1.Feasibility study on the treatment for brain metastases of lung cancer via intensity-modulated radiotherapy combined with simultaneous integrated boost
China Oncology 2016;26(8):687-692
Background and purpose:The incidence of lung cancer with brain metastasis tends to go up. The technique of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) with simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) for tumor bed is a new treatment choice for patients with brain metastasis. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of IMRT combined with SIB for tumor bed in the treatment of brain metastases of lung cancer by exploring its short-term clinical effect and treatment-related toxicities.Methods:Thirty-two patients who were diagnosed as having lung cancer with 1-4 brain metastases were prospectively collected. All the brain metastases were treated with whole brain 5 ifelds IMRT (40 Gy/20 f) combined with SIB (50 Gy/20 f). The dosage distribution within the target volume and dose-volume histogram were evaluated. Meanwhile, the overall response rate of radiotherapy, thelocal tumor control rate, 1-year survival rate, treatment-related acute and late toxicities were also calculated. Results:All patients were treated with IMRT successfully. The rate of Grade 2 vomitting, nausea, epilepsy was 9.4%, 15.6%, and 12.5%, respectively. Two cases had Grade 2 cognitive impairment, 4 cases had Grade 2 memory injury, and 2 cases had Grade 3 memory injury. There were no any Grade 4 events of acute and late toxicities. The overall response rate of radiotherapy was 71.9%. The local tumor control rate was 96.9%, and 1-year survival rate was 44%.Conclusion:It is feasible to use 5 ifelds IMRT (40 Gy/20 f) combined with SIB (boosting 10 Gy, i.e. total dose 50 Gy/20 f) for the treatment of brain metastases of lung cancer.

Objective To evaluate clinical effect of Compound Fanshiliu Recipe(CFR) for the treatment of over-weighted type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods One hundred and twenty over-weighted T2DM patients were randomized into treatment group and control group, 60 cases in each group. Both groups were given oral use of Metformin Hydrochloride Enteric-Coated Tablets, and additionally the treatment group was treated with CFR orally. The treatment of both groups lasted for 12 continuous weeks. Before and after treatment, we detected the waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), and the levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG), postprandial 2-hour blood glucose(P2hBG), glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride (TG), and free fatty acid (FFA). The therapeutic effect of the two groups was also evaluated after treatment. Results (1) The total effective rate for traditional Chinese medical symptoms was 95.00% in the treatment group, and was 70.00%in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.01).(2) After treatment, WC and BMI were decreased in the treatment group(P<0.01 compared with those before treatment), but had no significant decrease in the control group(P>0.05). The decrease of WC and BMI of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group(P<0.05).(3) After treatment, levels of FBG, P2hBG, HbA1c, TC, TG, and FFA of both groups were significantly improved (P<0.05), and the improvement of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group(P<0.05).(4) Three patients of the treatment group suffered from slight gastric discomfort, and the discomfort was relieved without any special treatment. Other patients of the two groups had no adverse reaction. Conclusion Treatment of CFR combined with Metformin has been proved to be an effective and safe approach to decrease blood glucose and blood lipid levels, promote weight loss, and ameliorate traditional Chinese medical symptoms.

To build a reversed phase ion-pair chromatography to determination content of Dencichine from Panax notoginseng. Using Tetrabutyl ammonium hydroxide ions by the combination of reagent and HPLC method without derivatization to test the content of dencichine directly. The optimum conditions of supersonic extraction were solid-to-liquid ratio 1: 20, Continuous ultrasonic extraction: twice, each time 15 minutes; 3,500 r · min⁻¹, then centrifuging 15 minutes. Dencichine in different age, place, part and the different Processing mode were examined. The method is simple with sound separation degree and stability, which can facilitate the determination of dencichine content directly and provide the basis in quality standard of raw material.

China Pharmacy 2001;0(12):-
OBJECTIVE:To put forward policy suggestions on the selection and revision of National Essential Drug List (NEDL) in China. METHODS: The selection principles, criteria and procedures of WHO Model List of Essential Medicines and Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme Directory which was commonly regarded as Essential Drug List of Australia were analyzed to provide reference for the selection and revision of NEDL in China. RESULTS & CONCLUSION: The selection and revision of NEDL which were strongly supported by related policies demand active participation of all social sectors, open and transparent working procedures, scientific and operational methods for selection and revision, authoritative monitoring and aftereffect evaluation system.

Objective To explore the factors affecting compliance of patients with maintenance hemodialysis and to provide reference for the improvement of patients' compliance. Methods Ten patients with maintenance hemodialysis were individually interviewed in this study. The data were analyzed based on phenomenological method. Results Three factors were found, including feasibility of doctor's advice, characteristics of patients such as awareness of disease related knowledge, recognition todisease progression and usual behavioral pattern,as well as social factors such as economic status, life pressure, family support, professional supervision and guidance. Conclusion In order to enhance patients' compliance,it is suggested to improve thefeasibility of doctors' advice and health education,as well as pay close attention to the influence of patients' recognition, psychological status and social factors on the compliance.

Objective To explore the role of protein kinase C(PKC) to regulate the activation of nuclear factor-?B(NF-?B)in T lymphocyte in children with acute idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP).Methods Sterility peripheral blood was collected from acute ITP children(n=30)and healthy children(n=30).T lymphocytes were isolated and purified, and divided into 3 groups:control group,PMA group stimulated with PMA,PMA plus H-7 group stimulated with PMA and H-7.The expression of NF-?B and inhibitor protein-?B(I-?B)was detected by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot, respectively. Results The percentage of cells with active NF-?B was significantly higher and the expression level of I-?B was significantly lower in acute ITP PMA group than that in acute ITP control group and normal PMA group, respectively(all P

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) has a wide range of biological functions in epigenetic, cell cycle, cell differentiation and other life activities, and that affect the development and differentiation of immune cells and the maintenance of homeostasis in the immune system. CD4+ T cell subsets are heterogeneous cells with different functions, including promoting the proliferation and differentiation of T cells, B cells and other immune cells, and coordinating related functions between immune cells. Autoimmune disease (AID) is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by an autoantigen immune reaction. lncRNA and CD4+ T cell subsets are involved in the occurrence and progression of the disease. This article reviews the relationship between lncRNA and the differentiation of AID CD4+ T cell subsets.
