OBJECTIVETo observe the curative effect of Qianjin Kouchuang Jiawei Granule (QKJG) on recurrent oral ulceration [yin deficiency fire excess type (YDFET)].

METHODSTotally 120 patients who suffered from recurrent oral ulceration (YDFET) were randomly assigned to two groups, the experiment group and the control group, 60 in each group. Patients in the experiment group took QKJG, 20 g each time, twice per day, while those in the control group took Kouyanqing Granule (KG) , 20 g each time, twice per day. Fourteen days consisted of one therapeutic course, two for all. Scores for patients' symptoms and signs (ulcer area, exudation, hyperaemia, edema, the number of ulceration, burning sensation, and pain degrees) were assessed before treatment, at day 3 and 7 after treatment. Short-term efficacy was assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS). The total paralysis time and the total number of ulceration at month 12 after treatment were taken as judgment for long-term efficacy. Results Compared with before treatment in the same group, symptoms and signs were obviously improved at day 3 and 7 after treatment in the two groups (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group at day 3 after treatment, the improvement of edema, exudation, pain degree, and burning sensation was more obvious in the experiment group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The improvement of edema, pain degree, and burning sensation at day 7 after treatment was more obvious in the experiment group than in the control group (P < 0.05). As for short-term efficacy, the total effective rate was 86.67% (52/60 cases) in the experiment group and 83.33% (50/60 cases) in the control group, with no statistical difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). As for long-term efficacy, the total effective rate was 90.00% (54/60 cases) in the experiment group, significantly higher than that of the control group with statistical difference [81.67% (49/60 cases), P < 0.05]. At month 12 after treatment, the total number of ulceration was reduced and the paralysis time of ulcer attack prolonged in the experiment group, with statistical difference when compared with the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONQKJG showed better long-term efficacy than that of KG in treating recurrent oral ulceration (YDFET).

Objective To observe the effects of exogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on radiation-induced apoptosis of C17.2 neural stem cells(NSCs) and explore the relationship between bFGF and Hes1,RBP-JK protein.Methods The cell viability was assessed using the MTT assay.After the cells attach to the flasks they were irradiated by the linear accelerator.And 5 min later,different concentrations of bFGF in accordance with the experimental design and cultured cells 48 h.Extracted total protein of each group and Western blot analysis showed the changes of the Hes1,RBP-JK protein.Results Compared with the control group,irradiation group cell growth was inhibited,the OD of 0 ng/ml bFGF group was 0.61±0.81,the OD of 80 ng/ml bFGF group was 1.21±1.01 and the control group was 1.51± 1.13.Compared with the control group,all groups showed statistically significant difference (P＜ 0.05).Western blot analysis showed that with the increasing concentrations of bFGF,RBP-JK expression gradually decreased,but Hes1 expression gradually increased.Conclusion Exogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) can inhibit apoptosis of C17.2 NSCs.bFGF can regulate Notch signaling pathway downstream proteins Hes1,RBP-JK expression and inhibit neural stem cell apoptosis which were irradiated.

Objective To analyze the effect of different medical insurance payments on medical expenses so as to provide some suggestions for Guangdong Provincial Department of Offsite Medical Insurance Administration in its future policy-making.Methods An statistic analysis was conducted of medical expenses among patients who chose different medical insurance payments and their average length of stay.Results Medical expenses and average length of stay were statistically different among patients who chose different payments.Conclusion The medicare reimbursement′s inclusion of prevention and diagnosis should be recommended to establish a flexible referral system, reinforce the payments reform and increase the efficiency of social security funds.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of anterior capsule relaxing incisions with Nd:YAG laser in treating postop-erative anterior capsule contraction in high-risk cataract patients.Methods 120 high-risk cataract patients with postoperative ante-rior capsule contraction collected from December 2010 to November 2012 were divided into experimental group(performed the ante-rior capsule relaxing incisions on postoperative 3 d)and control group.The anterior capsule opening area was measured immediately after laser operation(baseline),in postoperative 1,3,6 months by using the Scheimpflug video photogeaphy system,and the descent rate of the opening area was simultaneously calculated.The decentration degree and tilt of intraocular lens(IOL),posterior capsule opacification and other complications were also assessed.Results Of the observed 120 cases,40 cases were pseudo posterior capsule stripping syndrome,40 cases were primary angle closure and 40 cases were diabetic retinopathy.There was no statistically signifi-cant difference in the baseline value of the opening area between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).In the ca-ses of primary angle closure 1,3,6 months after operation,the anterior capsule opening area in the experimental group was signifi-cantly increased compared with the control group(P<0.05)and the descent rate of the opening area was significantly diminished (P<0.05).In the cases of pseudo posterior capsule stripping syndrome or diabetic retinopathy,although there was no statistically significant difference in anterior capsule opening area between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05),the descent rate of the opening area was significantly diminished(P<0.05).No significant differences were found in the aspects of IOL decen-tration and tilt,posterior capsule opacity,or other complications.Conclusion YAG laser anterior capsule relaxing incisions in the early period after cataract surgery is safe and effective in preventing anterior capsule contraction in high-risk patients.

