Objective To establish a simple, cost-effective method to measure reactive oxygen metabolites ( ROMs) using automatic biochemical analyzer. Methods Serum samples were collected from 50 healthy individuals and 50 hospitalized patientsin Beijing Hospital from September 2013 to November 2013.By setting up and optimizing parameters on automatic biochemical analyzer, a new method of measuring ROMS was established with TBHP as calibrator.130 healthy non-smokers were recruited in Beijing Hospital from November 2013 to December 2013 to establish reference interval, including 73 males and 57 females. The average age was 68.8 ±12.5.According to CLSI documents, there was the establishment of the new method including precision, limit of blank ( LoB ) , limit of detection ( LoD ) , limit of quantitation (LoQ), linearity, interference testing, and reference interval. Results The intra assay imprecision was 1. 5%-4.1% and the total imprecision was 4.4%-9.9%.LoB was 0.85 mmol/L TBHP;LoD was 2. 7mmol/L TBHP;LoQ was 5.9mmol/L TBHP.The linearity was 5.9-600 mmol/L (R2 =0.995).When triglyceride≤28.58 mmol/L, hemoglobin≤173 g/L, vitamin C≤60 mg/dl and bilirubin≤73.8 μmol/L, the deviation was -7.6%, 4.6%, -98.9%, 19.1%respectively.The normal reference interval was 61.9 -88.1 mmol/L TBHP.Conclusions The newly-established method has good performances of precision,LOD and linearity, which can meet the clinical needs. The interference of triglyceride and hemoglobin is small, while vitamin C and bilirubin have stronger interference on measurement.( Chin J Lab Med,2015,38:163-167)

AIM To discuss the intraspecific relationship in Magnolia officinalis and the genuineness of Cortex Magnoliae officinalis, and to find some DNA characters of certified “Houpo”. METHODS Thirty-three samples from eleven locations, which can represent most of the distribution of M.officinalis, were selected. The total DNA was extracted. Severty-four random primers were tried to get good amplification. RESULTS One hundred and sixteen bands amplified from seventeen primers, were clustered by NTSYS-pc software. Three branches were obtained. Some distinctive primers and bands, which represent certified species or fine breed, were obtained also. CONCLUSION 1) M.officinalis should be divided into three geographic clans instead of two subspecies or varieties, they are, a) typical officinalis, b) typical biloba and c) Middle type. This conclusion agrees with the leaf form and other characters. 2) The genetic difference between “Chuanpo” and “Wenpo” is evident and the difference is in correspondence with the quantities of their chemical constituents. So, the genetic difference is the main reason of the genuineness of Cortex Magnoliae officinalis. 3) These results may be used to establish DNA database for identification of Cortex Magnoliae officinalis.

Geriatrics develops relatively late in medical education, but geriatric medical education is rapidly rising for aggravation of the aging of population. And geriatric medical education is desired of the properties medical sciences, and is also the need of the development itself. Therefore, geriatric medical education should be internationalized, to eventually form distinctive education.

The prescriptions containing pericarpium citri reticulatae that built by Professor. Yan were collected to build a database based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) inheritance assist system. After analyzed by data mining, such as apriori algorithm, the frequency of single medicine, the frequency of drug combination, the association rules between drugs and core drug combinations can be get from the database. Through the analysis of 1 027 prescriptions with pericarpium citri reticulatae, these prescriptions were commonly used to treat stomach aches, cough and other syndromes. The most frequency drug combinations were "Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium-Poria", "Paeoniae Radix Rubra-Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium" and so on. The drug association rules that the confidence was 1 were "Glycyrrhizae Radix ex Rhizoma --> Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium", "Paeoniae Alba Radix-Cyperi Rhizoma --> Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium", "Poria --> Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium", and so on. The drugs in the prescriptions containing pericarpium citri reticulatae that built by Professor Yan mostly had the effects of regulating the flow of Qi and invigorate blood circulation, which reflected the clearly thought when making prescriptions.

OBJECTIVETo prepare a mouse model of asthma by sensitizing and challenging with house dust mite allergen Derp and evaluate its reliability by measuring airway allergy inflammation and airway responsiveness.
METHODSTwelve C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into two groups: control and asthma model. Mice of the asthma model group were sensitized by intraperitoneal injection of house dust mite allergen Derp on the first and tenth days of the experiment. From the 17th day, the mice were challenged by intranasal Derp, once every other day, seven times. The control group was treated with normal sodium instead of Derp. Twenty-four hours after the last challenge, airway responsiveness was evaluated. Bronchoalveolar lavage and histological examination of the lung were performed.
RESULTSAirway resistance increased and dynamic lung compliance decreased significantly in the asthma model group as compared to the control group (P<0.01). When airway resistance increased by 25% and dynamic lung compliance decreased by 15%, the required metacholine concentration in the asthma model group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.01). In the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of the asthma model group, the number of total cells, absolute number of eosinophils (EOS) and the percentage of EOS in the total cell were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). Pulmonary pathological scores in the asthma model group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). The asthma model group showed ultrastructural changes of bronchial and pulmonary arterioles. Goblet cells, mastocyte granules, and increased mucus were observed in the lung tissues of the asthma model group.
CONCLUSIONSA mouse model of asthma was prepared by sensitizing and challenging with house dust mite allergen Derp, with the characteristics of airway allergy inflammation and airway hypersensitivity reaction.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(4):631-633
Analyzed the prescriptions for phlegm retention syndrome that built by Ma Peizhi by the association rules and clustering algorithm, the frequency of drug usage and the relationship between drugs could be get. And from that we could conclude the experiences for phlegm retention syndrome of Ma Peizhi of menghe medical genre. The results of the analysis were that 18 core combinations were dig out, such as Citri Exocarpium Rubrum-Eriobotryae Folium-Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium. And there were 9 new prescriptions were found out such as Aurantii Fructus-Citri Exocarpium Rubium-Eriobotryae Folium-Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium. The results of the analysis were proved that Ma Peizhi of Menghe Medical Genre was good at curing phlegm retention syndrome by using the traditional Chinese medicine of mild and light, such as the medicines of mild tonification, and clearing damp and promoting diuresis.
