Objective To explore the effect of the meteorologic factors on air pollution in the summer in Xian, China. Methods The data of SO2?NO2 and PM10 concentrations in the air and the related meteorologic factors [maximum temperature(tmax), minimum temperature(tmin), average air pressure(P) and relative humidity(H)) from April 1st to June 30th in 2005 were collected. The correlation between the air pollutant level and related meteorologic factors was analyzed by the elements time diagram and multiple regression models with SPSS 11.0 software. Results A significant correlations between the meteorological elements and air pollutants was seen, the regression models for air pollutants were as follows, lnSO2=-3.352+0.019 tmax-0.026 tmin, lnNO2=-3.448-0.003H+0.012 tmax-0.015 tmin and lnPM10=-2.197+0.011 tmax-0.021 tmin. Conclusion The meteorologic factors have some effects on the air pollution levels and then impact human health in some degree.

In order to better construct important diseases of traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM ) clinical re-search base , and strengthen the construction of medical and clinical research of TCM information sharing sys-tem, Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has constructed research type clinic. The con-struction idea of research type clinic is the mode of real world TCM clinical research . The construction of research type clinic mode was from three aspects, which were the clinical research, health management and distinctive diagnosis and treatment .

OBJECTIVETo investigate interleukin (IL)-17 expression induced by orthodontic force in periodontal ligament under different periodontal conditions.
METHODSSeventy-seven male SD rats were divided randomly into 5 groups: healthy movement group (HM), active periodontitis movement group (PM) recovery periodontitis movement group (RM), positive control group (PC) and normal control group (NC). Active periodontitis was set up by means of ligature + susceptible bacteria + suger water in PM, PC and RM groups. This stimulating factor was removed in RM group. NiTi spring was used to apply 0.49 N mesial force to move upper first molar of the rats in HM, PM and RM groups. HM, PM and RM group rats were sacrificed on day 3 (d3), day 7 (d7) and day 14 (d14). Expression changes of IL-17 in periodontal tissue in each group were measured using immunohistochemical stain and real time fluorescence quantitative PCR.
RESULTSIL-17 expression in periodontal ligament showed more positively in PM and RM groups compared with NC, PC and HM groups. No difference was found in the expression of IL-17 mRNA in NC (1.00 ± 0.00) (P > 0.05), except in HM d14 (1.00 ± 0.07) and RM d14 (1.19 ± 0.15). Higher expression of IL-17 mRNA (P < 0.05) was found in other groups. The expression of IL-17 mRNA in RM d3 and d7 increased more than that in HM group in the same period (P < 0.05) and it decreased significantly (P < 0.05) compared with that in PM groups in the same period.
CONCLUSIONSIL-17 was involved in the regulation of orthodontic tooth movement in different periodontal conditions. Orthodontic force caused limited increase of IL-17 mRNA expression in recovery phase of periodontitis at early stage, then back to normal. However, in active inflammatory periodontal tissue, orthodontic force kept IL-17 mRNA at high level.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of antibiotic -impregnated shunt catheters in hydrocephalus shunt. Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data from patients with hydrocephalus shunt surgery in our hospital during the period from May 2011 to August 2016. Based on the types of catheters, patients were divided into common conduit (not AISCs group) and antibiotics infiltrating pipe groups (AISCs group). All patients were followed up for 6 months after shunt surgery. The diversion and infection was recorded. Results The data of 193 patients with hydrocephalus shunt were analyzed, including 124 cases of non-AISCs group and 69 cases of AISCs group. Compared with non-AISCs group, the incidence of postoperative infection of AISCs was significantly decreased(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of shunt and reoperation between the two groups (P>0.05). In addition, there was no significant difference in the rupture, displacement and exposure of the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion ASICs can effectively reduce the incidence of hydrocephalus shunt infection.

Rotator cuff tears are one of the three most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders, with the supraspinatus tendon as the most common lesion site. It may lead to chronic shoulder pain, weakness and limited joint motion, and eventually to secondary degeneration of the shoulder. As traditional biomechanical experiments are limited by measurement techniques and ethical issues, it is almost impossible to clarify the stress distributions at the rotator cuff under physiological and pathological conditions. Recently, advances in computer science, software development and image processing have rapidly improved finite element models of shoulder joint which promote the researches into pathogenesis of rotator cuff tears and their surgical techniques, making finite element analysis an indispensable means in the biomechanic research of rotator cuff. This paper reviews the recent literature available in China and abroad to expound on the element models of shoulder joint applied in the researches into pathogenesis and surgery of rotator cuff tear.
