Objective To investigate the expression of E-cadherin in prostate cancer and its relationship with PSA. Methods E-cadherin expression of 56 prostate cancer samples were studied by immunohistochemical stain and its expression level was analyzed with respect to T-PSA, F-PSA and F/T ratio. Results 24 patients (43%) were normal and 32 patients (57%) were aberrant in E-cadherin expression. E-cadherin was related significantly to the grade and stage of cancer and the changes of F/T ratio.There were no significant relationship between E-cadherin expression and T-PSA or F-PSA. Conclusions E-cadherin expression may act as a marker to the malignant degree and the prognosis of the prostate cancer.

There are two types of Chinese medicine, i.e., "Shihu" and "Tiepi shihu", using the stems of species of Dendrobium (Orchidaceae) as original materials. In order to understand species of Dendrobium using in Chinese medicine, taxonomic investigation and revision were performed. Our results indicated that about sixty species of sect. Dendrobium, sect. Formosae, and Sect. Stachyobium, are used as raw materials of "Shihu". Seven species of Dendrobium moniliforme complex and four species in Dendrobium officinale complex were recognized.

Objective To investigate the relationship between children history of asthma and family history of asthma.Methods Three thousand and five hundred outpatients of asthma children were selected as investigation subjects.Family history of asthma was investigated in the form of questionnaire,and analyzed them from whether or not having family history of asthma,the first and second degree relative having family history of asthma.Results There was no family history of asthma in 1 659 cases(47.4%) and while 1 841 cases had family history of asthma(52.6%).The children who had family history of asthma were slightly more than those who had no family history of asthma.Among the 1 841 cases with family history of asthma,the first degree relatives with family history of asthma were more than those second degree relatives with fa-mily history of asthma.The incidence rate of relatives with family history of asthma on mother′s side was 59.9%,and the incidence rate of the father′s relatives was 40.1%.The incidence rate of mother′s relatives was higher than that of father′s relatives(P

Objective To evaluate the possible factors that may influence the resting energy expenditure (REE) in patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer. Methods Totally, 40 patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer were prospectively collected from November 2008 to June 2009 in Xinhua Hospital. Nutritional risk screening 2002 (NRS 2002) was performed. REE and body composition were measured using indirect calorimetry and bioeletrical impedence method, respectively. Results Twenty-seven (67.5%) patients were found with nutrition risk, and NRS score was negatively correlated with prealbumin ( r = - 0.444, P = 0.004) and albumin levels (r = - 0.386, P = 0.014). Measured REE and predicted REE values were ( 6770 ± 1360) and (6021 ± 841 ) kJ/d, respectively (P ＜ 0.001 ). Among all 40 patients, 57.5% of them were hypermetabolic,30.0% were normal, and 12.5% were hypometabolic. Stepwise linear regression analysis showed that fat free mass was the only significant determinant variable for REE (P ＜ 0.001 ). Conclusion Fat free mass is a factor than can influence the energy metabolism in patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer.

Objective To explore the clinical effects of correction the midface depression.Methods From Aug.2010 to Aug.2015,185 cases of midface depression (aged from 18 to 61 years)were corrected by using structural fat grafting technique,the site and volume were placed as follows,tear trough 1ml,lid cheek groove 2 ml,midcheek groove 0.5 ml,anteriorcheek 4-8 ml,nasolabial fold 1-2 ml,nasal alar base 1-2 ml,evator labii superioris 1-2 ml,zygomaticus major 1-2 ml,buccinator 1-3 ml,and upper lip 3-5 ml.Results 185 cases were followed from 3 months to 3 years and the results were evaluated by visual analogue scales;156 cases of midface depression were corrected after the first structural fat grafting,the midface changed from concave to convex,and acquired prominent malar became more attractive;satisfaction of visual analogue scales were more than 80 ％;only 12 cases needed a second grafting.Conclusions The midface concavity can be corrected effectively by using structural fat grafting technique,the results are satisfied and the technique is safe,simple and effective.

