OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of Zige lyophilized powder for injection in improving the acute cerebral microcirculation disturbance in rats.
METHODWindow craniotomy was performed for rats after the drug administration for 14 days. The experimental microcirculation disturbance model was duplicated with high molecule dextran. After the drug administration, the micro-vein diameters of cerebral pla mater of various groups were observed and recorded under the biological microscope. The blood flow volume was monitored by laser Doppler flow-meter. HCT was measured by the electric resistance method. The hemorheological indexes were detected by the auto-hemorheological instrument.
RESULTZige lyophilized powder for injection (16.40, 32.70, 65.40 mg x kg(-1)) could significantly expand the micro-vein diameter of cerebral pla mater, improve the downward trend of the blood flow volume, and reduce the various hemorheological indexes.
CONCLUSIONZige lyophilized powder for injection shows the effect in improving the cerebral microcirculation.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) dispensing is the final step of TCM used for clinical treatment, the stability of TCM dispensing is the guarantee of good clinical effect. Establishment of effect-constituent equivalence for Chinese herbal pieces based on clinical efficacy, can not only guarantee the stability of TCM dispensing, but also relate to the precision of clinical effect. This study chose Coptidis Rhizoma as the model, established effect-constituent equivalence of Coptidis Rhizoma, based on the effect-constituent index already established by our research group, and taking into consideration of homogeneity of clinical dosage and compliance of decoction, the uniformity of dispensing for different specification of Coptidis Rhizoma decoction pieces was studied. This research model was then applied to guide the specification-optimization of Coptidis Rhizoma and its clinical dispensing. The result indicated, effective constituent equivalence could reflect the fluctuation of specification, dosage and decoction to the fluctuation of efficacy; Optimized Coptidis Rhizoma decoction pieces had the characteristic of high homogeneity as for clinical dispensing, good compliance as for decoction, and high effective constituent equivalence. In conclusion, effective constituent equivalence could improve relevance of methods of TCM dispensing control to clinical effect. Preparated Superior-standard Decoction Pieces based on effective constituent equivalence was featured by good quality and a good practice of adjustable dosage, which could promote the development of TCM decoction pieces toward precision medicine.

OBJECTIVETo compare clinical effects between bridge wire splint fixation and traditional Bryant traction for the treatment of femoral shaft fractures in children.
METHODSFrom June 2006 to June 2009,38 children with femoral shaft fractures were treated with bridge wire splint fixation and Bryant traction. In bridge wire splint group, there were 15 males and 6 females, ranging in age from 8 months to 5.3 years, with an average of (2.3 +/- 0.6) years. According to fracture site classification, 5 patients were upper 1/3 femoral fractures, 9 patients were middle 1/3 femoral fractures, and 7 patients were lower 1/3 femoral fractures. In Bryant traction group, there were 10 males and 7 females, ranging in age from 10 months to 3.2 years, with an average of (2.2 +/- 0.4) years. According to fracture site classification, 4 cases were upper 1/3 femoral fractures, 10 patients were middle 1/3 femoral fractures, 3 patients were lower 1/3 femoral fractures. The clinical features, X-ray healing time,weight-bearing time and complications of the two groups were compared.
RESULTSComparison of fracture healing time: bridge wire splint group was (6.0 +/- 0.3) weeks and Bryant traction group was (6.2 +/- 0.4) weeks; the time of weight-bearing in bridge wire splint group was (6.1 +/- 1.0) weeks and in Bryant traction group was (6.4 +/- 1.2) weeks; there was no significant difference between two groups. There was a significant difference in soft tissue complication between bridge wire splint group occurred in 3 cases and 13 cases in Bryant traction group. According to the criteria of clinical efficacy,in Bryant traction group, 12 patients got an excellent result, 4 good and 1 fair; in bridge wire splint group, the data were 17, 3 and 1 respectively, and there was no significant difference between the two groups.
CONCLUSIONBoth of bridge wire splint fixation and traditional Bryant traction for the treatment of femoral shaft fractures in children have good efficacy. Compared with Bryant traction, bridge wire splint fixation is simple, safe and has reliable effect.

Objective To compare the biomechanical effect of three fixation instruments for SchatzkerⅥtibial plateau fractures. Methods Twenty four fresh knee specimens were made into models of SchatzkerⅥtibial plateau fractures. The specimens were divided randomly into three groups.Group A were fixed with a lateral periar- ticular plate and a posteromedial antiskid plate, and group B with a lateral periarticutar plate and an anteromedial lim- ited contact dynamic compression plate(LC-DCP),and group C with a lateral periarticular plate and a medical exter- nal fixator. Each model was tested for its biomechanical performance in resisting compression, bending and rotation. Results The performance of group B was higher than group A in anti-compression,anti-bending and anti-rotation, and group C was the poorest, there was no significant difference between group A and group B,and there was signifi- cant difference between group B and group C.Conclusion The biomechanical performance of group B was good. The method might have clinical applications in the treatment of SchatzkerⅥtibial plateau fractures.

OBJECTIVETo explore the role of stem cell mobilization on regeneration of partially grafted livers.
METHODSRats models with cross-sex 50% PLTx (partial liver transplantation) were established. The rats were divided into three groups: PLTx, WLTx (whole liver transplantation) and sham operation groups. Bone marrow and liver samples were collected on days 1, 3, 5, 7 postoperatively (each n = 6). The quantitative variations of the cells with stem cell markers in the bone marrow, including beta2m-/Thy-1.1+, CD45+/CD34+, Flt2/3+ and c-kit+ markers, were detected using flow cytometry. Sry gene positive cells in donor livers were detected by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), and the expressions of CD34, c-kit and Thy-1.1 were detected by immunohistochemistry technique.
RESULTSCompared with the WLTx and sham operation groups, beta2m-/Thy-1.1+, CD45+/CD34+ cells in bone marrows in the PLTx group increased on the first postoperative day and decreased on the following days. The CD34, c-kit and Thy-1.1 positive cells detected in portal tract areas peaked during the 3-5 postoperative days. CD34+/CD45+ positive cells could be detected. The expressions of CD34, c-kit and Thy-1.1 positive cells were rare in the WLTx and sham operation groups. Sry+ cells could be detected in portal tract areas and few Sry+/CD34+ and Sry+/Thy-1.1+cells were detected.
CONCLUSIONIn the PLTx group, the stem cells in the bone marrow were mobilized and stem cells in the liver were activated.
