The relationship between antiproliferative effect of human IFN-γ-EGF3 fusion protein and the influence of EGF receptor binding activity has been studied on A431 cell line. Antiproliferative activity of human IFN-γ-EGF3 was higher than that of its parent IFN-γ. In the 125 I-EGF receptor competition experiment, the inhibition of EGF receptor binding capacity on the target cells was observed in the treatments of human IFN-γ or IFN-γ-EGF3, but the later was more significant. Our data suggests that the antiproliferative effects by IFN-γ and its fusion protein are closely related to their EGF receptor competitions.

Objective Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) are important indicators of cerebral small vessel disease .However, it is still unclear whether endothelial dysfunction is involved in CMBs .The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between CMBs and soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) in patients with acute ischemic stroke . Methods Based on the results of MRI (3.0 T) susceptibility weighted imaging , we divided patients with first acute ischemic stroke into a CMBs group ( n=63 ) and a non-CMBs group (n=63), and recruited another 45 volunteers with normal MRI findings as controls .We collected and conducted comparative a-nalysis on the demographic data , biochemical variables ( including the sE-selectin level ) , vascular risk factors , and the number of CMBs of the patients . Results Ordinal logistic regression analysis showed a significantly positive correlation between sE -selectin and the number of CMBs (OR=1.062, 95%CI:1.023-1.103, P=0.002), higher systolic blood pressure associated with more CMBs (OR=1.014, 95%CI:1.002-1.025, P=0.021). Conclusion Serum sE-selectin is significantly positively correlated with and can be used as a biological marker for the severity of CMBs .

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy and safety of slow anti-epileptic drug (AED) taper protocol and a rescue benzodiazepine protocol in video-electroencephalography (video-EEG) monitoring for presurgical evaluation of epilepsy.
METHODSSixty-two of 109 patients with refractory focal epilepsy underwent pre-surgical video-EEG monitoring with a slow AEDs taper protocol and a rescue benzodiazepine protocol. Seizures were recorded by video-EEG in 56 patients. The time to the first seizure, duration of monitoring, incidence of 4-h and 24-h seizure clustering, secondarily generalized tonic-clonic seizures (sGTCS), status epilepticus, falls and cardiac asystole were evaluated.
RESULTSA total of 191 seizures were recorded in the 56 cases, and the diagnostic efficiency of video-EEG was 90.3%. The mean time to the first seizure was 2.4 days and the time to conclude video-EEG monitoring averaged 6.8 days. Eight (12.9%) patients had 4-h clusters and 24 (38.7%) had 24-h clusters. Seizure clusters were more frequent in extra temporal epilepsy than in temporal lobe epilepsy. While 19 sGTCS were recorded in 15 patients (26.8%), status epilepticus did not occur and no seizure was complicated by cardiac asystole. Epileptic falls with no significant injuries occurred in 4 patients.
CONCLUSIONSeizure clustering is common during presurgical video-EEG monitoring, but serious adverse events are rare with a slow AED tapering and a rescue benzodiazepine protocols. These two protocols are effective and save in presurgical video-EEG monitoring for refractory focal epilepsy.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 2020;36(1):13-17
Objective:
To evaluate whether hemodialysis before percutaneous renal biopsy (PRB) reduces the risk of bleeding complications in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI).
Methods:
This study was a cohort observational study. Patients who were diagnosed as AKI and received PRB in Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University from January 2015 to December 2018 were included in the study. Patients were divided into preoperative dialysis group and preoperative non-dialysis group according to whether PRB patients received hemodialysis treatment. According to whether perirenal hematoma occurred after the operation, the patients were divided into the groups with and without the perirenal hematoma. The baseline clinical data of AKI stage, hemoglobin, coagulation function and renal pathological changes before PRB, and perirenal hemorrhage complications after operation, including the size of perirenal hematoma within 24 hours, gross hematuria, low back pain, decreased hemoglobin value and interventional treatment (such as interventional surgery, blood transfusion, etc) in the two groups were compared. The logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of perirenal hematoma after PRB.
Results:
Ninety patients with AKI were enrolled in this study, including 41 in the preoperative dialysis group and 49 in the preoperative non-dialysis group. The proportion of patients AKI with stage 2-3 in the preoperative dialysis group was significantly higher than that in preoperative non-dialysis group (100.0% vs 75.5%,
