China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(20):3941-3944
In this paper, 29 endophytes were isolated from different organs and tissues of Lycium barbarum of Ningxia by tablet coating method, 18 of them was fungi, and 11 of them was actinomycetes. The endophytes quantity in the different tissues were leaves > flowers > roots >fruits; The hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of 11 endophytes were investigated by Fenton reaction, and total antioxidant capacities of them were examined by a. total antioxidant capacity test kit; culture features and strain-specific sequence analysis were employed to explore the diversity of the 11 endophytes. The result showed that 5 fungi and 6 actinomycetes that having antioxidant activity could be phylogenetically classified into 3 genera, 3 genera and 3 families, respectively. The total antioxidant capacity and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity of the 11 endophytes showed distinct difference. The antioxidant activity of Aspergillus were stronger, among which total antioxidant capacity of fL1 was (188.5 ± 0.549) U · mL⁻¹ and the IC₅₀ was 0.3 mg · L⁻¹; the IC₅₀ of strain fL1 was 0.42 mg · L⁻¹ and the total antioxidant capacity of fL9 was (113.63 ± 1.021) U · mL⁻¹, all of them were stronger than the positive control Vit C. The experimental results indicated that endophytic fungi of L. barbarum of Ningxia have a great developing and application prospect for the development of antioxidant agent.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2018;16(1):21-27
Objective: By taking the holism and differentiation concepts of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as the guidance, physical, mental and workplace factors were recruited in the observation of depression in employees, and were systematically classified to establish a workplace-related Liver Meridian-depression scale, for providing an evaluation index for depression in employees. Methods: NVIVO 11 software was adopted to assort ancient TCM classics. Based on the holism and differentiation concepts of TCM and well-developed scales, the item pool was determined via brain storm and screened by Delphi method after classified; a Wechat questionnaire was handed out 240 times via the online system 'Wen Juan Xing', and the results were statistically analyzed by the SPSS 17.0 version software. Results: Five dimensions consisting of 80 items were obtained after classification, and 60 items were selected by Delphi method; a total of 216 questionnaires were returned and the return rate was 90%. Of which, 215 questionnaires were valid ones, and the valid rate was 99%. By exploratory factor analysis (EFA), 44 items were obtained, and the aggregate split-half reliability coefficient was 0.922. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the five dimensions, i.e. Liver Meridian, relevant meridians, basic psychological activities, work cognition and emotional reactions, was respectively 0.841, 0.842, 0.914, 0.836 and 0.839, indicating a content internal consistency. The score of each item was highly correlated with the corresponding dimension, and the intercommunity was between 0.474 and 0.801. Nine factors were generated, 2 in the dimension of Liver Meridian, 3 in the dimension of relevant meridians, 2 in the dimension of basic psychological activities, 1 in the dimension of work cognition, and 1 in the dimension of emotional reactions, and the load of each factor was between 0.438 and 0.859. The reliability and validity of the scale were well examined. Conclusion: The scale can be applied to evaluate the qi activities of Liver Meridian and depression symptoms related to workplace.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of bend-assisted laparoseopie fight bemicolectomy for right colon carcinoma in elderly obesity patients. Methods 20 obesity eases undergoing hand-assisted laparoscopic right bemicolectomy were retrospectively reviewed, and compared with 25 obesity cases with transabdominal right hemicolectomy in the same period. The safety, recovery, eradication and stress reaction were compared. Results In hand-assisted laparoscopic group, there were less bleeding loss, rapid recovery to normal temperature and gastrointestinal function, ont of bed activity, short-time hospitalization compared with transabdominal group(P <0.01). There were no differences in operative time, numbers of lymph nodes removed, postoperative complications and length of specimen between two gronps(P > 0.05). CRP, IL-6, adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol were more significantly increased in two groups after operation than before operation (P < 0. 05) , and this increase was moreprominent in transabdominal group than in hand-assisted laparoacopic group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Hand-assis-ted laparoscopic right hemicolectomy is a safe and effective way for elderly obesity patients, especially in postoperative recovery and physical stress reaction.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical effects of single posterior debridement, bone grafting, internal fixation and local chemotherapy in treating thoracolumbar spinal tuberculosis.
