The endophytic microorganisms found widely in many kinds of plants mediate various effects to theirs hosts. In this study, seven different dominant endophytes (SDE01 to 07) isolated from a Hy-peraccumulator-Solanum nigrum L. were resistant to Cd2+, and the strain SDE06 survived even in the medium containing 80 mg/L of Cd2+. Bacteria strain SDE06 was identified as Bacillus sp.. The removal of Cd2+ of SDE06 in different conditions were studied. Under the optimal conditions, the incubating time was 36 h, the solution pH 6.0, the temperature was 37?C and the Cd2+ concentration of medium was 20 mg/L, the highest removal rate was up to 80.2% at this condition.
2.Plasticity and metaplasticity of lateral perforant path in hippocampal dentate gyrus in a rat model of febrile seizure.
Acta Physiologica Sinica 2011;63(2):124-130
Febrile seizure (FS) is common in childhood and can impair cognitive function. The potential to exhibit plasticity at many synapses appears to be modulated by prior synaptic activity. This intriguing higher-order form of plasticity has been termed metaplasticity. Plasticity and metaplasticity have been considered to be one of the most important neurological fundaments of learning and memory. In the present study, field potential recording was carried out to detect the effects of FS on plasticity and metaplasticity in the lateral perforant path of rat hippocampus. Brain slices from rat pups of FS model were prepared and superfused. The recording electrodes were placed within the outer molecular layer for recording of lateral perforant path field excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSP). Stimulation of the lateral perforant path and the dentate hilar region was carried out by placing bipolar stimulating electrodes within the outer molecular layer and hilus, respectively. The results showed that long term potentiation (LTP) of control and FS rats didn't show significant difference after 100 Hz conditioning stimulation. Subjected to 10 Hz priming stimulation applied to lateral perforant path or dentate hilar region 40 min prior to 100 Hz conditioning, the LTP of control group was inhibited, while the LTP of FS rats remained constant. Normalized fEPSP slope 1 h after tetanization of control group was 1.10 ± 0.26 and 1.15 ± 0.14 after homosynaptic and antidromic priming stimulation respectively. On the contrast, FS group didn't show any depression of LTP after homosynaptic and antidromic priming stimulation, normalized fEPSP slope 1 h after tetanization being 1.35 ± 0.2 and 1.47 ± 0.19, respectively. These results suggest that FS would impair lateral perforant path metaplasticity without affecting LTP. These findings represent an intriguing phenomenon of FS-caused brain damage and imply the injury of excitatory status in different pathways.

3.Effect of TCM treatment according to syndrome differentiation in enhancing curative effect and reducing side-effect of madopa.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2007;27(9):796-799
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of TCM treatment according to syndrome differentiation in en-hancing curative effect and reducing side-effect of madopa in patients with Parkinson' s disease (PD).
METHODSThe trial was conducted in 101 PD patients with a prospective stratified randomized and controlled method. They were assigned to group 1 in which the patients of rigidity were treated with Pabing Recipe 1 (PR1) plus Madopa tablets, group 2 with those of tremor given Pabing Recipe 3 (PR3) plus Madopa tablets, and group 3 given a fixed Chinese recipe plus Madopa tablets as the control. The treatment course for all the groups was 3 months. Clinical efficacy was evaluated with unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS) and the adverse reactions observed before and after treatment.
RESULTSAfter treatment, the 4 partial scores and the total score of UPDRS decreased significantly in group 2 (P<0.01), and the former of them and the total score declined in group 1 and 3 (P<0.01), the improvement was better in group 1 and 2 than that in group 3 (P<0.01); the improvement rate in group 1 to 3 was 95.5%, 100.0% and 83.7%, respectively, which was significantly higher in group 1 and 2 than that in group 3 (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONTCM treatment according to syndrome differentiation could improve the clinical symptoms and reduce complications in PD patients, which could enhance curative effect and reduce side-effect of madopa.

Objective To summarize the clinical characters, diagnostic and therapeutic strategy of the cured patient with human H5N1 avian influenza pneumonia in mainland of China, and to provide effective experiences for the physicians to diagnose human avian influenza infection. Methods The clinical data of the cured patient with H5N1 avian influenza infection in China was analyzed. Results The patient was treated with short-term symmetrel and ribavirin for antiviral therapy companied with the lowdosage and long-term(4 weeks) glucocorticoid therapy. The CPAP assistant ventilation was used and the airway was kept unobstructed. The antibiotic was used to prevent and control the followed infection. The supportive treatment was applied to protect the organ′s function of the patient. The pathogenetic condition of the patient became better with the hemogram risen and the lungs pathological changes absorbed gradually. The chest CT reexamined at the 7th day of the hospitalized-term suggested that the left lung fibrosis started to be absorbed and it was obviously absorbed at the 16th day.The breath function and all the internal organs functions became better. The patient convalesced and left hospital at the 46th day. Conclusion In the human avian influenza infection, the pathogenetic condition may progress quickly after the pneumonia appears. The lung injury and lung fibrosis as well as the multi-organs dysfunction were emerged in the patient rapidly. The progression of disease can be controlled and the prognosis can be improved by the prompt and correct treatment.

Objective To explore the expression and regulatory mechanism of hypoxia inducible factor-1?(HIF-1?)during fracture healing. Methods Mouse models of tibia fracture healing were established, and callus samples were collected 1,3,7,14,21 and 28 days after fracture. The development of callus and new bone formation were evaluated with roentgenology,Micro-CT and tetracycline double labeling method, and the expression of HIF-1?,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),Runx2 and ALP in callus were detected with RT-PCR,Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. The relationship between HIF-1? and fracture healing was analysed. Results The expression of HIF-1? was detected in cells in the fracture sites as well as in evolved osteoblasts, chondrocytes and osteocytes in early callus under hypoxia. The highest expression rate of HIF-1? achieved on the 7th day after fracture, lasted for about 7 days, then decreased gradually, and returned to intact level on the 28th day after fracture. The expression tendency of VEGF resembled that of HIF-1?.Bone formation activity was more active in early callus, and the callus volume peaked on the 14th day after fracture and decreased gradually. The mineralization of callus mainly took place in the late healing period(14th to 28th day after fracture). Conclusion Cells involved in fracture healing are hypoxia-responsive cells, which express HIF-1?.HIF-1? can regulate cell state and function, and can promote angiogenesis so as to play a crucial role in fracture healing.
