1.Surveillance on endemic situation of schistosomiasis in national surveillance sites of Chongqing City in 2006

Objective To understand the correlative factors of impacting schistosomiasis prevalence so as to provide the scientific evidence for drawing up the control project in Three Gorges Reservoir areas.Methods The report system of schistosomiasis was set up,and the cases were investigated.The population were screened by indirect haemagglutination test(IHA),and the serum-positive people were examined with Kato-Katz technique.The livestock and plants imported from the schistosomiasis endemic areas were investigated.Results Eighty-eight floating people returning from schistosomiasis endemic areas and 107 floating persons from endemic areas were investigated,and the serum positive rates were 1.14% and 1.87%,respectively.No schistosome eggs were found in stool examinations.There was no livestock and plant imported from schistosomiasis endemic areas.The production of local inhabitants depended on mainly cattle,and the river water contact was popular.Conclusions There are infection resources of schistosomiasis imported from endemic areas,which has a potential risk of schistosomiasis prevalence.

The results of isolation,screening and identification of Bacillus subtilis strains which produced fibronolysion were reported in this paper.20 Bacillus subtilis strains were screened from different withered straw samples.Among them,FM-S1,FM-S2,FM-S6,FM-S8 and FM-S11 produce fibronolysin with higher activity.According to morphological,physiological and biochemical characters,the screened strains were confirmed to be Bacillus subtilis. For FM-S2,the production of fibronolysin type in solid fermentation was considered to be synchronous with growth.

Objective To evaluate the effect of pulmonary function test on infants with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). AIMTo explore the possible effect of the deleted in azoospermia (DAZ) copy cluster deletion on spermatogenesis in the Chinese population, the deletion of the azoospermia factor c (AZFc) region was analyzed in 346 normozoospermic men.
METHODSThree DAZ single nucleotide variant loci and seven AZFc-specific sequence-tagged sites were examined with polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-restriction fragment length polymorphism and routine PCR.
RESULTSFive (1.4%) of the normozoospermic men were found to have deletion of gr/gr-DAZ1/DAZ2. None of the men were found to have b2/b4-entire DAZ deletion.
CONCLUSIONThe presence of gr/gr-DAZ1/DAZ2 deletion in five men with normozoospermia suggests that this deletion per se may not be sufficient for spermatogenic impairment in Chinese men.

The development and compilation of Evidence-based Guidelines of Clinical Practice with Acupuncture and Moxibustion: Adult Bronchial Asthma are introduced from three aspects, named the guideline methodology, the guideline structure and the guideline content. Based on the acupuncture-moxibustion practice and clinical research, the evidence-based medicine method is adopted. During the development and compilation of the guideline, the characteristics and advantages of acupuncture and moxibustion are specially considered in the treatment of this disease; the latest optimum evidences at home and abroad, experts' experience and patients' value are closely integrated with each other. Additionally, the worldwide accepted assessments of evidence quality and the recommendation (GRADE system) are combined with the clinical evidences of the ancient and modern famous acupuncture-moxibustion experts, and the clinical research evidences are with the experts' consensus to the large extent. The purpose of the guideline is to provide the maximal guidance to the clinical physicians.

7.Protective effects of histone deacetylase inhibitor on stress-induced myocardial injury in rats.

OBJECTIVETo observe the protective effects of histone deacetylase inhibitor on stress-induced myocardial injury.
METHODSHealthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups( n = 6), and the stress-induced myocardial injury model was established with chronic restraint stress method. The protective effects of histone deacetylase inhibitor on stress-induced myocardial injury were observed with Trichostatin A (TSA) intervention. Histone acetylation levels in myocardium of rats were detected by Western blot method, spectrophotometry method was used to dynamically determine the activity of rat serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), serum creatine kinase isoenzyme-MB (CK-MB) and Caspase 3, and nagar Olsen staining were used to observe the early myocardial damage.
RESULTSRestraint stress could significantly reduce the level of histone acetylation of myocardium in rats, and TSA intervention could inhibit the stress-induced reduction of myocardial levels of histone acetylation. Restraint stress could cause the significant increase of serum LDH activity ( P < 0.05), serum CK-MB activity ( P < 0.05), and the Caspase 3 activity of myocardial tissue (P < 0.05), and early myocardial damage also occurred during restraint stress. ISA intervention could significantly reduce the serum LDH activity (P < 0.05), the serum CK-MB activity (P < 0.05), the activity of myocardial tissue caspase 3 induced by restraint stress (P < 0.05), and the stress-induced myocardial injury was also attenuated by TSA intervention.
CONCLUSIONThe histone deacetylase inhibitor TSA can protect stress-induced myocardial injury.

