Objective To explore the effect of ischemia-reperfusion injury on the retinal functions of rats. Methods Seventy Wistar rats were selected, 20 of which were selected randomly and divided into two groups (control group and single-irrigated group). The rats were anesthetized and their anterior chambers of the right eyes were cannulated with a 7-gauge needle connected to a reservoir containing ringers balanced salt solution, which was maintained at the same level of the eye for 1 hour. After that, ERG was recorded in both eyes of all rats. All the left rats were divided randomly into 10 groups and they were treated as the single-irrigated group. Retinal ischemia was induced by raising the reservoir to a height of 150 mm Hg. One hour later except the single ischemia group, all of the groups resumed perfusion after 3,6,12,and 24 hours and 3,5,7,14,and 21 days separately. ERG was recorded in both eyes of all rats. Results There was no difference in the results of ERG between left and right eyes in either the control group or the single-irrigated group. All the waves of ERG vanished in the single-ischemia group after 1 hour. In the ischemia-reperfusion groups, the waves of ERG partly recovered and the amplitude reduced persistently and progressively. Conclusion Ischemia-reperfusion injury may affect the function of the retina persistently and progressively.

Objective To investigate the hemodynamics and structural effect of rat endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) transplant on pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) induced by monocrotaline(MCT) in rats. Methods EPCs were identified and marked.Twenty-one days after injection of EPCs,the pulmonary hemodynamic parame- ters, average pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP),right heart index were determined. The vascular endothelial cells and pulmonary vascular structural changes were verified by fluoresccuse microscope. Results Compared with the model,EPCs treatment(n=10) decreased mPAP significantly (mPAP,EPCs:25.9?0.7 mmHg vs model group:29.3?2.2 mmHg,P

The selection of the prosthetic material determine the success or failure of hip arthroplasty. Currently, the metals, ceramics, polymer composites and carbon materials are the main prosthetic materials of artificial hip joint. They have some progresses in biocompatibility, elastic modulus, mechanical properties, useful life, but they still can't reach the ideal standard of design. In this essay, we mainly review the characteristics and applications of the current artificial hip joint materials through its classification in order to provide a reference for choosing appropriate hip joint materials in clinic and increasing characteristic of materials. We consider the polymer composites has more advantages such as biocompatibility, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and price, even if it has shortages in abrasion resistance. As the researches of polymer composites are main focus on abrasion resistance, articular surface and strength, and its performances are increased fast, it has a wide prospect in future.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the content determination of L-epicatechin in Actinidiae arguta. METHODS:HPLC was performed on the column of Kromasil C18 with mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.2%Acetic acid solution(15:85,V/V)at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min,detection wavelength was 210 nm,column temperature was 25 ℃,and the volume injection was 10 μl. RESULTS:The linear range of L-epicatechin was 10.47-167.52 μg/ml(r=0.999 9);RSDs of precision, stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 2%;average recovery was 98.07%-101.71%(RSD=1.39%,n=6). CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple, accurate and reliable, and suitable for the content determination of L-epicatechin in A. arguta.

Objective To compare the effects between percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage (PTGD) plus delayed laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in comparison with emergency LC for elderly patients with acute cholecystitis. Methods From June 2011 to December 2014,the clinical data of elderly patients with acute cholecystitis receiving PTGD plus LC and emergency LC were retrospectively studied. Results In this study 38 patients received PTGD plus LC,59 patients received emergency LC.Patients in PTGD + LC group had longer operative time (67 ± 14) min and higher conversion rate (5 cases)than those in LC group (51 ± 13) min,1 case (t =5.741,x2 =5.057,P < 0.05),but had quicker bowel function recovery time (24.5 ±6.4) h,shorter hospital stay (4.2 ± 1.8) d,less complications (3 cases)than those inLC group (27±5.2) h,(6.2±1.9) d,17 cases (t =2.11,t=5.165,x2 =6.18,P<0.05).Conclusions Percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage plus delayed cholecystectomy is safe for elderly patients with acute cholecystitis.

Objective To study the severity of systemic inflammatory response to type B epidemic encephalitis and blood tumor necrosis factor complicated with respiratory failure. Methods Fourteen children with type B epidemic encephalitis were divided into two groups;6 cases in group one with respiratory failure were given mechanical ventilation and the other 8 cases had normal respiration.Breat-hing pattern, respiratory rate,GCS scores, daily dosage of sedatives were observed before endotracheal intubation;while heart rate, temperature,WBC,CRP,TNF were measured. Results Patients in respiratory failure group were given a small dosage of Luminal;there was no significant difference in GCS between two groups treated with compound Wintermin. The heart rate, temperature,WBC,CRP,TNF levels in respiratory failure group were significantly higher than those in normal respiratory group. Conclusions The severity of systemic inflammatory response is more severe in epidemic type B encephalitis with respiratory failure than the controls.Significant increase in blood TNF may be an important factors to cause peripheral respiratory failure.

Objective To investigate the variation of coagulation markers and its clinical value in type 2 diabetes patients. Methods The plasma levels of von Willebrand factor: antigen (vWF: Ag), thrombomodulin (TM), prothrombin fragment 1+2 (F 1+2 ) and P selectin were measured by ELISA in 65 patients with type 2 diabetes (including 33 patients with vascular complication) and 38 healthy people. Results The plasma level of vWF:Ag, TM, F 1+2 and P selectin in group of type 2 diabetes were significantly higher than that of normal controls ( P
