In order to explore reasonable artificial cultivation pattern of Thesium chinense, the biological characteristics and nutrients change in the process of winter dormancy of T. chinense was studied. The phenological period of T. chinense was observed by using fixed-point notation and the starch grains changes were determined dynamically by PAS-vanadium iron hematoxylin staixjing method. Soluble sugar and starch content were measured by anthrone-sulfuric acid method and amylase activity was determined by DN'S method. The results showed that the normal life cycle of T. chinense was two years. T. chinense was growing by seed in the first year, but growing by the root neck bud in the second year. During the process of dormancy, starch and soluble sugar could mutual transformation in different periods. T. chinense had sufficient carbohydrate to maintain growth and also a lot of small molecules to improve their ability to fight against adversity.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of low molecular weight heparin calcium (LMWHC) combined Compound Danshen Injection (DI) on nephrotic syndrome patients with early onset severe preeclampsia.

METHODSTotally 80 nephrotic syndrome patients with early onset severe pre-eclampsia were randomly assigned to four groups voluntarily, i.e., Group A (22 cases, treated by magnesium sulfate), B (19 cases, treated by magnesium sulfate plus LMWHC), C (21 cases, magnesium sulfate plus DI), D (18 cases, magnesium sulfate plus LMWHC and DI). Umbilical arterial S/D ratios, amniotic fluid index (AFI), prolonged gestational age, placenta weight, neonatal weight, and Apgar score were compared among the four groups.

RESULTSCompared with before treatment in the same group, umbilical arterial S/D ratios decreased in the four groups (P <0. 05). AFI decreased in Group A, while it increased in Group B, C, and D (P<0. 05). Compared with Group A at the same time point, umbilical arterial S/D ratios decreased, and AFI increased in Group B, C, and D (P <0. 01 , P <0. 05). Prolonged gestational age and neonatal weight were increased in Group B, C, and D (P <0. 01, P <0. 05). Placenta weight were increased in Group B and D (P <0. 05). Apgar scores at 1 and 5 min were improved in Group D (P <0. 05). Compared with Group B and C at the same time point, umbilical arterial S/D ratios decreased, and AFI increased in Group D (P<0. 05). Compared with Group B, prolonged gestational age and placenta weight were decreased in Group C, but prolonged gestational age and placenta weight were increased in Group D (P <0.05). Compared with Group C, prolonged gestational age, placenta weight, and neonatal weight were increased in Group D (P <0. 05).

CONCLUSIONTreatment of nephrotic syndrome patients with early onset severe pre-eclampsia by LMWHC combined DI could prolong gestational ages, obviously improve prenatal outcomes, with better effect obtained than using any of them alone.

Objective To investigate the current situations in stroke-prevention knowledge and influential factors in hypertensive patients from the communities of Guangzhou.Methods 94 hypertensive patients visiting the community health service centers in Guangzhou participated in the survey using stroke-preventing knowledge questionnaire.Results The total score on the stroke-preventing knowledge was(62.70±18.39).By stepwise regression analysis,those female and well-educated scored higher. The score on monitoring the blood pressure was the lowest(43.09±25.77).There were mistakes in medication,physical exercises and living habits.Conclusions The hypertensive patients in the communities in Guangzhou lack of stroke-preventing knowledge.In the stroke-preventing education,those male patients as well as those with less education deserves more attention.

The study aims to develop a rapid, sensitive and specified method of liquid chromatography with heated electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-HESI/MS/MS) for simultaneous determination of amlodipine, benazepril and benazeprilat in human plasma using amlodipine-d4 and ubenimex as internal standards (ISs). Selected reaction monitoring (SRM) with heated electrospray ionization (HESI) was used in the positive mode for mass spectrometric detection. Analytes and ISs were extracted from plasma by simple protein precipitation. The reconstituted samples were chromatographed on a C18 (100 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 microm) column with mixture of methanol-acetonitrile-5 mmol.L- ammonium acetate-formic acid (30 : 30 : 40 : 0.1) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.6 mL.min-1. The standard curves were demonstrated to be linear in the range of 0.02 to 6.00 ng.mL-1 for amlodipine, 0.2 to 1,500 ng.mL-1 for benazepril and benazeprilat with r2>0.99 for each analyte. The lower limit of quantitation was identifiable and reproducible at 0.02, 0.2 and 0.2 ng mL-1 for amlodipine, benazepril and benazeprilat, respectively. The intra-day and inter-day precision and accuracy results were within the acceptable limit across all concentrations. The plasma samples were stable after four freeze-thaw cycles and being stored for 93 days at -20 degrees C. The method was applied to a pharmacokinetic study of a fixed-dose combination of amlodipine and benazepril on Chinese healthy volunteers.

Objective To investigate the benefit finding for caregivers of patients with cancer and its influencing factors. Methods Totally 330 couples of cancer patients and caregivers were investigated from October 2014 to September 2015 by convenience sampling method. The cancer patients were investigated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. The caregivers of cancer patients were investigated with Benefit Finding Scale, Zarit Caregiver Burden Interview, Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey. Results The total score of benefit finding was (59.65 ± 11.12) points. Regression analysis indicated that caregivers' education, religious, informational and emotional support, caregiver burden, patients' depression symptom, cancer stage and self-caring were influencing factors of benefit finding for caregivers (t=-3.689-5.913, P<0.01 or 0.05), which explained 30.0% of the variance. Conclusions The caregivers of patients with cancer have a low level of benefit finding. Oriented by influencing factors of benefit finding, the health workers should enhance targeted interventions, promote positive perception in the process of caring, develop the quality of caring and life.