8.Effects of hyperbaric oxygenation on rabbits 'testes with varicocele.

OBJECTIVETo study the mechanism of male infertility caused by varicocele by evaluating the effects of hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) therapy on the testicular tissue morphology and function of rabbit model with varicocele(VC).
METHODSTwenty-four mature male rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: pseudo-operation, VC model and VC model administered by HBO. Experimental varicocele was induced by partial ligation of the left "lumbotesticular" trunk vein in rabbits. HBO was administered to one of the two groups of VC model rabbits after the operation. Weight and volume of both testes, parameters of seminal fluid, histological changes of testicular tissues, MTDs, TFI, and Sertoli cell index (SI) of seminiferous tubules were studied.
RESULTSThe average weight and volume of the left testes significantly increased in the rabbits treated by HBO. The semen quality was improved, and MTDs increased significantly compared with VC group(P < 0.0001). The testicular tissue morphology became nearly normal in VC + HBO group.
CONCLUSIONS1. Both the structure and spermatogenetic function of testes can be damaged by the presence of varicocele; 2. Chronic ischemia, anoxia and microcircular dysfunction may be the key process and essential factor that make varicocele contributive to testicular damage and spermatogenetic dysfunction; 3. HBO can effectively alleviate, even eliminate, chronic ischemia, anoxia and microcircular dysfunction in testicular tissues with varicocele, and thus protect the structure and functions of testes.

9.Coumarins from Leonurus japonicus and their anti-platelet aggregative activity.

Chemical constituents of Leonurus japonicus were isolated and purified by a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, MCI, and Rp C18. Structures of the isolates were determined by spectroscopic analysis as 10 coumarins: bergapten (1), xanthotoxin (2), isopimpinellin (3), isogosferal (4), imperatorin (5), meransin hydrate(6), isomeranzin(7), murrayone(8) , auraptenol(9), and osthol(10). In addition to compound 9, the others were isolated from the genus Leonurus for the first time. In the in vitro assay, compounds 4 and 8 significantly inhibited the abnormal increase of platelet aggregation induced by ADP.

10.Study on effect of clinical pathway implementation in advanced schistosomi-asis with ascites

Objective To evaluate the effect of clinical pathway(CP)on the implementation of advanced schistosomiasis pa-tients with ascites.Methods Totally 1 129 cases of advanced schistosomiasis patients with ascites but without other complica-tions were selected randomly from the Performance Evaluation and Management System for Medical Treatment of Advanced Schistosomiasis Patients in Hubei Province from year 2011 to 2013.Among the patients,754 cases were treated by CP(CP group),and 375 cases were treated with traditional methods(NCP group),and the hospitalization days,hospitalization expens-es,medicine proportions,treatment outcomes and degrees of satisfaction and health knowledge rates of the two groups were com-pared.Meanwhile,the variation of CP was calculated.Results The average length of hospital days of the CP group and NCP group were(13.85 ± 5.60)d and(17.92 ± 5.80)d,respectively,and the average hospitalization costs of the two groups were(4 699.14 ± 1 520.59)Yuan and(5 692.01 ± 1 616.66)Yuan,respectively,both the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Also the hospitalization cost structures of the two groups were remarkably different,the composition ratios of the inspection fee and accommodation fee in the CP group were lower than those in the NCP group,but the constituent ratios of the examination fee,diagnosis and treatment fee,drug charges and other expenses were higher than those in the NCP group(all P<0.05).The awareness rate of health knowledge in the CP group was higher than that in the NCP group(P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences in the treatment outcome and the degree of satisfaction between the two groups(both P>0.05).The variation rate of CP was 9.02%(68/754).Conclusions The implementation of CP can decrease the days of hos-pital stay and medical expenses,improve the awareness rate on health knowledge of the patients.The CP treatment with low vari-ation rate is applicable to advanced schistosomiasis patients with ascites but without complications.
