Objective To investigate the variation of coagulation markers and its clinical value in type 2 diabetes patients. Methods The plasma levels of von Willebrand factor: antigen (vWF: Ag), thrombomodulin (TM), prothrombin fragment 1+2 (F 1+2 ) and P selectin were measured by ELISA in 65 patients with type 2 diabetes (including 33 patients with vascular complication) and 38 healthy people. 2.Complications of 195 Children with Cerebral Palsy

ObjectiveTo analyze the complications of cerebral palsy (CP) children.Methods195 CP children (113 boys and 82 girls, 7 months to 11 years old) were examined by electroencephalogram, eye consultation, auditory brainstem response and Gesell developmental schedule except routine examinations to detect the complications.Results27(13.8%) CP children had motor delay as the only sign. 168 CP children had one or more complications, 168(86.2%) cases with mental retardation, 92(47.2%) cases with visual disability, 40(20.5%) cases with growth delay, 25( 12.8 %) cases with epilepsy, 12(6.2%) cases with hearing disability, 11(5.6%) cases with microcephaly, 3(1.5%) cases with abnormal behavior. 15(7.7%) cases of CP children had at least two kinds of complications, 123(63.1%) cases had three kinds of complications, 30(15.4%) cases had four kinds of complications.ConclusionMost of the CP children have one or more complications.
3.Mechanism of leukemia relapse: novel insights on old problem.

Relapse, which puzzled several generations of hematologists, is the bottle-neck of radical treatment for leukemias. The progress of Human Microbiome Project at the beginning of 21st century suggested that human body was a super-organism constituted by the core of human cells and symbiotic microorganisms. The elucidation and characterization of endogenous retrovirus and prion protein suggested the possible effects of co-evolutional microorganisms on human health. Recently, the elucidation of the roles of tunneling nanotubes in intercellular communication and transportation suggested a novel way for cellular communication and transport of oncogenic materials. The role and significance of in vivo cell fusion have been studied in more detail. On the other hand, donor cell leukemia was reported. All of these approaches provide novel insights for studying the mechanism of leukemia relapse. Based on previous work, the authors suggest the hypothesis: there are two possible mechanisms for the relapse of leukemias: the minimal residual disease (MRD) and intercellular transportation of oncogenic materials.

5.Latent infection of human herpes virus in hematopoietic system.

Up to date, eight types of human herpes viruses have been identified, all of which are ubiquitous, and usually establish latent infection in the host after primary infection. Since most of the herpes viruses are maintained in an asymptomatic form, they are often neglected. However, under some circumstances, these herpes viruses can cause fatal or severe diseases. Furthermore, the association of herpes viruses with hematopoietic malignancies is attracting researchers' attention. With the extensive development of hematopoietic stem cell and organ transplantation, reports regarding transplantation failure and complication caused by infection of human herpes virus has been increasing. Cytokine storm was firstly suggested as the mechanism of graft-versus-host diseases. In recent years, which has also been applied in the pathogenesis research of inflammation, and is supposed to play an important role in severe virus infection. In this paper, through discussing the possible role of latent infection of human herpes virus in the failure or complication of bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and in refractory leukemia, the function and significance of latent infection of human herpes virus and the cytokine storm it caused were investigated.

6.Leukemia stem cells and their microenvironment--editorial.

As pioneer of tumor stem cell research, leukemia stem cell research has not only important theoretical significance, but also clinical application potential. The survival and development of stem cells are directly impacted by their microenvironment. The research on leukemia stem cells and their microenvironment are now becoming a hot topic. The author presumes that stem cells are a population with heterogenecity and hierarchy; any single cell from the population is difficult to form a clone; the interaction between the leukemia stem cell and its microenvironment can be described by the concept of leukemia stem cell niche. In this article, the leukemia cell population with heterogenecity and hierarchy as well as leukemia stem cell niche were summarized and discussed.

The voltage-gated sodium channel subtype Nav1.7 is highly expressed in nociceptive sensory neurons and is a key pathogenic target in several human hereditary pain syndromes. In recent years, a large number of studies have shown that Nav1.7 plays an important role in inflammatory, neuropathic, and nociceptive pain. Therefore, targeting Nav1.7 is a new strategy and hotspot for the development of novel analgesics. This review introduces the structure and function of Nav1.7, its regulatory role in pain, highlights the development progress of small-molecule Nav1.7 inhibitors in clinical trials, and analyzes the preclinical development of highly specific Nav1.7 inhibitors, with a view to providing reference for the development of Nav1.7 analgesic drugs.
9.Protective effect of licoflavone on gastric mucosa in rats with chronic superficial gastritis.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the protective effect of licoflavone on gastric mucosa in rats with chronic superficial gastritis and explore the possible mechanism.
METHODSSD rat models of chronic superficial gastritis was established by intragastric administration of 0.02% ammonia and long-term irregular diet. The rat models were then randomized into model group, vitacoenzyme group and 3 licoflavone groups of high, medium, and low doses. After 30 days of treatment, the gastric histopathology, mucosal lesions, scanning electron microscopy, mucin function production by the gastric mucosa epithelial cells, serum PGE(2) level and gastric microcirculation were assessed to evaluate the protective effect of licoflavone on gastric mucosa.
RESULTSCompared with normal control rats, the rat models of chronic superficial gastritis showed significantly higher gastric mucosal injury rate, histopathological scores and gastric mucin content. Licoflavone significantly ameliorated gastric pathology and increased serum PGE(2) level, enhanced acidic mucin secretion by the epithelial cells, and improved gastric microcirculation in the rat models.
CONCLUSIONLicoflavone feeding suppresses gastric mucosa injury, protects and restores the injured mucosa in rats with chronic superficial gastritis, and these effects are related with the up-regulation of serum PGE(2) level.

10.Effects of exercise rehabilitation nursing on the patients with chronic heart failure

Objective To explore the effect and feasibility of exercise rehabilitation nursing on patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods Seventy-seven patients with CHF were randomly divided into exercise rehabilitation nursing group (n =40 cases).and control group (n =37 cases).Exercise rehabilitation nursing group received routine exercise rehabilitation nursing,control group only received routine nursing,and both group received health education and the training of self-management.Results There was no difference in general condition and heart function index in two groups before intervention (P >0.05 ).After intervention,heart function index and life quality of all patients were improved.The average heart ejection fraction in exercise rehabilitation nursing group was [ (50.5 + 7.2 ) % ] and that in control group was [ ( 35.5 + 5.2 ) % ],and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05 ).The heart rate of exercise rehabilitation nursing group(76.5 ± 6.8)was significantly lower than that of control group( 88.6 ± 7.3 ) times per minute,although all patients'heart rate were decreased ( t =2.14,P < 0.05 ).The six-minute walk test results were improved after intervention in both group,exercise rehabilitation nursing group was(451.4 ± 35.5 )meters and control group was (350.8 ±31.5) meters,and the difference was statistically significant ( t =13.17,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions Exercise rehabilitation nursing is an effective method to improve the cardiac function and life quality due to decreasing heart rate,increasing ejection fraction and improving six-minute walk distance in patients with chronic heart failure.