METHODSFrom February 2009 to September 2012,11 patients with thoracolumbar spinal tuberculosis were treated by single posterior debridement, bone grafting, internal fixation and local chemotherapy. There were 7 males and 4 females, aged from 27 to 65 years old with an average of 53.7 years. The courses of disease was from 3 months to 2 years with the mean of 9 months. According to ASIA standard of spinal cord injury, 3 cases were grade C and 8 cases D. After treatment, clinical effects were evaluated by ASIA grade, visual analogue score (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI); kyphosis Cobb angle change was observed by X-rays.
RESULTSEleven patients were followed up from 12 to 29 months with an average of 18 months. ASIA grade of spinal cord injury, 3 patients with grade C improved to grade D in 2 cases and grade E in 1 case 8 patients with grade D improved to grade E in 7 cases and unchanged in 1 case. VAS decreased from preoperative 6.10 ± 1.30 to 1.70 ± 0.80 at 3 d after operation (P < 0.05). ODI improved from preoperative (68.36 ± 10.41)% to (14.55 ± 8.99)% (P < 0.05) at 3 d after operation. Kyphotic Cobb angle was corrected from preoperative (22.64 ± 4.84)° to (4.27 ± 1.49)° (P < 0.05) on the 3rd day after operation, and angle loss was mild at final follow-up, there was no significant difference between postoperative at 3 d and final follow-up.
CONCLUSIONSingle posterior debridement, bone grafting, internal fixation and local chemotherapy for the treatment of thoracolumbar spinal tuberculosis can effectively remove the lesion, improve nerve function and correct deformity, has advantage of single incision, little trauma, and low recurrence rate. But it still need long-term and systemic treatment with anti-TB drugs.

7.Two surgical methods to modify upper eyelid retraction with thyroid associated-ophthalmopathy.
Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2006;22(5):358-361
OBJECTIVETo evaluate the treatment effect of the two surgical methods for upper eyelid retraction with thyroid associated-ophthalmopathy.
METHODSTwenty-two patients (32 eyes) with inactive thyroid associated-ophthalmopathy were divided into 2 groups (11 for each group) randomly. 11 patients (18 eyes) in the group A were treated by central tenotomy of levator aponeurosis. Another 11 patients (14 eyes) in the group B were treated by lengthening of Mullers' muscle combined with levator muscle. The treatment effect was investigated in 6-month follow-up study.
RESULTSAll of the patients were improved with the two surgical methods, which there was very significant difference before and after the treatments (P < 0.01), but not between the two surgical methods (P > 0.05) by statistical analysis. There was recurrent retracting in 4 patients (6 eyes) of group A and in 1 patient (1 eye) of group B, which there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05) by Chi-square test. None of the patients was overcorrected.
CONCLUSIONSThe two methods are both effective and safe in correcting upper eyelid retraction. The rate of recurrent retracting is lower in lengthening of Mullers' muscle combined with levator muscle than that in central tenotomy of levator aponeurosis.

Objective To study the clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis of bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP). Methods The clinicopathological features of 3 patients with BPOP were analyzed , and related literature was reviewed. Results 3 patients included 2 males and 1 female with an average age 40 years old (24-53 years old). The lesions in three patients were located in the left side of the distal radius, the left side of the little finger inside and the right side of ulna coracoid, respectively. Histologically, characterized by unusual mineralized cartilaginous matrix (`blue bone'), the lesion was composed of a heterogeneous mixture of bone, cartilage and fibrous tissue. Conclusion BPOP is a rare benign surface osteocartilaginous lesion, and its diagnosis and differential diagnosis mainly depend on radiographic and histopathologic features.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2007;9(5):433-435
OBJECTIVESome research has shown that there may be memory/caution (M/C) defects in children with primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE). This study aimed to investigate whether the defects affect the intelligence level and the intelligence structure in PNE children.
METHODSIntelligence tests were performed by means of Wechsler Young Children Scales of Intelligence (C-WISC) in 40 children with PNE and 40 age-matched normal children.
RESULTSThe full intelligence quotient (FIQ), verbal IQ (VIQ) and performances IQ (PIQ) in the PNE group were in a normal range and did not different from the control group. There were significant differences in the scores for digit extent, decipher, knowledge and arithmetics between the PNE and the control groups (P < 0.05). M/C factor in the PNE group was statistically lower than in the control group (93.44 +/-11.27 vs 100.03 +/-11.79; P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSThe total intelligence level of children with PNE was normal, but the M/C factor in the intelligence structure had some defects, suggesting that PNE may be related to the abnormity of executive function in the frontal lobe.
