Background and purpose:Gastric cancer impacts human health seriously. Accurate preoperative assessment of T staging and metastatic lymph nodes of gastric cancer was beneifcial to patients’ treatment options and their prognosis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging for preoperative assessment of T staging and metastatic lymph nodes in patients with gastric cancer. Methods:This study selected 35 gastric cancer patients met the criteria for this prospective study. They all underwent gastric 3.0 T MRI+DWI imaging scan. These patients’ T stage and metastatic lymph nodes were evaluated before the surgery, with the reference of post-operative histopathological ifndings. Kappa consistency test was used to assess the consistency of T staging between the two methods. This study analyzed short axis diameter, long axis diameter and apparent diffusion coeffcient (ADC) values of lymph nodes, relative of muscle’s ADC (rADCm) values (rADCm=ADC values of lymph nodes/ADC values of right erector spinae), and relative of primary tumor’s ADC (rADCp) values (rADCp=ADC values of lymph nodes/ADC values of primary tumor) on MRI image. Independent samples test was used to assess the difference between metastatic lymph nodes and benign lymph nodes. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was generated to evaluate the accuracy of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for preoperative assessment of metastatic lymph nodes of gastric cancer. Results:The accuracy of diffusion-weighted MRI for T stages was 77.14%, 75% for T1, 100% for T2, 76.47% for T3 and 75.00% for T4 and respectively. There were statistically signiifcant differences in the long axis diameter, the short axis diameter, ADC value, rADCm and rADCp between metastatic lymph nodes and benign lymph nodes (P<0.05). The area under the ROC curve of rADCm was greater than thats of other criteria, so rADCm was the most signiifcant parameter. The best discriminative cut-off value of long axis, short axis, ADC value, rADCm value and rADCp value were 9.55 mm, 6.05 mm, 0.934×10-3mm2/s, 0.60 and 1.083, respectively. The sensitivity and speciifcity were 59.00% and 73.10%, 59.00% and 69.80%, 82.60% and 88.50%, 83.70% and 84.60%, 78.20% and 80.80%, respectively.Conclusion:Diffusion-weighted MRI has great signiifcance for preoperative assessment of T staging and metastatic lymph nodes of gastric cancer.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of visual analog scale international prostate symptom score (VAS-IPSS) in patients with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).Methods Three hundred and ninety patients with BPH were recruited to participate in this study and were randomly assigned to one of two groups:the standard IPSS group and the VAS-IPSS group. In each group,sub-groups were further divided to non-interpretation arm (A) and interpretation arm ( B),based on the availability of medical professionals to interpret patientsˊ VAS-IPSS score. In the same way,the similar sub-groups were established in VAS-IPSS group with non-interpretation arm (C) and interpretation arm (D).All the patients were required to fill out the same questionnaires at first consultation and second consultation with an interval of two weeks.Eventually, all the data were collected and analyzed. Results The ICC index was as follows for arms A through D:0.87 (95%CI0.72-0.94); 0.88 (95%CI0.74-0.95); 0.82 (95%CI0.59-0.92); 0.97(95% CI 0.93-0.99).The optimal prediction factor for arm A was frequency (F =14.70,P =0.010)and the sub-optimal was nocturia ( F =12.10,P =0.000) and urgency ( F =11.80,P =0.000).The optimal prediction factor for arm B was nocturia ( F =6.02,P =0.000 ) and the sub-optimal was urinary incontinence ( F =5.79,P =0.008 ).The optimal prediction factor for arm C was nocturia ( F =30.98,P =0.000) and the sub-optimal was urinary incontinence ( F =22.42,P =0.000).The optimal prediction factor for arm D was nocturia ( F =20.20,P =0.000) and the sub-optimal was urinary incontinence ( F =18.00,P =0.000) and weak urine steam (F =15.30,P =0.000).Conclusions VAS-IPSS is more stable than the standard IPSS.The questionnaire explanation to patients is helpful for improving the VASIPSS stability.

Tumor-targeted immunotherapy is a remarkable breakthrough, offering the inimitable advantage of specific tumoricidal effects with reduced immune-associated cytotoxicity. However, existing platforms suffer from low efficacy, inability to induce strong immunogenic cell death (ICD), and restrained capacity of transforming immune-deserted tumors into immune-cultivated ones. Here, an innovative platform, perfluorooctyl bromide (PFOB) nanoemulsions holding MnO2 nanoparticles (MBP), was developed to orchestrate cancer immunotherapy, serving as a theranostic nanoagent for MRI/CT dual-modality imaging and advanced ICD. By simultaneously depleting the GSH and eliciting the ICD effect via high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy, the MBP nanomedicine can regulate the tumor immune microenvironment by inducing maturation of dendritic cells (DCs) and facilitating the activation of CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. The synergistic GSH depletion and HIFU ablation also amplify the inhibition of tumor growth and lung metastasis. Together, these findings inaugurate a new strategy of tumor-targeted immunotherapy, realizing a novel therapeutics paradigm with great clinical significance.
