parents have a higher demand for most comprehensive sexuality education content, while lower demand for some relatively sensitive content. Students have a relatively low demand for comprehensive sexuality education content. It is recommended to further improve the content of school sexuality education based on the actual needs of China.
9.Sexual knowledge, attitude and associated factors among primary and middle school students
Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(4):515-518
Objective:
To understand the awareness of sexual knowledge among primary and secondary school students, as well as their attitudes towards school sex education and to provide a reference for school-based sex education.
Methods:
A total of 5 531 primary and secondary school students were selected from Beijing, Chongqing, Heilongjiang (Harbin and Jiamusi) and Hubei (Wuhan and Xiaogan) by stratified cluster sampling and were investigated with self-reported questionnaire.
Results:
Sex-related knowledge scored 62.33±19.35, with a pass rate of 61.9%, and the excellent rate 17.5%. Sexual knowledge of junior high school students scored 64.30±19.07, with the pass rate of 64.7%, and the excellent rate 22.0%. A large proportion of primary students reported unaware of pubertal growth and HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, and a large proportion of junior high students unaware of reproductive physiology. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed region, grade, gender, and suburban areas were related to the level of sexual knowledge(P<0.05). More than 76.0% primary students and 85.9% middle school students agreed on the importance of school sexuality education. 59.7% of primary school students and 73.3% of junior high school students hoped to include school sexuality education in compulsory education courses; 59.8% of primary school students and 68.3% of junior high school students felt that school sexuality education should be equipped with specialized teachers.
Conclusion
Chinese primary and secondary school students are lack of sexual knowledge. As students have strong wills to get more information on sexual knowledge, schools should provide them with more comprehensive and effective sex education through appropriate courses and activities.

Objective:To explore the effect of the nutritional status on the clinical outcome and adverse effects of patients with concurrent radiochemotherapy for cervical cancer and analyze the cost-effectiveness of this treatment.Method:This study is a prospective, observational cohort study continuously enrolling patients with cervical cancer who received concurrent radiochemotherapy from 2018-05-01 to 2018-09-01 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. According to the criteria, patients were divided into two groups: nutritional disorders and normal nutrition groups. There were 81 and 94 cases of abnormal and normal nutrition, respectively. Blood tests, liver function tests, treatment costs for adverse effects, and nutritional support were employed. We observed the incidence of vomiting, diarrhea, bone marrow suppression, infection, and other responses in the two groups, followed by clinical outcomes and the cost-effectiveness analysis. Results:Compared with the normal nutrition group, the infection rate (27.2% vs 14.9%, χ 2=4.007, P=0.045), the incidence of bone marrow suppression (86.4% vs 69.1%, χ 2=7.36, P= 0.007), the cost of bone marrow suppression treatment [324.0 (164.2-648.0) vs 587.8 (243.6-1 728.0), z=2.698, P=0.007), and the treatment cost [71.4 (45.2-123.7) vs 85.1 (57.0-198.9), z=1.994, P=0.030) significantly increased in the nutritional disorder group. There were more patients with poor clinical outcomes in the nutritional disorder group than in the normal group (29.6% vs 8.5%, χ 2= 12.987, P<0.001). Only 7.2% of the patients had visited a nutrition clinic, and the rate of nutrition intervention was extremely low. Conclusion:In patients with cervical cancer undergoing concurrent radiochemotherapy, there is a higher incidence of adverse effects, such as infection and bone marrow suppression, as well as higher treatment costs and worse clinical outcomes.
