Objective: To assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Swedish universities Scales of Personality(SSP).Methods: The Chinese version of SSP was administered to 204 undergraduate students of Shanghai.40 subjects were retested after 3 to 4 weeks.Results:The Cronbach's ? coefficients of all personality dimensions' subscales ranged from 0.63 to 0.82.The Cronbach's ? coefficients of the whole scale was 0.88.The test-retest coefficients ranged from 0.65 to 0.81(P

Two parental strains BY-14 and BY-6,with high leavening ability in lean and sweet dough respectively,were selected.Through spore production and separation,two haploids with opposition types were selected for cross-breeding.At last one hybridization strain was obtained,with good fermentation ability as BY-14 in lean dough and better than BY-6 by 25%in sweet dough.

Objective To study the relationship between personality and defense mechanism of obsessivecompulsive disorder (OCD) patients.Methods Thirty-four OCD patients were tested with Swedish University Scales of Personality(SSP) and defensive style questionnaire( DSQ), and the result was compared with that of thirty-one normal controls.Results The SSP scores of STA,PsTA,SS,E,TI and M of OCD patients were significantly higher than that of normal controls (t = 2.06 ～ 5.10, P ＜ 0.05 ).Comparing with normal controls, OCD patients tended to use immature and intermediate mechanism such as projection, passive aggression, unconscious emerge, phantasy, withdrawl and reaction formation, but less used mature mechanism such as sublimation, suppression and humor (t = -2.27 ～ 6.73, P＜ 0.05 ).All subscales of SSP in OCD patients, excluding SD and D, had positive correlation with total score of immature mechanism (r = 0.375 ～ 0.719, P ＜ 0.05 ).The OCD patients' SSP scores of STA had positive correlation with mature mechanism (r = 0.378, P ＜ 0.05 ).The OCD patients' STA, PsTA, I, AS, E, M,VTA and PhTA score of SSP had positive correlation with intermediate mechanism (r= 0.381 ～0.548, P＜ 0.05 ).All subscales of SSP in OCD patients, excluding SD, had positive correlation with total score of concealment (r =0.342 ～ 0.530, P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion OCD patients have the neurotic and aggressive features of personality;and the personalities of OCD patients have significant correlation with defense mechanism.

Objective To develop a new method, capillary electrophoresis(CE) based on molecular beacon(MB),for rapid detection of polymerase chain reaction(PCR).To explor the roles of the IL-13 gene exon4 A2044G single nucleiotide polymorphism(SNP) in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma.Methods The IL-13 exon 4 was amplified by PCR with genomic DNA used as templates from 20 healthy persons and 32 patients with dominantly allergic familial history living in the north of china.Then separating the amplification with capillary electrophoresis followed by hybridization of molecular beacons into the PCR product which were sequenced in the end. Results Detected with CE-MB method,there was significant difference in the distribution of A/G in IL-13exon 2044,A allele frequency was higher in asthma compared with normal controls,same as sequencing. Conclusion The method of capillary electrophoresis based on molecular beacon(MB-CE) is able to be developed as a clinical detecting method for genetic variation diseases.IL-13 A2044G SNP is important in the asthmatic mechanism.

