Objective To study the MRI manitestation of juvemle acute pure cartilage fracture of the knee joint.Methods The MRI changes of cartilage,subcartilage low signal line and subcartilage bone were analysed retrospectively in 26 juvenile patients with acute pure cartilage fracture confirmed by arthroscopy.Sagittal and coronal MRI scanning were performed in 26 patients.Using fast low angle shot fat saturation T_1-weighted image(FLASH-FS-T_1WI)sequences,spin echo T_1-weighted image(SE-T_1WI)and fast imaging with steady-state precession three dimensional fat saturation T_2-weighted image(FISP-3D-FS- T_2WI)sequences in sagittal plane,SE-T_1WI and multi echo data image combination T_2-weighted imaging (MEDIC or ME-T_2WI)in coronal plane.Using ME-T_2WI sequence,axial plane MRI scanning in 5 patients.Results Twenty-seven sites of 26 patients include 8 patella,7 femoral medial condyle, 11 femoral lateral condyle and 1 tibial plateau.Three types pure cartilage fracture were observed,totally defect of the cartilage in 7 sites(include 3 patella,2 femoral medial condyle,1 femoral lateral condyle and 1 tibial plateau),fissuring fracture in 3 sites(include 2 femoral medial and 1 femoral lateral condyles), superficial defect of the cartilage in 17 sites(include 5 patella,3 femoral medial and 9 femoral lateral condyle).Corpus liberum was found in 21 patients'knee joints by arthroscopy,but only 3 cases by MRI. Bone bruise was detected,and subcartilage low signal lines were normal.Conclusion Using FLASH-FS- T_1WI,SE-T_1WI,FISP-3D-FS-T_2WI and ME-T_2WI sequences,sagittal and coronal MRI scanning in femoral and tibial plateau pure cartilage fractures,and using ME-T_2WI sequence axial scanning in patella r cartilage fractures may show the position,extension and types of the acute pure cartilage fracture of the knee joint. MRI is the hest non-invasive method for studying cartilage fracture.

AIM:To explore the inhibitive effects of cervical lymphadenectomy on kerstoplasy after alkaline burns.METHODS:The Wistar rats' corneas were transplanted into Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats' eyes which were randomly divided into 4 groups:group A(control group);group B,the cervicallymphadenectomy group;group C,corneal transplantation after the alkali burn injury;group D,cervical lymphadenectomy following group C.Out of 6 rats in each group,the cornea of one rat Was used for mawophage immunohistochemistry at day 14 after the transplantstion,and the remaining 5 rats were used for studying corneal immune rejection with a slit lamp.The time when allograft rejection occurred was recorded and mean survival times(MST)were compared among the groups.RESULTS:Compared with the MST of group A(10.40±1.14 days),the MST of group B(46.30±9.46 days)Was significantly longer(P＜0.05).MST of grafts between group C(7.00± 1.58 days)and group D(15.00±3.39 days)was also significant (P＜0.05).At 14th day after the transplantation,there was no CD68 immunoreactivity in the graft of group B,and CD68 proteins were expressed to some extent in the grafts of group A and D.However,in the graft of group C,the expression of proteins Was dramatically up-regulated.CONCLUSION:Cervical lymphadenectomy therapy has a significant effect in preventing corneal allograft rejection in normal and alkali burned oorneai beds.

Mounting evidence has shown that side population (SP) cells are enriched for cancer stem cells (CSCs) responsible for cancer malignancy. In this study, SP technology was used to isolate a small subpopulation of SP cells in human gallbladder cancer cell line GBC-SD, and SP cells which had superior potential for proliferation in vitro and tumorigenesis in vivo were identified. Importantly, the abundance of GBC-SD SP cells was increased by a transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and this effect was accompanied with a strong up-regulation of ABCG2 mRNA expression, and a decreased sensitivity to mitoxantrone. SP cells were restored upon the removal of TGF-β and the reversion of the cells to an epithelial phenotype, and smad3-specific siRNA reduced SP abundance in response to TGF-β. In conclusion, TGF-β-induced EMT by smad-dependent signaling pathway promotes cancer development and anti-cancer drug resistant phenotype by augmenting the abundance of GBC-SD SP cells, and a better understanding of mechanisms involved in TGF-β-induced EMT may provide a novel strategy for preventing cancer progression.

AIM: To investigate hemodynamic alterations of retrobulbar vessels in proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( PDR) patients with anterior segment neovascularization, before and 3mo after vitrectomy combined with panretinal photocoagulation and to explore the clinical significance.
●METHODS: Color Doppler flow imaging ( CDFl ) was used for measurement of blood flow velocities and resistive indexes ( Rl ) of the ophthalmic artery ( OA ) , short posterior ciliary arteries ( sPCA ) and central retinal artery ( CRA ) in 21 eyes of 21 PDR patients with anterior segment neovascularization. CDFl parameters were obtained before and 3mo after vitrectomy combined with panretinal photocoagulation ( PRP) .
● RESULTS: Peak systolic velocity ( PSV ) and end diastolic velocity ( EVD ) of CRA were significantly increased after surgeries, Rl were decreased significantly (P<0. 05). Parameters of sPCA and OA have no change after surgeries (P>0. 05).
●CONCLUSION: Vitrectomy combined with panretinal photocoagulation might increase the velocity of CRA, decrease Rl and improve ocular blood supply postoperatively. lt may delay or prevent the process of neovascular glaucoma.