Objective To detect characteristics and the pathogenesis of rhodopsin (RHO) gene mutation in an inbreeding family with autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (ARRP). Methods Peripheral venous blood 5-8 ml was abstracted from 8 members in the inbreeding ARRP family and 10 control individuals. DNA gene group was picked. Extron 1-5 of RHO gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR),and the mutation of RHO gene was screened by direct DNA sequence measurement. Results The Gln-344-Arg mutation in the RHO gene was detected in 3 patients with ARRP and homozygotes of the mutation in 3 patients were found. Heterozygous of the mutation was detected in the parent of patients and 1 healthy family member. No mutation of RHO gene was found in 2 healthy family members and 10 control individuals. Conclusions The Gln-344-Arg mutation in the RHO gene may be the pathogenic factor of the ARRP family; the frequency of the mutation of RHO gene may increase in the inbreeding ARRP family.

Objective To compare the value of 99m Tc-DTPA dynamic renal imaging and intravenous pyelography(IVP) in assessing renal function. Methods The results of 99m Tc-DTPA dynamic renal imaging and IVP in 117 patients with renal diseases confirmed by clinical examinations, abdominal ultrasonography, CT and blood biochemical markers were analysed retrospectively. Results Out of 234 kidneys,101 were clearly visualized by IVP, which were indicated normal renal uptake by 99m Tc-DTPA dynamic renal imaging, and the GFR value was (60.13?16.85)ml/min. 48 kidneys were poorly visualized by IVP, their uptake detected by dynamic renal imaging was between grade 1 to 3, and the GFR value was (23.06?10.61)ml/min. 85 kidneys were not visualized by IVP, 71.8% of which(61/85kidneys) were indicated uptake of radionuclide by dynamic renal imaging with the (20.39?12.54)ml/min GFR value, and uptake of 8 kidneys among the 61 kidneys was normal. Abstract?AlM: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of glaucoma filtration surgery combined with the application of 5 - fluorouracil for clinical treatment to offer the reference.?METHODS:A total of 91 cases of patients with glaucoma treated in our hospital were randomly divided into three groups, 30 cases of group A were given mitomycin in surgery, 31 cases of group B were given 5-fluorouracil, 30 cases of group C were given cyclosporine. Objective To study pathogensand diagnostic value of beta2-microglobulin(?2-MG) in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) in children with aseptic meningitis(AM).Methods Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) assay,enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and passive particle agglutination were employed respectively to detect herpes simplex virus type-1(HSV-1) DNA,enterovirus(EV) RNA in CSF and the specific antibodies of HSV-1 and mycoplasma pneumonia(MP) in blood and CSF from 80 children with AM (AM group) and 20 cases of complete remission acute leukaemia(control group).Children with AM were divided into the EV meningitis group,HSV-1 meningitis group and MP meningitis group according to respective diagnostic criteria.The levels of ?2-MG in CSF from all groups were detected by radio immunoassay.SPSS 13.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results The infection rate of EV,HSV-1 and MP were 52.5%,11.25%and 5.0%,respectively in children with AM.The infection rate of EV was highest.The sensitivity of PCR was higher than ELISA.There could be false negative PCR results in bloody CSF specimens with HSV-1 DNA.The levels of ?2-MG in CSF was significantly higher in children with AM than that in control group(P