Objective To investigate the regulation expression of leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF)in hu- man and animal osteoarthritic(OA)tissues and its clinical relevance.Methods 1)Thirty-five Japanese rabbits, aged eight months,were used to make models of experimental osteoarthritis.Operations were performed at the right knee and the sham ones at the left knee in each rabbit.Rabbits were sacrificed on the 3,7,14,28,42,56 and 84 days after operation respectively.Cartilage and synovium of the knee were collected to observe histological changes of osteoarthritis at different times;immunohistochemistry analysis was conducted to observe the LIF expression and distribution in the cartilage and synovium of the animals.2)From April 2003 to October 2003,32 samples of human articular tissues(cartilage,subchondral bone and synovium)were obtained in the operational procedures and a good quantity of RNA was isolated using Magnetic Beads.The patients who underwent articular operations donated the samples.In the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),the mRNA expression of LIF was mea- sured by semi-quantity analysis and the location of LIF protein was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results A slight expression of LIF was seen in normal cartilage but less in synovium.However,the expression of LIF was remarkable in synovial lining cells,superficial and middle layers of cartilage in animal os- teoarthritis.There was a significant difference in expression between the animal osteoarthritis and the control group (P＜0.05 ).In human tissue study,LIF mRNA was expressed to a very low level in normal articular tissues and there was no significant difference(P＞0.05)between different anatomical locations.In moderate degrading sub- chondral bone,LIF mRNA was expressed to its highest level.LIF was expressed to the highest level in seriously degrading cartilage tissues.The results were similar to ELISA testing results.LIF extents varied in different articular tissue sections.Conclusions LIF is an important mediator that can contribute to tbe pathogenesis of OA.The different temporal and spatial distributions of LIF in normal and OA tissues imply that LIF may play some important roles in pathogenesis of OA.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and safety of endoscopic intraluminal closure of small colon perforation with metal clips in porcine model.Methods A 2 cm full-thickness colon perforation was made in 4 bama mini-pigs.One did not receive local closure as a control, while 3 others underwent closure with bi-and tri-arm clips, one of which received additional fibrin glue injection after closure.Necropsy was done on day 14 after the procedure, and dye leak test, peritoneal fluid bacteria culture and histological examination were performed.During the 2 week observation period, the body temperature and blood leukocytes count were recorded and compared.Results Endoscopic closure of the colon perforation was technically successful in all 3 pigs.The body temperature and blood leukocyte count of these pigs were both lower than those of the control.Necropsy showed that the perforation in control pig was not completely closed and with multiple adhesions around.Perforation complete closure and pathological healing without adhesion were observed in 2 pigs with clip closure only, while adhesion and incomplete pathological healing was detected in the other one with clip closure plus fibrinogen injection (P＜0.05).Conclusion Endoscopic intraluminal closure of a 2 cm colon perforation with metal clips is feasible and safe, while further study is needed to evaluate the effect of combined local fibrinogen injection.

The effects of Guizhi Fuling capsule and its active ingredient combination within different concentration on SPL proliferate were observed by MTT method. The ratio of CD80/86, CD3CD25 and CD3CD69 was used to evaluate cell activation effects of Guizhi Fuling capsule and its active ingredient combination by FCM. Guizhi Fuling capsule with concentration of 400 mg · L(-1)can promote spleen lymphocyte proliferation, as well as the active ingredient combination, which showed the obvious dose-effect relationship. Compared with control group, the difference has statistical significance (P≤0.01). The result of FCM showed that Guizhi Fuling capsule and its active ingredient combination can promote CD80 and CD86 expression on spleen lymphocyte, and also can increase CD25 and CD69 ratio between spleen CD3+ cells. Compared with control group, the difference has statistical significance (P≤0.01). Thus, Guizhi Fuling capsule and its active ingredient combination may have immune-modulate effects, and the mechanism may have a close relationship with the lymphocyte activation.

In this paper, the action of suet oil in the preparation of self-assembled micelles of the active flavonoids in Epimedium in the simulated human environment was researched. Twelve suet oil samples were collected from different growing areas and different positions of sheep or goat to simulate the formation of micelles. Then the effects of the fatty acids in suet oil on the preparation of self-assembled micelles were studied furthermore. The results showed that the micelles had a dispersed state and spherical smooth surface. To compare the diameter, potential, encapsulation efficiency and drug loading of the 12 batches micelles, the micelles prepared by the suet oil from Qinghai were more stable and had a higher encapsulation efficiency. The fatty acids in suet oil could promote the formation of self-assembled micelles, but the whole suet oil had a better effect. Above all the study, we confirmed that the suet oil promoted the formation of self-assembled micelles of the flavonoids in Epimedium, it laid foundation for further research about increasing the efficacy of Epimedium and improved the absorption of the active flavonoids in Epimedium.
