3.Clinical observation on the effect of resection of eyelid tumor and stageⅠ recovery
International Eye Science 2014;(8):1535-1536
AIM: To investigate clinical effects of local resection of eyelid tumors and pathological examination or frozen section examination as well as the stage I recovery.
METHODS: For all 92 cases 92 eyes of eyelid tumor patients who underwent local resection, reconstruction in stage Ⅰ and routine pathological examination ( 37 cases of suspected malignant tumors using frozen section examination. If it was malignant, excision by Moths surgery) . Using free palate mucosa autograft in stage I or reconstruction by Hughes surgery combined with eye flaps repaired eyelid defects.
RESULTS: The postoperative pathological diagnosis:52 cases were benign tumors, and 40 cases malignant tumors. All cases of eye flaps and hard palate mucosa grafts were survived. Followed up for more than 6mo, no tumor were recurred. The appearance and function of eyelid were satisfactory.
CONCLUSION: In this group of cases, nearly half of eyelid tumors are malignant tumors. It should be treated and operated as early as possible. For suspected malignant tumors, we use frozen section examination to confirm its properties in order to excision cleanly in stageⅠ, reducing the recurrence and metastasis. According to the eyelid defect after resection, we could do repair operation in stage Ⅰ. The inner larger defect is repaired by using hard palate mucosa transplantation or Hughes surgery. The outer layer of the eyelid defect is repaired by using eye flap glide, the free flap, the kite flap, the simple suture, etc. It should be careful when using the hard palate mucosa transplantation in the upper eyelid defect.

Objective To compare the results of mobilization of peripheral stem cells of two different G-CSF dosage schedules in 30 healthy donors. Methods In one group 15 healthy subjects received 5?g/kg filgrastim once daily subcutaneously (SC), while in the other group another 15 individuals received 2.5?g/kg of filgrastim twice daily SC. Peripheral blood stem cells were collected after five days of filgrastim administration, and flow cytometric immunophenotyping was performed for the first harvest. Results The MNC count was 2.93?10 8/kg donor body weight in the 5?g/kg Qd group compared with 4.42?10 8/kg in the 2.5?g/kg bid group (P0.05). Conclusion Administration of filgrastim twice a day at 2.5?g/kg instead of once a day at 5?g/kg is more efficient in mobilizing stem cells without obvious side effect.

Abstract? AIM: To investigate changes of anterior chamber parameters after posterior chamber phakic implantable collamer lens ( ICL ) surgery and its correlation with intraocular pressure ( IOP) .?METHODS: This was a retrospective case series study. Seventy four eyes in 43 myopia patients were examined by Allegro Oculyzer anterior segment tomography to obtain the changes of anterior chamber volume ( ACV ) , anterior chamber angle ( ACA) , central anterior chamber depth ( ACD) and vault, meanwhile, to measure the IOP to analyze the correlation with anterior chamber parameters.?RESULTS: Compared with preoperative, ACV, ACA, ACD all decreased apparently ( P <0.01 ) in the postoperative period of 1, 3, and 6mo.ACV, ACA and ACD showed their stability in each period after the surgery. There were changes of vault in 1 and 6mo ( t=27.66, P=0.01).IOP had not altered when compared with the preoperative. This research revealed that IOP had no relation with ACV, ACA, ACD and vault in every phase( all P>0.05).?CONCLUSION:For patients underwent ICL, the anterior chamber parameters all decreased which included ACV, ACA, ACD, and had stabilized since early postoperative period. Correspondingly, IOP was stable and had not correlate with ACV, ACA, ACD and vault, however the long-term observation is still necessary.

Microvesicles (MVs) are the heterogeneous mixtures of vesicles. MVs released by leukemia cells constitute an important part of the leukemia microenvironment. MVs might act as important reservoirs of microRNAs (miRNAs). It is worth evaluating whether MVs possess some unique miRNA contents that are valuable in understanding the pathogenesis. In this study, we investigated the miRNA expression patterns of Nalm-6-derived MVs, Jurkat-derived MVs and normal cell-derived MVs using miRNA microarrays. The potential target genes regulated by differentially expressed miRNAs were also predicted and analyzed. Results demonstrated that 182 miRNAs and 166 miRNAs were differentially expressed in Nalm-6-MVs and Jurkat-MVs, respectively. Many oncogenes, tumor suppressors and signal pathway genes were targeted by these aberrantly expressed miRNAs, which might contribute to the development of B-ALL or T-ALL. Our findings expanded the potential diagnostic markers of ALL and provided useful information for ALL pathogenesis.

To determine the optimum conditions of supercritical CO2 extraction of Xiaoyaosan, and establish its fingerprint by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), the yield of extract were investigated, an orthogonal test was used to quantify the effects of extraction temperature, pressure, CO2 flow rate and time, and fingerprint analysis of different batches of extracts were by GC-MS. The optimal extraction conditions were determined as follows: extraction pressure 20 MPa, extraction temperature 50 degrees C, CO2 flow rate 25 kg x h(-1), extraction time 3 h, and average yield 2.2%. The GC-MS fingerprint was established and 27 common peaks were found, whose contents add up to 81.89% of the total peak area. Among them, 21 compounds were identified, accounting for 53.20% of the total extract. The extraction process is reasonable and favorable for industrial production. The GC-MS method is accurate, reliable, reproducible, and can be used for quality control of supercritical CO2 extract from Xiaoyaosan.
