Objective To investigate the hypothesis that food allergy in infants may be associated with variation in their intestinal microflora. The formation of intestinal microflora in healthy infants and changes in food allergic infants were detected. Methods 16S rRNA gene sequences specific for bifidobacterium, lactobacillus and escherichia coli in fecal were quantitatively detected by real-time PCR. The three fecal floras were assessed in 71 healthy infants and 100 infants with food allergy. Results After birth, there were bifidobacteria colonized in infantile intestine, then the number increased rapidly up to 5 times at the sixth month, which was always the preponderant flora. Lactobacilli was also presented in infantile intestine 1 month after birth and augment gradually. The number of Escherichia coli was less than bifidobacteria and lactobacilli and appeared to decline during the early infants. The number of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in the infants with food allergy were markedly less than that in the healthy infants, but escherichia coli was significantly more than that in the healthy infants. Conclusions During the first year of life, the intestinal microflora in infants is in a developing process. Compared with the healthy infants, bifidobacteria and lactobacilli decrease, but escherichia coli increase in the food allergic infants. These results indicate that the probiotics may be benefit to the prevention and treatment of food allergy.

AlM: To explore the judgment of pattern reversal visual evoked potential on visual function and injured part of children with spastic cerebral palsy.METHODS: There were two groups in this study. 30 children with spastic cerebral palsy ( quadriplegia: 15, diplegia:15) were selected as observation group, while 30 normal children were selected as control group with randomized controlled trial. The changes of half-view and full- view incubation period and amplitude were observed by pattern reversal visual evoked potential.RESULTS: Full-view pattern reversal visual evoked potential: the P100 incubation period of the observation group was 113. 55 ± 8. 14ms, and the P100 amplitude was 23. 08±15. 41μV. The P100 incubation period of the control group was 105. 05 ± 5. 58ms, and the P100 amplitude was 31. 65±7. 37μV. From the comparison on P100 incubation and P100 amplitude between two groups, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0. 05 ) . P100 incubation period of the spastic diplegia of full-view pattern reversal visual evoked potential was 112. 73±7. 22ms, and the P100 amplitude was 21. 03±12. 17μV. P100 incubation period of the spastic quadriplegia was 114. 37 ± 9. 02ms, and the P100 amplitude was 25. 14 ± 18. 06μV. From the comparison on P100 incubation and P100 amplitude between two groups, the difference had no statistically significance (P>0. 05). Compared to the control group, each eye and each view latency of observation group were higher, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0. 05). The change of the incubation period of the full-view and half - view pattern reversal visual evoked potential took place in the lesion of the visual pathway:including optic neuropathy, some optic nerve lesion, lesion after optic chiasma, and optic chiasma lesion. Among them, the lesion after the optic chiasma was the most common.CONCLUSlON:Pattern reversal visual evoked potential can help people to understand the visual impairment and injury of children with spastic cerebral palsy in order to identify the abnormal children and early intervention.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2015;23(8):618-621
Purpose Ovarian dysgerminoma has no specific symptoms or physical signs, which is thus prone to misdiagnosis before treatment. This paper aims to investigate CT and MRI clinical features of ovarian dysgerminoma, so as to provide an accurate basis for its clinical treatment and also improve patients'' life, quality.Materials and MethodsThe CT and MRI data of 13 patients with ovarian dysgerminoma proved by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Three patients underwent plain and enhanced CT scan, 6 took plain and enhanced MRI scan on T1WI and T2WI with different angles of views, and 4 other patients were performed both CT and MRI scan.Results①Twelve patients had single lesions, and 1 was bilateral multiple ones. The diameter of the lesions ranged from 5.5 cm to 16.5 cm, with mean of (9.5±3.8) cm; in terms of pathological type, 11 belonged to single type and 2 were mixed.②The CT results showed that 6 were solid mass and 1 was cystic. On enhanced CT scan, 6 cases showed heterogeneous light-to-moderate enhancement, 4 had tumors with significantly enhanced blood vessels, and 1 showed heterogeneous significant enhancement at arterial phase; all cases presented continuous enhancement at venous phase.③The MRI manifestations demonstrated 8 were with solid mass, which displayed iso- or slightly hypointense signal on T1WI, and iso- or slightly hyperintense signal on T2WI. The enhanced scan showed that 5 cases had heterogeneous mild enhancement, 3 had moderate enhancement, and 4 were seen with tortuous tumor vessels at arterial phase; all displayed continuous enhancement at venous phase. In the one case of cystic mass, solid component had moderate enhancement at arterial phase and continuous enhancement at venous phase. In another case of multilocular cystic mass, the tumor separate and cyst were significantly enhanced at arterial phase, and were continuous enhanced with hyperintense at venous phase. Conclusion Ovarian dysgerminoma tumors present features such as large lesions with clear boundaries. Tumors of single type are likely to be solid mass with central necrosis; the plain CT scan shows isodensity; the plain MRI scan mainly shows isodensity on T1WI, and iso- or slight hyperintensity on T2WI; the enhanced scan presents slight to moderate enhancement. Tumors of mixed type demonstrate cystic mass; the solid and separate parts are significantly enhanced. The comprehensive analysis of imaging features of ovarian neoplasms could help to make a correct diagnosis before surgery.