Objective To explore the effect of community comprehensive intervention on stroke-prevention-related knowledge, belief and behavior of hypertensive patients. Methods The community-based comprehensive interventions were done to 77 hypertensive patients, with the measures including archives establishment, hypertension-phased management, regular follow-up and multi-mode health education. The stroke-prevention-related knowledge, belief and behavior of them were assessed by the stroke-preventing knowledge questionnaire (SPKQ), champion′s health belief model scale (CHBMS) and (stroke-prevention behavior questionnaire,SPBQ) before and after the intervention. Results Their knowledge on daily-life and pre-stroke symptoms and part of their behaviors (health duty, physical exercises and stress management after the intervention were superior, as compared to the pre-intervention (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in other stroke-related knowledge and behaviors and health belief in comparison of the pre-and post-intervention (P>0.05). Conclusion The community-based intervention can improve parts of stroke prevention knowledge and health behavior among hypertensive patients. The intervention needs to be modified based on ecological models of health promotion and health belief model.

Objective To explore the effects of family-centered care based on Timing It Right on patient com-pliance,quality of life and readmission rate in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods To tally 100 cases were selected and randomly divided into two groups by random number table,with 50 cases in the interven-tion group and 50 cases in the control group. The intervention group received routine care and follow-up and fami-ly-centered care intervention based on Timing It Right;the control group received routine care and follow-up. Pa-tient compliance,quality of life and readmission rate were compared between two groups at discharge,3 months and 6 months after discharge. Results Patient compliance in the intervention group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05) 3 months after discharge except blood glucose,blood pressure,blood lipid and alcohol (P>0.05);6 months after discharge,patient compliance in the intervention group was better except alcohol(P>0.05);physical activity,safety and diet in the intervention group were better than those in the control group when discharged (P<0.001);3 months after discharge,there were no significant differences in physical activity and dependence between two groups(P>0.05);6 months after discharge,all domains in the intervention group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.001);when the research was finished,readmission rate in the intervention group was signif-icantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The family-centered care intervention based on Timing It Right can effectively improve patient compliance,quality of life and decrease readmission rate for patients with acute myocardial infarction.

OBJECTIVETo study the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment strategy of oral and maxillofacial malignancies in multiple primary malignant neoplasms (MPMNs).

METHODS21 cases of oral and maxillofacial malignancies associated with MPMNs admitted to our hospital between 1985 and 2000 were studied respectively.

RESULTSThere were 44 malignant cases in the 21 MPMNs patients. Among the 44 cases, there were 24 cases in alimentary and respiratory tract such as oral, pharynx, esophagus, stomach and lung, and 10 cases in salivary gland, breast and female reproductive system. There were 25 cases malignant neoplasms in oral and maxillofacial region where squamous cell carcinoma was the most common pathologic type, secondly adenoid cystic carcinoma. In oral and maxillofacial region, MPMNs were often found in tongue, parotid and submandibular gland, buccal mucosa and gingival.

CONCLUSIONTongue and salivary gland were the common locations with MPMNs, and they were closely associated with alimentary and respiratory tract. Patients with malignancies of oral and maxillofacial region associated with MPMNs must be submitted to a long-term and careful follow-up. For female patients, breast and female reproductive system should be examined specially. Regular follow-up, early detection, early diagnosis, active and effective treatment can help to improve the survival quality of MPMNs patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of retroviral vector containing shRNA targeting rat angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) gene (Ad5-AT1R-shRNA) on blood pressure and AT1R mRNA expression in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR).

METHODSRetroviral vector containing shRNA targeting rat AT1R gene was constructed and propagated further in 293 cells. SHR rats were randomly divided into SHR + Ad5-AT1R-shRNA (1.7 x 10(9) TCID(50)/ml) group and SHR (Ad5-EGFP, 7.9 x 10(9) TCID(50)/ml, n = 11 each) and 11 male Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKY) serve as normal controls (Ad5-EGFP, 7.9 x 10(9) TCID(50)/ml). Systolic blood pressure was measured before and after single intravenous injection of Ad5-AT1R-shRNA or Ad5-EGFP. Heart, liver, kidney, aorta and adrenal gland were removed after blood pressure measurement. Tissue Ad5-AT1R-shRNA expression was detected with fluorescence microscope and AT1R mRNA in liver, kidney and aorta was measured by fluorescence quantitative PCR.

RESULTSAd5-AT1R-shRNA significantly reduced blood pressure compared with controls (-29 mm Hg, 1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa, P < 0.05) 24 hours after single injection and this antihypertensive effect could last for 5 to 7 days. Ad5-AT1R-shRNA expression detected with fluorescence microscope was significantly increased in heart, liver, kidney, aorta and adrenal gland post Ad5-AT1R-shRNA injection. AT1R mRNA in kidney and aorta (0.086 +/- 0.014, 0.051 +/- 0.023) were significantly decreased in Ad5-AT1R-shRNA treated rats compared with SHR control rats (0.362 +/- 0.042, 0.463 +/- 0.045, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThe results indicate that Ad5-AT1R-shRNA could inhibit the tissue AT1R mRNA expression and produce prolonged antihypertensive effects in SHR rats.