Objective To study the role of hematopoietic growth factor(HGF)of placenta chorionic villus in fetal hematopoiesis during embryo ontogeny by observation of the appearance time and the content changes with the fetal growth, which was compared with HGF in cord blood. Methods Thirty embryo villus (2 g each) and 30 cord blood (2 mL each) were collected separately from early pregnant stage(6- 8 weeks), middle pregnant stage(16-22 weeks)and late pregnant stage (37-42 weeks). The levels of HGF were detected by enzyme - linked immunosorbent assay. OBJECTIVE: To assess the effects of Jinlongshe Granules (JLSG) on tumor growth of gastric carcinoma. METHODS: Fifty nude mice orthotopically transplanted with MKN-45 human gastric cancer cells were divided into five groups: untreated group, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-treated group and high-, medium-, and low-dose JLSG-treated groups. Corresponding antitumor drugs were administered in each group except the untreated group. The antitumor effects in vivo were evaluated. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis of MKN-45 human gastric cancer cells were determined by using flow cytometry (FCM) and Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide (Annexin V-FITC/PI) staining assay. The ultrastructure of MKN-45 gastric cancer cells was observed by transmission electron microscope. RESULTS: In the mice treated with high-, medium-, and low-dose JLSG, the growth inhibition rates of gastric cancer were 68.13%, 55.94% and 50.31% respectively, and this antitumor effect was dose-dependent. In the mice treated with intraperitoneal injection of 5-FU, the growth inhibition rate of gastric cancer was 53.43% and not much different from those treated with JLSG. The apoptotic rates in the high-, medium-, and low-dose JLSG-treated groups were 22.81%, 28.27% and 38.54% respectively, in a dose-dependent manner, with the cell cycle arrested at G(0)/G(1) phase. An Annexin V-FITC/PI staining assay revealed that the percentages of early apoptotic cells in the three dose JLSG-treated groups were all significantly higher than that in the 5-FU-treated group, whereas the late apoptotic and necrotic cells were much more in the 5-FU-treated group than those in the three dose JLSG-treated groups. CONCLUSION: Jinlongshe Granules exert an inhibiting effect on MKN-45 human gastric cancer cell.

Objective To investigate the effect of bortezomib with arsenic trioxide different concentration on the cell cycle and apoptosis of Raji cells. Methods Flow cytometry analysis showed that the relative number of cells in different phases and the percentages of cells calculated in G1 and S phase of the cell cycle and apoptosis were assessed after treatment with As2O3 and BOR or in combination with BOR in different concentration at indicated time (24 h, 48 h, 72 h). Results Flow cytometric analysis showed that the cell cycle was arrested at G1 phase, the number of cells G1 period increased significantly, and S phase decreased on Raji cells after As2O3 treatment. The relationship between the cellular DNA contents and the concentration of As2O3 showed a dose-and time-dependent manner (P ＜0.0001). But it was found that BOR had no effect on Raji cell cycle, but, in two drugs combination, cell apoptosis rate significantly increased from 16.98 % to 45.84 %. Conclusion The results show that As2O3 exerted variable and definite effects on lymphoma Raji cells, which indicated that As2O3 might induce apoptosis and arrest cell cycle. The combination of two drugs had a effective and synergistic effect on apoptosis.

Objective Hypertension is a leading modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease .However , a lot of hyper-tension patients hold inactive attitudes to hypertension treatment .The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between previous treatment of hypertension and stroke severity in acute ischemic stroke . Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 653 in-hospital ischemic stroke patients with hypertension between January 2011 and December 2014 .According to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) at admission, the stroke patients were divided into a mild group (NIHSS≤3) and a severe group (NIHSS >3) and, based on their history of hypertension treatment , allocated to a regular treatment, an irregular treatment, a non-treatment , and an unawareness group .We studied the relationship of previous hypertension treatment with stroke severity by Spearman correlation analysis and identified the potential factors associated with stroke severity by multivariate logistic regression anal-ysis. Results Previous treatment of hypertension was positively correlated with stroke severity (r=0.146, P=0.000 2).Compared with the patients of the regular treatment group , those in the irregular treatment group (OR: 2.21; 95%CI:1.39 -3.52; P =0.001), non-treatment group ( OR: 2.18; 95%CI: 1.41 -3.36; P =0.0004) and unawareness group (OR:1.80;95%CI:1.12-2.88; P=0.015) tended to have more severe stroke. Conclusion Previous treatment of hypertension is closely related to the severity of ischemic stroke .