Objective To compare the prognosis of sentinel node-positive breast cancer patients forgoing axillary lymph node dissection.Methods A systematic literature search (Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library)ended in April 2014 was performed to identify all eligible articles.Two reviewers independently screened and extracted data.RevMan5 was used for statistical analysis.Results A total of 1026 abstracts were retrieved and 18 clinical controlled studies finally included,the total number of patients were 47 894,7389 had micrometastases in sentinel lymph node,35 217 had macrometastases in sentinel lymph node and 5288 had positive sentinel lymph node regardless of micrometastases or macrometastases.For patients with MIC,the 5-year axillary recurrence rate,5-year disease free survival and 5-year overall survival had no significant difference between patients who only received sentinel lymph node biopsy and patients who received further axillary lymph node dissection,(OR =1.78;95％ CI:0.72-4.39,P=0.21),(OR =0.76,95％CI:0.56-1.04,P=0.08),(OR=0.77,95％CI:0.43-1.40,P=0.39).For patients with MAC,the 5-year axillary recurrence rate had no significant difference between patients who only received sentinel lymph node biopsy and patients who received further axillary lymph node dissection,(OR =1.21;95％ CI:O.76-1.91,P =0.42).For patients with positive sentinel lymph node regardless of micrometastases or macrometastases,the 5-year axillary recurrence rate and 5-year overall survival had no significant difference between patients who only received sentinel lymph node biopsy and patients who received further axillary lymph node dissection,(OR =1.29;95％ CI:0.92-1.80,P =0.14),(OR =0.96,95％ CI:0.64-1.45,P =0.84).Conclusions Among patients with limited positive SLN of breast cancer,patients forgoing ALND compared with ALND did not have obvious affect on long-term survival.

Purpose Ovarian dysgerminoma has no specific symptoms or physical signs, which is thus prone to misdiagnosis before treatment. This paper aims to investigate CT and MRI clinical features of ovarian dysgerminoma, so as to provide an accurate basis for its clinical treatment and also improve patients'' life, quality.Materials and MethodsThe CT and MRI data of 13 patients with ovarian dysgerminoma proved by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Three patients underwent plain and enhanced CT scan, 6 took plain and enhanced MRI scan on T1WI and T2WI with different angles of views, and 4 other patients were performed both CT and MRI scan.Results①Twelve patients had single lesions, and 1 was bilateral multiple ones. The diameter of the lesions ranged from 5.5 cm to 16.5 cm, with mean of (9.5±3.8) cm; in terms of pathological type, 11 belonged to single type and 2 were mixed.②The CT results showed that 6 were solid mass and 1 was cystic. On enhanced CT scan, 6 cases showed heterogeneous light-to-moderate enhancement, 4 had tumors with significantly enhanced blood vessels, and 1 showed heterogeneous significant enhancement at arterial phase; all cases presented continuous enhancement at venous phase.③The MRI manifestations demonstrated 8 were with solid mass, which displayed iso- or slightly hypointense signal on T1WI, and iso- or slightly hyperintense signal on T2WI. The enhanced scan showed that 5 cases had heterogeneous mild enhancement, 3 had moderate enhancement, and 4 were seen with tortuous tumor vessels at arterial phase; all displayed continuous enhancement at venous phase. In the one case of cystic mass, solid component had moderate enhancement at arterial phase and continuous enhancement at venous phase. In another case of multilocular cystic mass, the tumor separate and cyst were significantly enhanced at arterial phase, and were continuous enhanced with hyperintense at venous phase.Conclusion Ovarian dysgerminoma tumors present features such as large lesions with clear boundaries. Tumors of single type are likely to be solid mass with central necrosis; the plain CT scan shows isodensity; the plain MRI scan mainly shows isodensity on T1WI, and iso- or slight hyperintensity on T2WI; the enhanced scan presents slight to moderate enhancement. Tumors of mixed type demonstrate cystic mass; the solid and separate parts are significantly enhanced. The comprehensive analysis of imaging features of ovarian neoplasms could help to make a correct diagnosis before surgery.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of Shen-reinforcing and menstrual cycle-regulating therapy (SRMCRT) combined with Western medicine (WM) in treating decline in ovarian reserve (DOR).

METHODSTotally 78 patients with DOR were assigned to the traditional Chinese medicine combined WM group (abbreviated as IM group, 40 cases), and the WM group (38 cases) according to random digit table method. Patients in the WM group were treated with hormone replacement therapy, while those in the IM group additionally received SRMCRT. The therapeutic course for all was 3 consecutive months. The therapeutic efficacy was compared between the two groups. The serum levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), FSH/luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2), as well as the development of sinus follicles were compared between before and after treatment in the two groups.

RESULTSThe therapeutic effective rate was 92.5% in the IM group, higher than that of the WM group (73.68%, P < 0.05). The serum levels of FSH, FSH/LH, and E2 decreased (P < 0.05) and the number of the sinus follicle increased (P < 0.05) in the two groups after treatment. Besides, IM was superior in decreasing serum levels of FSH and FSH/LH, and increasing the number of the sinus follicle (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSSRMCRT was an effective method for treating ROD. IM was superior in decreasing serum levels of FSH and FSH/LH, and increasing the number of the sinus follicle.
