1.Instilling traditional medical ethics into traditional Chinese medicine education of medicine institutions
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(1):71-74
The ethics of Traditional Chinese Medicine are an important component of Chinese excellent traditional culture, which reflect the interests and expectations of working people.Because it justice but depreciating benefit',it has become the code of conduct for doctors to regulate, restrain, and spur themselves for thousands of years.Under the impacts of market economy, the traditional ethics is hard for young medical students to avoid money worship and other unhealthy thoughts. Therefore,it is essential to instill the merits of traditional medical ethits into the education of Traditional Chinese Medicine in western institutions.in older to lay a good foundation for the country to cultivate medical talents with excellent medical skills and gracious medical ethics. It Can be convinced that if the ethics of traditional Chinese medicine of long standing integrated with modem think well,it will recreate the enormous times value to the traditional ethics.
2.Discussion on concepts of ‘interaction between the heart and the kidney' and‘ non-interaction between the heart and the kidney' in the teaching material of traditional Chinese medicine
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2012;11(9):963-966
There are some problems in the definitions of 'interaction between the heart and the kidney' and 'non-interaction between the heart and the kidney' made in the teaching material of traditional Chinese medicine used by western medicine institutes, colleges and universities. In the teaching material,it explains 'interaction between the heart and the kidney' as the relation between heart fire and kidney water, and 'non-interaction between the beart and the kidney' as the relation between heart-yin and kidney-yin.If we cannot correctly understand the pathogenesis of 'non-interaction between the heart and the kidney',we will fail to determine the concrete treatment method for ' coordinating the heart and the kidney'.Through the analysis and discussion on the theory, clinical syndrome, therapeutic principles and prescriptions for the syndrome of disharmony between the heart and the kidney, the authors draw the conclusion that the therapy for this disease should be determined according to the excess and deficiency of the heat fire and kidney water. For instance,if the deficient kidney water cant ascend to coordinate with the heart and results in exuberance of heart fire,Huanglian Ejiao decoction should be used; in the other situation,if the exuberant heart-fire can't descend to coordinate with the kidney and results in deficiency of kidney yang,Jiaotai Pill should be used. The theoretical results could standardize textbook and give better service to the clinical education.
3.Oxidative stress in diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2015;31(11):1000-1003
Oxidative stress play a key role in the pathogenesis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Reactive oxidative species(ROS), derived from hyperglycemia through abnormal mitochondrial electron chain and NADPH oxidase et al, may damage lipids, DNA, and proteins by oxidation.ROS can also promote other classical mechanisms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and further cause apoptosis of neurons and Schwann cells, or inflammation of nerve tissue, and finally lead to nerve injury. The relationship between oxidative stress and mechanisms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy was reviewed in this article, in order to get a clue for more effective treatment strategies.
4.The progression on the research of haem oxygenase-1 and diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2015;(7):653-656
[Summary] The pathogenesis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN ) is the result of complex multiple concurrent pathogenic factors ,among which oxidative stress and inflammation play important roles. Multiple data have indicated that haem oxygenase‐1 (HO‐1) and its degradation products products possess the functions of anti‐oxidation ,anti‐inflammation ,anti‐apoptosis and pro‐angiogenesis ,which now becomes a new target for the treatment of DPN. We will briefly review the progression on the research of HO‐1 and DPN.

Objective To compare operative and non-operative treatments for intraarticular fractures of distal radius by meta-analysis. Methods The literature which had been published in English or Chinese from 1988 to 2008 on comparison between operative and non-operative treatments of intraartieular fractures of distal radius were searched for on line.Three Chinese papers and 2 English ones were eligibly included in this meta-analysis.The clinical data of the 5 papers were collected for comparing wrist function, reduction on X-rays,complications and patient's satisfaction. Results Operative treatment resulted in better reduction on X-rays,better wrist function and fewer complications but lower patient's satisfaetion than non-operative treatment. Conclusion The operative treatment should be recommended for intraarticular fractures of distal radius, but meanwhile the needs and expectations of the patient should be also addressed.

