Objective To investigate the pathogenesis of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) nuclear factor kappa-?B(NF-?B) in children with primary nephritic syndrome(PNS) and the effect of astragalus on the activity of NF-?B.Methods Twenty-five children with PNS and 20 normal children were studied.Isolated PBMC were separated from 5 mL venous blood in asepsis condition.NF-?B stimulator,NF-?B inhabitor and astragalus were added into the different tubes of PBMC,respectively. The nuclear protein was extracted from the pellets and the optical density(A) values of nuclear protein was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The activity of PBMC NF-?B in PNS group was higher than that in normal group(P0.05).Astragalus could decrease the activity of PBMC NF-?B which had been stimulated by interleukin-1?(IL-1?)(P

Objective To compaire the physical characteristics of semen morphology before and after semen coagulation-liquefaction under microscope and understand the significance of these characteristics for the determination of semen liquefaction. Methods Semens were placed in sperm counting chamber immediately after collection. The morphological changes of the seminal gelatinous substance during liquefaction were observed under microscope and analyzed. Results Morphological changes during semen liquefaction can be clearly observed.Among 32 samples of semen, forward sperm progression and motility were (30.3?12.4)% and (45.0?14.9)%,(44.9?12.7)% and (59.0?15.3)%,before and after the liquefaction, respectively. The differences were statistically significant (t=-1.130,5.023,P0.05).Conclusions Microscopic observation of the seminal gelatinous substance is a simple and feasible method for objective measurement of sperm liquefaction. These findings suggest it may provide pathological significance on semen liquefaction abnormality in infertility clinic.

Chinese soft-shelled turtles (Trionyx sinens) in culture farms using an artificial warming system in Zhejiang, China, often show typical signs of white-spot disease such as white spots on their bodies, skin lesions, anorexia and eventually death. The sick turtles were mostly 5~80 g in weight. A suspected fungai pathogen was isolated from the sick turtles and verified as Pae-cilomyces lilacinus by sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of its ribosomal DNA (rDNA). Detailed mor-phological examinations were also conducted to confirm the white-spot disease.

OBJECTIVEThe present study is concerning qualitative and quantitative detection of Poria cocos quality based on FT-near infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometrics.
METHODThe Poria cocos polysaccharides contents were determined by UV. Transmission mode was used in the collection of NIR spectral samples. The pretreatment method was first derivation and vector normalization. Then principal component analysis (PCA) was used to build classification model and partial least square (PLS) to build the calibration model.
RESULTThe results showed that conventional criteria such as the R, root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC), and the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) are 0.944 0, 0.072 1 and 0.076 2, respectively. The misclassified sample is 0 using the qualitative model built by PCA.
CONCLUSIONThe prediction models based on NIR have a better performance with high precision, good stability and adaptability and can be used to predict the polysaccharose content of Poria cocos rapidly, which can provide a fast approach to discriminate the different parts of Poria cocos.

Objective To study the anesthetic effect of oral dyclonine hydrochloride mucilage combined with laryngopharyngeal spray of lidocaine in infant esophagus dilatation. Methods Eighty infants with anastomotic stenosis after surgical correction of esophageal atresia under esophagus dila-tation assisted with gastroscope,51 males and 29 females, age 6 months to 3 years, weighing 5-12 kg,ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,were randomly divided into four groups with 20 cases each:general anesthesia group (group A),general anesthesia combined with dyclonine surface anesthesia group (group B),general anesthesia combined with lidocaine surface anesthesia (group C),general anesthesia combined with dyclonine and lidocaine surface anesthesia group (group D).Infants in group B and group D were given 1 % dyclonine hydrochloride mucilage 0.2-0.3 ml/kg by their parents who were guided by the anesthesiologist at 10-15 min before entering the operating room, followed by slow intravenous injection of penehyclidine hydrochloride 0.01-0.02 mg/kg, propofol 2-2.5 mg/kg, remifentanil 1 μg/kg.After the induction, the children of group C and group D were exposed to 2% lidocaine 0.1 5-0.2 ml/kg through laryngoscope under laryngoscope to spray the laryngeal mucosa surface. All the children were converted to oxygen supply (6 L/min)asing double nasal high flow af-ter the mask was added to the stable breathing.Anesthesia was maintained by propofol 6 mg·kg-1·h-1,remifentanil 0.1 μg·kg-1·h-1infusion.In the case of somatic or choking during the operation, propofol and (or)remifentanil were inj ected into the pump to deepen the anesthesia. The occurrence of intraoperative oxygen saturation (SpO2<94%),cough and body reaction were ob-served and recorded, and the occurrence of postoperative recovery time and emergence agitation during recovery period were observed. Results The patients with oxygen saturation in group D de-creased,the incidence of cough was significantly lower than that of groups A and B (P<0.05 ), without significant difference in group C, body dynamic reaction rate was significantly lower compared with the other three groups (P<0.05),the recovery time was significantly shorter com-pared with the other three groups (P<0.05),the incidence of emergence agitation significantly de-creased (P<0.05).Conclusion Oral dyclonine hydrochloride mucilage combined with laryngopha-ryngeal spray of lidocaine can effectively decrease hypoxemia, cough, body movement, shorten recov-ery time, reduce emergence agitation in infants undergoing the esophageal dilatation.

BACKGROUNDTo study the molecular characteristics of YN92-4 strain isolated from mosquitoes in Yunnan Province and define its classification.
METHODSThe S segment of YN92-4 strain was amplified and sequenced by 2 different sets of primers. The phylogenic tree of S fragment was constructed by Phylip bio-software. The amino acid sequences of N and NSs proteins were also studied.
RESULTSYN92-4 strain could be amplified by 2 sets of primers respectively, S segment showed a highest homology with Batai virus (X73464), reached 96.4%, the homology of protein N and NSs amio-acid sequence with Batai virus was 99.1% and 98% respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe YN92-4 strain belongs to Batai virus, this is the first report of molecular biological identification of Batai virus in China.
