Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
Based on the lethal rate, positive and negative mutation rate, the optimal doses of UV, HNO2, UV + AO treating S. hygroscopicus NND-52-29 were determined. The mutant strain A19 that was obtained showed the derepres-sive property to glucose and the nigericin yield of A19 could be increased by 128%. When it was subcultured combined with natural screening, its stability was rather satisfied.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2001;0(07):-
Objective To study the imaging features regarding perineural spread of tumor along the trigeminal nerve in malignant head and neck tumors, investigate its usefulness in improving diagnostic accuracy and palnning for clinical treatment. Methods Images in 9 patients with clinical or radiological findings suggestive of perineural spread along trigeminal nerve were retrospectively studied. Results Among the 9 patients, 6 were adenoid cystic carcinoma of the hard palate (n=3), maxillary sinus (n=1), parotid gland (n=1) and buccal space (n=1), respectively. Two were nasopharyngeal carcinoma and 1 was squamous carcinoma of the maxillary sinus. Enlargement and fat effacement of greater palatine foramen and pterygopalatine fossa distant from primary diseases were seen in all the 3 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the hard palate and 1 with squamous carcinoma of maxillary sinus, furthermore, enlargement of foramen ovale and invasion of meckal cave was seen in 1 case. Erosion of infraorbital foramen and enlargement of the pterygopalatine fossa was seen in 1 patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma of maxillary sinus. Enlargement of pterygopalsatine fossa and foramen rotundum and invasion of the Meckal cave were seen in 1 patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma of buccal space. Perineural spread along auriculotemporal nerve and intracranial invasion through foramen ovale were seen in 1 patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma of parotid gland. Enhancement of mandibular nerve was seen in 2 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Conclusion Perineural tumor spread along trigeminal nerve can be seen in malignant head and neck tumors, and knowledge of the anatomy of trigeminal nerve and its surrounding structures is important for correct diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2013;22(4):409-413
Objective To investigate the effect of recruitment maneuver (RM) on acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).Methods A total of 7 patients with early ARDS were involved in this investigate with pressure-control ventilation of FiO2 =1.Hemodynamics and extravascular lung water index (EVLWI) were monitored. After airway preparation, the ventilation parameters were adjusted to inspiration pressure (Pi) =24 cm H2O,positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) =10 cm H2O,frequency (f) =50,inspiration/expiration (I/E) =5/1.Up regulated PEEP to 24 cm H2O and Pi to 45 cm H2O for 3 respiration cycles. Then down regulated Pi to 30 cm H2O and had the artery blood gas analysis immediately. If PaO2 < 450 mm Hg,Pi was increased 5 cm H2O above the last one, until PaO2 > 450 mm Hg,which was considered RM success. Then PEEP was decreased 2 cm H2O and repeated the cycle as formers until PaO2 <350 mm Hg.The optimal PEEP was 2cm H2O above that.Maintained this airway pressure at least for 4 hours.Artery blood gas and hemodynamics of pre-and post-RM were monitored. The RM would be stopped by any unstable hemodynamic. Results In 6 of 7 patients,PaO2 and PEEP were higher than the baseline (P < 0.01) after 4 hours of RM ; EVLWI decreased (P < 0.01).RM was stopped in 1 patient, because of the unstable hemodynamic.None of the 7 patients got RM complications ; meanwhile,6 patients were cured. Conclusions Applying RM on ARDS is safe and effective.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2011;46(9):1150-5
The drug release characteristics ofDa Chuanxiong Fang multiunit drug delivery system (DCXFMDDS) in vivo and in vitro were evaluated. Ferulic acid (FA) and senkyunolide I (SI) were used as marker components, which were two of the effective components of Da Chuanxiong Fang. And their contents were determined by HPLC. Drug release characteristics in vitro of DCXFMDDS and Da Chuanxiong pills and pharmacokinetics characteristics of DCXFMDDS and Da Chuanxiong Fang active fraction (DCXFAF) in rats were compared. It was obvious that FA released from the DCXFMDDS in a sustained fashion but SI in a fast fashion both in vitro and in vivo. The releasing process and the releasing mechanism of FA and SI from DCXFMDDS were different, but the AUC value indicated that compared with DCXFAF the extent of absorption of FA and SI from DCXFMDDS was increased. Though from the same multiunit drug delivery system, FA an SI had different drug release characteristics both in vitro and in vivo, and that may be one of the reason why DCXFMDDS has the good properties such as rapid and long-lasting effect and high efficiency.

Objective To investigate the level of serum angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) in normal subjects and patients with obesity and newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM),and to explore the relationship of serum ANGPTL4 with parameters of body fat,glucose-lipid metabolism, and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR).Methods A total of 160 subjects with normal glucose regulation(NGR) and newly-diagnosed T2DM,were divided into 4 groups:NGR with normal weight group (NGR-NW),NGR with overweight/obese group (NGROW/OB),T2DM with normal weight group (T2DM-NW),and T2DM with overweight/obesity group (T2DM-OW/ OB) according to their body mass index(BMI).ELISA was used to determine the level of serum ANGPTL4.The weight, height, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist hip ratio(WHR),and BMI,fasting insulin(FINS),lipid metabolism parameters, and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) were measured. Results Compare with the NGR group, the level of ANGPTL4 was significantly decreased in the T2DM group [(25.75 ±2.85 vs 31.08 ±3.35)ng/ml,P<0.01],the level of ANGPTL4 in OW/OB group was significantly lower than that in the NW group [(27.27± 3.05 vs 29.04 ± 4.64) ng/ml,P<0.01].Partial correlation analysis showed that serum ANGPTL4 was negatively correlated with BMI,WHR,FPG,2hPG,HbA1C,FINS,HOMA-IR,AST,ALT,and TG levels(P<0.01),but positively correlated with the HDL-C(P<0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that HbA1C,FINS,and HDL-C were independent risk factors of serum ANGPTL4 (β =-0.825,-0.119,3.301,P<0.01).Conclusion Serum ANGPTL4 level in T2DM and OW/OB group was lower than that in NGR and NW group.Serum ANGPTL4 is associated with FINS and lipid metabolism, suggesting that it may play an important role in the pathophysiology of obesity and metabolic syndrome.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2010;45(4):430-5
Oral sustained- and controlled-release drug delivery systems of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are a research hotspot in the development of drug-delivery systems for TCM. The quality evaluation system is an important guarantee for the safety and efficiency of these drug-delivery systems. In this paper the methods to construct such quality evaluation system were discussed.