Aim Toexplorewhether1-methylhydan-toin(MH)could inhibit the basal secretion of growth hormone (GH ) and suppress the promoting effect of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH ) in rab-bits.Methods Thirty-sixrabbitswererandomlydi-vided into six experimental groups according to the kind of dosing drugs, namely normal saline group(A), MH group (B ),octreotide group (C ),GHRH group (D),GHRH +MH group(E),GHRH +octreotide group(F),with 6 rabbits in each group.Blood was sampled (1. 0 mL each time)from each rabbit before injecting drugs and 5,15,30,45,60 min after drug administration.Clotting spontaneously, rabbits blood samples were centrifugated for 20 minutes at approxi-mately 1000 ×g and the supernatant was collected. Serum GH concentrations were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kit(ELISA Kit).Mean-while,the behavior of rabbits in each group after injec-tingdrugswascloselyobserved.Results TheGH level of rabbits in group A at each time point had no significant differences(P>0. 05 ).Group B and group C rabbit GH levels were significantly lower than those of group A (P<0. 05 ),while GH levels in group D were obviously higher than those of group A (P <0. 05 ).Compared with group D,rabbit GH levels in group E and group F decreased markedly(P<0. 05 ). No obvious toxic and side effects had been observed within one week after the experimental rabbits were ad-ministered corresponding drugs by intravenous injec-tion.Conclusions 1-methylhydantoincouldinhibit the basal secretion of GH in rabbits.1-methylhydan-toin could suppress the promoting effect of GHRH in rabbits.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2013;(3):186-190
Objective To investigate the protective effect of butylphthalide for focal cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury and its possible mechanism. Methods A total of 60 healthy and clean adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham operation, saline control,low-dose butylphthalide and high-dose butylphthalide groups (n =15 in each group).A focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model was induced by the suture method. At the beginning of reperfusion,100 rng/kg and 400 mg/kg butylphthalide injection were injected intraperitoneally in the rats of the low-dose butylphthalide and high-dose butylphthalide groups; 0.5 ml/kg saline was injected intraperitoneally in rats of the sham operation and saline control groups. All the rats were sacrificed after 24 h of ischemia-reperfusion.Results The degree of neurological deficit in the low-dose butylphthalide (t =1.488,P =0.000) and high-dose butylphthalide (t =2.362,P =0.000) groups were significantly improved compared to the saline control group,in which the high-dose butylphthalide group was improved more significantly than the low-dose butylphthalide group (t =-0.873,P =0.000).The infarct volume in the low-dose butylphthalide (t =18.589,P =0.000) and high-dose butylphthalide (t =36.963,P =0.000) groups were reduced significantly compared to the saline control group,in which the infarct volume of the high-dose butylphthalide group was reduce more significantly than that of the low-dose butylphthalide group (t =-18.374,P =0.000).HE staining showed that neurons were sparse, there were a large number of degeneration and necrosis, cell space became larger, and the intercellular substances showed vacuolar changes. In the butylphthalide group, the neuronal degeneration and necrosis reduced significantly, the survival of nerve cells increased, and the improvement of the high-dose butylphthalide group was more remarkable.SOD activity of the low-dose and high-dose butylphthalide groups were increased significantly compared to the sham operation and saline control groups (all P <0.05),in which the SOD activity in the high-dose butylphthalide group was significantly higher than that in the low-mall dose butylphthalide group (t =80.199,P =0.000); The MDA levels in the low-dose and high-dose butylphthalide groups were decreased significantly compared to the sham operation and saline control groups (all P < 0.05),in which the MDA level in the high-dose butylphthalide group was significantly lower than that in the low-dose butylphthalide group (t =-1.308,P=0.000).Conclusions The protective effect of butylphthalide on ischemia-reperfusion injury may be associated with the increased antioxidant activity.
